I was given a display graphics tablet for Christmas. Very cool! Except that it has seemingly sodomized my display driver mercilessly.

So the tablet is basically a third monitor with pen capabilities. I installed the drivers and software off the manufactures website. It didn’t detect my tablet. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It still didn’t. I uninstalled and reinstalled via the program’s uninstaller. It still didn’t. I uninstalled the windows default graphics tablet drivers. It showed up till I restarted my PC and then never showed up again. I manually uninstalled the manufacter’s drivers and reinstalled them. It still didn’t. At this point the tablet doesn’t even show up as a USB device on the Device Manager so that’s something. I tried installing some optional firmware. It still didn’t. All this while resetting my PC many, many times and also unplugging and replugging in my tablet many, many times.

So now I think “Maybe I should uninstall my old tablet’s drivers.” Which disconnected all my monitors except the graphics tablet (I have no fucking clue how this happened since my old tablet is just a slab of plastic and has no display capabilities). I now have no monitors except for this fucking tablet. Apparently one of them is still being detected, but nothing physically shows up on the monitor. I roll back my display driver and then re-update it. They still won’t work. I checked to make sure the option to extend my displays is still checked off, it is. To be clear the screen isn’t just black, they aren’t getting a signal from my PC.

I have absolutely no idea what to do. The USB cables on the tablet seem to all be working. My monitors definitely work. I have Windows 10, and this is a full desktop. What in the fuck went wrong here. All I can think of is that my monitors got disabled in the BIOS since you have to turn on the option to have more monitors in the BIOS + use extra monitors with different graphics cards but how in the absolute fuck would a driver for a fucking slab of plastic you draw on fuck with my BIOS?

I’m only asking here and risking looking like a giant autistic because Reddit makes me feel like even more of a giant autistic whenever I interact with it in any shape or form.

Try booting in safe mode to sort out your driver problems. Try connecting only one monitor at a time to different connectors, to narrow down the problem.
Try uninstalling your graphics card drivers and download/install the newest ones. Make sure to reboot after every change.

Weird stuff can happen for all kind of reasons and doesn't always make sense.

Sorry but once you pop the cherry you have to take responsibility

The fact you've got an art tablet probably means you're like a tumblr person and deserve what you get, but have you tried using actual system restore rather than just rolling back your drivers? I'm pretty sure "Please help me un-fuck my PC" is exactly what it's designed for.

You could also try doing a repair install of windows if that doesn't work.

As for why the tablet isn't working, who knows.

this probably won't help you but if it was me i'd have set a restore point or something before i started dicking around with new hardware
edit: yea yea i was late by like a second

Need more information:

1. What video card do you use?
2. What is the manufacturer of the tablet
3. Are the video card drivers upto date on your video card.

NEVER ALLOW ANYTHING TO TOUCH YOUR BIOS FROM AN UKNOWN SOURCE (This is like walking into a gay bar in NYC with a sign on your ass that says "FREE HOLE")

Is there a penis located in the charging port?

Important questions:

Brand and model of the tablet. If it's chinese mystery shit then the solution might be something stupid like running 32bit Win7, alternatively trawl through chinese forums for working drivers that hopefully isn't a virus.

What graphics card are you using?

What physical connections does the tablet use? Where are you plugging them in? If you connect the supposed HDMI cable into the IGP port(it's right there around the USB connectors) then either the tablet or the other monitors will not work, can't mix and match output devices like that and no Radeon, Nvidia or Intel drivers will ever fix this.

Sounds like maybe in Display Settings you configured (or it configured itself) it to only send an image to the tablet and not your monitor(s). It may not be a driver issue at all.

if that's the case the issue may very well be that he didn't hit the power button to the tablet to turn it on.
