Jaron Seth Bloshinsky / Jazz Jennings / I Am Jazz - Puberty Blockers: Not Even Once

What I still can’t get over is how they included that scene with Jazz grossing out his parents by bending his toes back, and then no one on the show remarked on that. Joint instability is not just a cool party trick! There are reasons most people’s joints don’t work that way!

Are all of Jazz’s joints that bendy? If his joints are unstable, what is the effect on those joints of carrying around an extra 100 lb or so of weight and then being forced into a telegenic exercise regime? Is he in pain? No one in his family cares about the answer to these questions and neither does TLC apparently.

I found some interesting things on 'Noah's' Instagram. First, I'd like to point out the Lynchian bio

'Noah' has a girlfriend, but not just any girlfriend.

She is none other than Sidhbh's sister. It's a family business.
I don't like the implications this has for Sidhbh's surgical practice and doctor-patient professionalism.
I am becoming increasingly obsessed with this mysterious family of Irish grifters who lure in transfolk by taking advantage of that demographic's well-known love of Gaelic names.

All right, so I am sure it is clear to everyone here that the producers are pushing a plotline that will allow the show to focus on more photogenic transgender people and their allies, like Sdhdhdhdh Gallagher and Noah. It's less embarrassing to have Jazz waddling around if Jazz is simply a part of an ensemble cast, and I'm sure TLC is also testing the waters on a spin-off show about the "gender affirmation" clinic.

What stuck out to me was that even though the intern plotline and the "random" introduction of Noah (who just so happened to be visiting the surgery on the day Jazz was trying out as an intern, amazing!) were clearly scripted, the conversation between Jazz and Noah seemed genuinely awkward. The way they kept talking over each other by accident, and Jazz apparently had no idea that Noah knew who Jazz was. The acting in the other natural-but-really-scripted scenes is terrible, but this seemed genuine, which makes me wonder if Jazz genuinely had no idea who Noah was and that Noah was being set up to be a recurring character.

How much of the plot does Jazz realize is scripted? Does he think Sdddhdhdh genuinely wants him as an intern? A part of me thinks that Jazz thinks it's all real, and that Noah and the other new, more photogenic cast members are all just suddenly around because they like him.
Holy cow.

I know it's different up there in Murica, but here, Nutrition is a full medical career* and you go five years to college to become a Medical Nutritionist. Someone from my family is one and I can tell you most severe cases are related to mental issues and they have to somehow deal with those patients and help them. I think this Dietist is doing a good job, even though she isn't actually talking about the (npi) elephant in the room, either because she's another woke zombie or because she might feel it's more urgent to deal with Jazz's obsession with food. I mean, after all, she's not a psychologist.

Grandma actually said the right thing: she loves Jazz, not the body he's in.

Buttergate was funny, though. You know, there is low-calorie butter FYI.

^The official ones here are Human Medicine (and their specialities), Psychology, Nutrition, Dentistry, and Obstetrics, for the curious.
Don't quote me on this but in the US you are a dietician (accredited) or a nutritionist (not a legally restricted term; anyone can call themselves one). A lot of people confuse the terms though (Jazz calls her a nutritionist in the episode, when she's actually a dietitian)

What disturbs me (and I am not even blaming the specific dietitian here, it is clearly a scripted television thing and it was all cursed from the beginning) is that any healthcare provider worth their salt should have spent ten seconds looking at the family dynamics on display, and then asked the others to leave the room so they could talk to Jazz alone. Jazz is an adult. Why is he being shadowed by his family to his health appointments?

Not only that, but the dietitian with a supposed focus on eating disorders decided to weigh Jazz in front of his entire family and then announce the number out loud?

Yeah, that got me too. Had Jazz been a true and honest woman there would be more women up in arms about it (and also another faction being cruel trollshielders but that's obesity gossip for you).

Hate that they forced all the women to go, like some kind of terrifying cult clan (I have no idea who's idea it was but I'm betting Jeanette and TLC). Ari and Grandma are power props for Jeanette as well as someone for Jazz to talk to and generate conflict with while receiving the news.

I wonder if the doctor knows that Jazz is a lost case due to the family dynamic but wants to try and alleviate some suffering anyway. She can only give him tools that fit his lifestyle and only if he chooses to use them, but it feels better than just pawning him off or refusing him outright. Who knows, she might feel guilt but be trying or not, guess we'll see.

