I'm not an expert on trans fashion or anything but I'm guessing this is an attempt to hide male pattern baldness. Or AHS Liz Taylor is a trans icon, idk.

I do know however most cis women are very attached to their hair. To the point where an older woman in my family refused chemotherapy for cancer because she didn't want to lose her hair. Now this is not something I would have chosen as a fellow cis woman (by all means I would rather wear a wig than die of cancer), but it's a pretty good example of how attached cis women are to their hair. I know some women can rock a bald head, but most would never even try given how hair is so associated with feminity. And even if we do lose our hair, most still prefer a wig (or hair fibers I guess if you're Chantal).

What I'm saying is; I now associate bald heads with transwomen, whereas before it was extreme alt fashion or cancer. Wild.
