The last Democrat president to wear the uniform was Jimmy Carter.

Say what you want about Carter at least he was not lacking in personal courage. He was a nuclear officer in the navy during the first generation of reactors. He toured 3 mile island before they knew it was completely safe. Allegedly when they toured there was a lack of radiation badges so they gave them used ones. When they were initially tested the levels were near lethal levels and for about a half hour everyone thought that carter and his wife were going to die of radiation poisoning. When Carter found out he apparently chew the staff of the plant out up one wall and down another.

No. Gay stuff was largely people just growing apathetic to something not integral to them or their beliefs. Carter's greatest flaw wasn't a lack of intelligence, or a lack of courage, or any lack of personal character. it was in fact the opposite. He was unable to dirty himself enough to actually do the job.

He'd have made a really good VP in the same vein as Pence. By this, I mean the wingman to someone more bombastic and willing to play dirty. Trump used Pence to great effect in that role, and Carter would have been superior in that regard.

But not as President.

Neither. Not everything is some grand plan. The origins of "Latinx" are that a bunch of people have issues with 'gendered' language, but the entire Spanish language itself is innately gendered. So a small subset tried to make "Latinx" a thing and managed to drive a fair chunk of Hispanics away from them.

It was symptomatic of the rot, not one of the sources of the rot.

Step 1: Academia comes up with a stupid idea, as far left as it can manage based on current views.
Step 2: This idea is leaked to the proles on central nexuses like Twitter who disseminate it at their most liberal level.
Step 3: It's picked up by a bunch of low-level operatives who then pass it among the less liberal people to gauge reaction.
Step 4: If the reaction is positive or neutral, pass it along to higher operatives who either quash it or push it forward into the mainstream.
Step 5: Utilize for all the political worth it can bring.

Step 4 is the final and biggest quality control event. Also the point of no return. If it passes 4, there is no putting the genie back in the bottle.


Latinx is a case of this, where it was a bad call that's been hurting them ever since.