Alright just finished the episode and I am once again here as a diet/ nutrition/ weight loss person here. Jazz is just like people I have worked with in the past that are set up for failure. That family is toxic as all hell when it comes to weight issues. The mother and grandmother are the worst influences when it comes to dieting and are very appearance heavy rather than health focused (like Jeannette admitting to weighing herself whenever she is in the bathroom). The expert that they spoke to was pretty decent but Jazz will make no improvement until the ed is actually addressed in a PROPER manner. As he is now, he is the type that will lose weight rapidly through a program (controlled by mommy) and then rapidly gain it back when he is alone and goes back to binging. This kid is the face of binge eating disorder.

What he needs is to be treated as a person with an ED and not have the treatment broadcasted all over the media. His eating habits are shit and that "normal" breakfast is just the tip of the iceberg. Right now, he wants results without changing the habits. Too much restriction though will hurt in the long run and it isn't uncommon for those with disordered eating to switch from one form of and ED to another since their mental states are never fully confronted. Major weight loss is mental just as much as physical.

In my opinion Jazz needs to take baby steps at first as he goes through therapy. Shit, have him take a cooking class to learn to make his own meals (he might even have fun with it for once rather than a painful game of kickball). You can eat what you want in moderation but Jazz has no control in that department. Here's to hoping mommy dearest doesn't get him the lapband surgery as a fix.

Sander is as annoying as ever in the episode and his love quest is more annoying than ever.
Does he just message random trans influencers on Instagram and ask them to take top topless pics with him in front of his flag?

Yeah, I don't want to pass too much judgement on the dietitian herself without knowing what went on behind the scenes and how much control she actually had; she might have just been attempting to do what she could in a restrained situation. I am far more disturbed by the fact that Jeanette and TLC think that making an entertaining television episode is more important than actually getting Jazz help for a dangerous and potentially deadly eating disorder.

They're decently wealthy; they could send Jazz off to a rich kids' rehab farm with horses and non-restricted homemade healthy food to choose from. That's what I would do if I was given a magic wand that allowed me to control people in TLC shows. Send him off to his second cousin's aunt in Israel. Send him to Disneyland. Just get him the fuck away from Jeanette.

I hope Ari has the wherewithal to keep any nice boys she meets away from her rapidly cycling circus fire of a family. Going no-contact is a very effective strategy for dealing with abusive narcissists with no sexual boundaries, like Jeanette.
Actually in the opening minutes of the season premier (I think), Jeanette opens Ari's bedroom door and realizes a boy is there, so apparently he's just fine with the crazy. Kinda surprised they included it. They never even show the guy, it's a random throwaway scene that lasts for 5 seconds that only exists to say "Look Ari is sleeping with her boyfriend in her parent's house."

As for their little fight, I think some people are reading too much into it. Siblings fight sometimes. Though it was certainly one of the few seemingly real interactions we've ever seen on the show. I remember when Sanders was doing his weird tour of the house video which just revealed that the Jennings are disgusting hoarders, he barges into Ari's room and Jazz is on her bed and they're hanging out. I'm sure she has to resent him on some level, but I don't think the kitchen scene is their default state with each other.

Noah’s dead name is Jessica Boutilier. Prior to hooking up with Real Housewives Gallagher, she dated an MTF drag queen named Sonja Diaz.

Sibling rivalry is normal, but after watching the videos again, it's a biiiit obvious that Ari knows that Jazz's "anxiety" is bullshit.

In a private environment, she could have told Jazz that to his face and tell him to cut the crap and act like the adult he is. But she can't because the family is supposed to validate Jazz all the time.

OTOH, I'm not saying Jazz doesn't love his sister, but he's annoyed by her not doing what he wants or not letting him do what he wants.

The whole diet thing is going to fail bad (and for the recent pics we've seen of Jazz, I think I'm not wrong) because the real problem isn't solved. Look at how he's lurking the kitchen like a kid while the others are cooking and takes his own portion apart to add butter to it like he really doesn't care he's meant to change habits. He could have taken an apple instead, but he made sure his plate wouldn't have any restriction he's supposed to have. Also look how nobody did anything when he started eating. Honestly, if that had been my child, I would have changed the plate for one without butter and if he didn't like it, he doesn't get to eat.

