The Slaton Sisters / Amy Slaton & Tammy Slaton - The 1000 Pound Sisters

Tammy is mentally retarded, to a degree severe enough, that it's inexcusable she fell through the cracks of the system. Being passed around by the Slaton clan is not equitable to a legal guardian. Tammy was fed as a reward to silence her tardrages as a toddler; It stunted her emotional maturity. Exceptional individuals of worse caliber can learn self-discipline and "no", but the resources weren't offered in key adolescence.

Tammy can't grasp basic concepts and falls in love with nigger feeders who only want her white beluga rolls. Tammy will die getting railroaded in gluttony. APS won't intervene and the Slatons can't control her.
I think it's fair to say that both girls (Tammy and Amy) were largely undereducated and might even have cognitive delays. Certainly, they're both emotionally stunted. Amy said that her mom was lax on her prenatal care and Amy had some birth related injuries. Tammy, if rumor is true, was carried in the womb of a woman who was drinking HEAVILY. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome can't be ruled out. That being said, they're both adults now. Amy is starting to get her life together but Tammy is a spoiled, manipulative, grifter with serious emotional issues.
I didn't like what they did with Amy and showing the bugs as she was crying, that's just cruel especially when she was raised in a hoarder home and is realizing that's not how normal people live. Good on her for realizing it and trying to fix it.

While not everyone deals with vermin, bugs etc intheir houses it was nice seeing Michael trying to cheer her up and pushing her to let the cleaners keep going. He doesn't talk much but Amy is very lucky she has someone who supports her and loves her that much, ngl.

Chris is awesome, and I keep waiting for the episode with Titty sister slapping down Tammy.
Naw. I can't give Amy any sympathy about her bug infestation and filth. I've followed her since 2015 and, while YouTubers didn't ignore her filth, they didn't make fun of it. They just demanded she do something about it. If you live in complete filth and film your home (including muckbangs, cooking, and food prep) then you are asking for trouble. Amy is/was just lazy and she wants people to feel bad for her. The reality is that she has the time to keep her house and take care of the baby.

Generally speaking, the more a person isn’t apt to be a parent and the more they breed. They want their babiesssss at all costs and I wouldn’t be shocked if their maternal instinct had a spite component in it.
It’s not a revolutionary take but like... it’s a recurring theme in so many threads on this forum that you can’t just avoid repeating it once in a while.
Samantha Bushart, for example..

Here in the farms, we didn't ignore her cockroach infestation, we made a fan club for Kenny the Roach! Run Kenny, run! Don't let Amy stomp on you!

How Tammy came away from that meet and greet thinking she was an inspiration for people is dumbfounding. What is she inspiring them to do? Become a bed ridden blob that sucks the life out of everyone around her?
This was bizarre and really highlights how detached from reality she is. At one point she said something to the effect of 'look at me now bitches'. Ya Tammy...look at you. You are in your 30's but have less mobility and more health issue then senior citizens in their late 90's. You have to breathe through a tube and have been on life support multiple times in the past few years. Boy did you show them!!

Well you know what they say... "If you can't be a good example, serve as a horrifying warning." Or something like that.

Tamtam is an inspiration, no matter what anyone says. She's inspired me and many others to mind my health to stay as far away from being her as humanly possible. As for her ego, I don't think she understands the difference between fame and infamy. She's acting like she thinks being the freak show main attraction gains her the kind of respect and admiration that the lead magician gets. Bitch, you're on TLC for fuck's sake, not HBO.

The bit with Tammy in the pool was pretty weird. The underwater shots looked like she was a 650 pound turd floating in the water. I couldn't figure out what I was looking at. It was just like a glob of something bobbing around.

It's pretty obvious that Amy is complicit in Tam Tam's bulkiness. She treats Tammy like a queen bee. Hauls her around. Waits on her. If Amy just stopped helping her, Tammy would be forced to get some self reliance. But Amy is still stuck in the two fat chicks mindset.

Amy does enable Tammy but they've had a toxic codependent relationship for many years that Amy is starting to get out of. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but ultimately Amy has gotta cut her off.

I don't think Amy will ever be able to fully live her own life until she's gone. The entire family has put the responsibility of her care onto Amy.
Hard not to blame her, Tam wouldn't really have anywhere else to go if Amy dumped her too. She might give too little of a shit not to seemingly smoke fags next to her baby, but I doubt she'd want to feel like actively having her own abandoned sister on her conscience.

Amy will be so much better off when Tammy dies. I saw someone over on the reddit group get banned for saying so (because apparently it counts as wishing death on her?) but I don't think Amy will ever be able to fully live her own life until she's gone. The entire family has put the responsibility of her care onto Amy.
I think Amy will still be an obese slob hoarder with a spedish life. TLC has sanitized the Slatons and portrays them as these aww shucks harmless hillbillies, but lets not forget Amy is a piece of work too.

I might have my cows mixed up but didn't Tammy call law enforcement over not having access to unlimited food in the past ? I know she would call and harass her family for food/money for food when they tried to limit her food intake and they would eventuality give in to get her to stop calling. That has to be a nightmare for siblings and people who shouldn't have to be parenting her.
Just block the fucking number till you're ready to deal with the next day

Their lil sanitising operation worked well too, judging from YouTube and Instagram where people seem to be madly in love with Amy.
She did get a lot better considering where she started from, but she’s still gross and doing a little more than the bare minimum. It’s baffling how the simple act of having a baby can swindle people.

To be fair, it seems like there's a whole bunch of ways in which babies can be used to psychologically manipulate our caveman brains. It's probably full of shit, but I remember hearing about how those tension stingers that horror movies use have a frequency similar enough to a baby's cry, because it triggers something in the brain that instinctively makes you unnerved. "Protect the young" is a pretty basic instinct, so "lol babby" swindling people into thinking someone's better than they are doesn't seem all that surprising.

The Amy-love-fest reminds me of the other TLC-hero-worship-fests. The Willis Fam....everyone thought the dad and mom were amazing parents and so "Christ-like"; then the penny dropped and we learned that dad had been raping his kids for years. The Roloff's were uber-Christian, little people who were all about advocacy: until they were revealed to be drunk driving, racist, bigots. The Gosseleins: not even going to start with how much fawning and grifting took place with this clusterfuck. The Duggars? Nuff said. My point is that TLC seems is the moth to the proverbial, dumpster fire flame. Frankly, the authorities should just hire TLC to find all of the criminals in North America because their track record is bangin'. So, the same people kissing Amy's ass and buying into the underdog story will be the same people who end up pearl clutching on Reddit in six months. And, we shall all be there for that glorious day. :)

It's amazing how many and what kinds of effects babies have on human brains. Their screaming for example, is meant to put us on edge and be as mentally distressing as possible in order to make us do whatever it takes to make it stop. It sometimes backfires so hard that it's medically provable that it's not always the adult's fault for shaking a baby that won't STFU for hours no matter what you do for it. Those sounds are hardcoded into our DNA to drive us fucking insane and the results can be heartbreaking.

We have evolved to be disarmed and manipulated by the mere existence of babies to a degree that it's just easy and convenient for manipulative people like TLC to use them to spin the narrative.
