Getting there ... all the focus is on the Omi-cold case growth, but delta has almost doubled in the last couple weeks (80 out of the 90K daily recorded)

Gonna be interesting how long the government are going to stand off before they announce some more stringent knee-jerk policies.

I got what you were trying to get across and she is the most hateful and most spite woman on Twitter I ever encountered. I posted her tweets and her cohort imspeaking13 aka Kate’s tweets over the site and this is what you get with lockdowns and Twitter and mental illness, that comes out to her. Boy god is going to send her to hell when she dies. I feel like she is abusive to her kids as well. I think she might of mentioned she lives in Kentucky so better call CPS for abusive behavio since she is creating monsters.

Are there any statistics on mask compliance? Because someone should make a clipshow of mask compliance and vaccination/booster rates in various places followed by the inevitable announcement of new lockdowns there set to I TRIED SO HARD, AND GOT SO FAR

It's almost like your compliance doesn't actually work. I tried to tell so many people this, but they never believed me. "If we all just wore masks, it'll stop and go back to normal" became "if we all just got vaccinated and wore masks, it'll stop and go back to normal." It's like they're in an abusive relationship with the government, where the government beats them silly but reminds them how it's for their own good and "next time" they won't beat them so hard.

It sure is funny all of these damn dirty RepubliKKKan states ran by LITERAL MURDEROUS FASCISTS like Ron DEATHsantis have some of the lowest compliance rates in the developed world yet all have had their freedoms back since early this year or never lost them to begin with (except to the degree the federal bureaucracy managed to steal them).

The best artists, like John Lydon and Mark E. Smith, were true weirdos who are (or would be) still cool. Even the "manufactured boy band" Pistols said anyone who could afford to buy their album was bullshit. Kinda true.

The punk fan/hanger-on/tourist scene and the pop singles bands like the Clash were always children-of-privilege posturing. Eventually (sometime in the '80s) those assholes won forever. Some of them had great bands (e.g., Fugazi) but legit punk culture was destroyed—almost half a century ago. Nearly everyone who knew the real shit is dead.

"Punk" is a purely managerial-class phenomenon, and it acts like it.

@ianmSC on twitter posts graphs comparing two geographically close areas, one with masks and other not and their infection rates. Usually they are basically the same.
Also, the two proper control-grouped studies of masks showed they do nothing.

No, I just want to see how many people in places like New York City or [insert tyrannical European country here] wear masks and are vaxxed or not and then laugh how those are the areas which get the lockdowns and worst restrictions.

There are certainly going to be more deaths with Omicron; but as a percentage, much less than with Delta. I.E. there will many more infections but as a percentage far less death although the numbers will probably get somewhat impressive for a few weeks.

Frankly I'm glad Omicron is here - it is just what we needed, a sweeping, mild infection that will likely impart a good dose of immunity and work through the population quick enough so that we can call it a real wave.

It will be disruptive only because so many are going to get it, call in sick (but not die or need hospitalization) and come off work and businesses will feel is harshly (but briefly) but that's a temporary thing for 4-6 weeks and then we should be on the other side of it and have frankly, a pretty decent 2022.

All good news IMO.

For the unvaccinated it's a lucky break really where in far fewer will die, while getting some antibodies. If there is a lose side to this, I'm not seeing it.