I wonder if Sneed Gallagher's sister is a closted lesbian and that's why she's with a "man"? Or is the sister also a medical sadist and just roped poor Noah No Nips into this?
So this is probably TMI, but anytime this chick posts anything beyond a face pic, my body responds NAKED GIRL! POUR YOUR SEED INTO HER AND REPRODUCE! So the whole clocking trannies cuts both ways. Fascinating.
You're not the first straight man to be attracted to a trans-identified female, and you won't be the last.
Transmen who talk about how they're dating "cis gay guys" and are "so gay" - they're dating straight men, or bi men.
Transmen who suffered abuse at the hands of males and think "becoming a man" will make it so men aren't attracted to them anymore - nope, men can still tell you're female, and some of them will even still be attracted to you. Yes, even with the beard and the backwards cap.
Transition really solves nothing.
Either way, I predict we'll be seeing more of Noah in the future. I also really hope she doesn't get an armskin-rollup installed, because those things are horrific and no one deserves that.
As for Ari and Jazz's fight, narcissist parents pit siblings against each other.

This seems like proof that almost no one is into FTM's.

Fit white FTM in "her" 20's... reasonably attractive face... appeared on a TV SHOW... presumably does nudes on these various social porn sites... and still <600 followers 😂

Also look how nobody did anything when he started eating.
The binging likely started in secret even before the SRS and was harder to notice since he was pretty active at the time. He played sports, was active with the crew, and had a good release for dopamine. After the botch job, even moving became painful. Food evolved into comfort and happiness for him.
We all have bad days where we just want to stay on the couch with a pizza and maybe some drinks when we are upset. For Jazz, that became every day and food became the comfort "feel good" feeling. But that family has insane issues with body image and weight so as eating habits became hidden. After having family meals, he would dash out and stuff his face full or fast food or junk in private just ro get that feeling of comfort.
That is how a binge eating problem can begin.
The way that TLC and the family is broadcasting it is horrendous. If Jazz was anorexic, the network would get combines if Jeannte was screaming at him about food on camera and pointing out how thin he is. Nope, people lov3 watching a fat train wreck slowly kill themselves.
What at of the FA people refuse to admit is that morbid obesity is part of a mental illness/ mindset. Jazz gained 100 pounds in only a year and it looks like he is already pushing 300 lbs.

If he gained 5 pounds between episodes I'm afraid he's gonna die. That's insane.
Edit: I found out that some people can actually go up or down five pounds in a day as a normal fluctuation. So that's not really cause for alarm. 100 pounds in a year is still insanity though.

The only one who seems to take it seriously is his sister. The rest of them (although she's included too) are trained to always support Jazz and never be negative around him. And Jazz also expects them all to cater to his needs. That's exactly the kind of behaviour an addict needs, lol.

We don't know how much of the interactions in the show are real and which are scripted, but the scene with the butter seemed real to me. And if it was, it's very telling of why Jazz became that fat: all he needed to snap was being told "don't do that" and by "that", I mean the one thing a a doctor told him to avoid and he agreed he would. He doesn't have any limitations or boundaries in his life and whenever he feels the smallest of negative emotions, he claims "anxiety" and everybody needs to run to him to comfort him and give up to his wishes so he's good again. He called a family meeting because he couldn't write a graduation speech and he needed them all to hug him and validate him.

Addicts are good at manipulating people, and Jazz IS an addict, not only to food but to attention. He's grown up being told that if he doesn't feel comfortable with himself all the time, he's gonna end up killing himself. And Jeannette also thinks this, that's why she lets him do whatever he wants and as long as he's alive, it's all fine.

Yes, you are right: Jazz is gonna die if he keeps gaining weight and ignoring all of the doctors' orders, and the only real way to save his life is to send him away from the family to get better before he goes back to Harvard, because once he's there and he feels a bit of pressure, he's gonna double down on the food without anyone to stop him.

She already has a GoFundMe set up for a hysterectomy and phallo which Jessica/Noah has cutely termed “Fellowplasty”:

Jessica’s surgeon of choice is the “wonderful Dr Gallagher” of Miami. How quickly do you think the sisters G will drop her post-op ass?

Snooping around her FB, nearly everyone interacting with Jessica’s content (especially her selfies) are other females, by at least a 10:1 ratio.
