The Thematic Apperception Test, a common psych test, involves looking at a picture and telling a story about the picture. The first picture is a boy looking at a violin.

An autistic person might say, "This is a picture of a boy and a violin," and if pressed for details, would only give a literal description of the picture. A psychotic person might give a long, rambling, disorganized narrative like, "This boy wants to play this violin but he cannot play the violin because he had to use the money for the violin to buy shoes instead. The boy's mother wanted him to have a new pair of shoes. The shoes were blue."

I feel like the problem with troons isn't so much the scraping together of experience into a narrative, it's the inventing personal details out of whole cloth and using those faux details as weapons against loved ones and society. It's very hostile.

I think that so many of them lying about having disorders of sexual development ("intersex") fits this pattern.
I wonder if Jungian analysis would benefit troons? A lot of them seem to be creative people, even Kev used to draw, and they also seem to be attracted to symbolism. There was a video on him, right? I seem to recall there being an interview where he talks to one of the genuine children in the new family he shacks-up with. Blair White (one of the better-passing MtFs) always wears softer/more “natural” makeup colors. I think it would be an interesting take on the approach. It would work on those who are just doing it to ignore other mental problems, but I doubt it would work on anyone who has a sexual compulsion towards it.
