Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Addition: On the Progs, @Snekposter has it right. The progs have very, very little offensive power but a ton of groundswell support which defensively makes them near unassailable.
So the progs are more like a parasite, will keep the host alive so it can live, but it is too entrenched to be cut out, and it keeps hurting like a motherfucker each time they take a bite.

Yup! But it is a mutual parasitism. They will never go Right, though can be depressed into not voting, and make up a... sizeable chunk for the Democrat voting base. About 30ish percent. And yet, without the Democrats as a whole, the Progs can't be anything.

They both -need- eachother, but both are actively hurting eachother. Them coming to heads in a conflict has been inevitable and building for a long time.

Well, yeah. Damn near every "issue" that wing of their party has is a third rail from hell.

Man, how did they get to this point, it seemed that the dems had they had their shit together back in Obama days, how were they blindsided by a bunch of amateurs with twitter accounts?

Noah Malgeri, an Iraq War veteran and Bronze Star awardee turned candidate for Nevada's 3rd congressional district is making some waves after saying that Mark Milley should be executed live on C-SPAN. Is it just me or does the Nevada-Arizona region just have a penchant for producing... interesting Republican candidates?
Amazing how no one has yet to resign nor has there been any prolonged "investigation"/public hearing. Absolutely ridiculous. Republicans spent up to a year obsessing over Hillary's emails. Democrats, 4 years on Trump-Russian collusion, but the fall of Afghanistan gets jack squat.

CNN is beholden to all three factions and is de facto the political analysis firm for the Admin. This means it's unable to actively fight back while presenting a hell of a target.
There is also one other thing CNN is Beholden too.

Big Pharma spent nearly 7 Billion Dollars in Advertising in 2020.

The issues were here well before Obama. Though he did exacerbate them. IdPol was always a somewhat significant part of the Democrat position, its just that the IdPol was more on centrally agreed upon topics rather than the absolute scattershot. The problem that was growing though was that while the Republicans had a hardened and sizeable core group of voters (White Christians) the Democrats... didn't really have any one voting group to rely on. Rather, they had to continuously do outreach in order to secure smaller minorities to pull into a coalition. This gradually divided the IdPol and meant that grievance mongers had more and more power. This was becoming an issue as far back as Clinton.

Under Bush it had more than enough time to fester, and Obama made things -worse- by explicitly running on it and driving multiple wedges into the American tapestry to force out more minority groups into the Democrats. But that's when the cracks began to show, as the focus on it meant the grievance mongers had -even more- power and they began to rally around issues that were mutually exclusive to each other.

Never forget about the Waukesha Massacre being swept under rug in a "bipartisan" effort by the Wisconsin senators.

@Gehenna, has Ron Johnson made up his mind to retire yet?

Do not forget CCP accountability with Corona.

Not even equal, they grant privilege, not equality. There's a key difference. Meanwhile, the Latino community seems to be the only minority group in large that is speaking out against the current cultural zeitgeist.

The Asian community seems to be apathetic about all that's happening. I haven't heard a peep from the Muslim community. The T is taking over the LGBTQ community by force. Don't even get me started of the Black community.

I'd say urban, but...
I'm honestly surprised that the Asian community is as apathetic as they are considering it's the Democrats that are openly stating that Asians should be discriminated against from colleges because they try harder.

Of course, let's also realize where the plurality of the #StopAsianHate attacks are coming from.

I actually disagree with the whole "Project Blue Beam" script. If real aliens did make contact with humans, world governments would likely be instantly hostile to them (although hostile in a diplomatic sense, not 'immediately fire missiles'; although we could have an accidental hostile incident of course) for the simple reason that the elites do not like the idea of their power questioned, undermined, or second to anything. It is the libertarians on both sides of the political aisle that would be friendly to alien contact, both for philosophical wisdom ("ALIEN SAID THEY DON'T USE GAS POWERED SHIPS AND HAVE NO GENDERS, EVERYONE LISTEN TO THEM!") and for profit ("Dude, they use thorium reactors. We could build our own in, like, ten years"). But the authoritarian left and right? Absolutely not, they have everything to lose from real alien contact.
And as for fake alien contact, most of the population simply would not go along with it without serious proof. Lights in the sky would have dazzled earlier generations, but the current population is very cynical of anything to do with authority. It'd take aliens coming down to their town and ordering the local cuisine for them to believe in their good intentions. Think about it, you can't even get rural populations to like [insert ethnic minority here], what makes you think they'll like aliens telling them what to do?
Sadly, as much as I like the idea of meeting Star Trek Federation-like Aliens that are only interested in gaining knowledge and seeking partners in exploration, there's sadly a high chance any ET contact might be akin to the Europeans coming to the Americas: either wind up conquering us because they find us barbaric and in need of enlightenment under their own religion or belief system, exploited for resources, or unintentionally decimating us out of ignorance of how the microbes they carry and are unaffected by just love to devastate either humans or some of the crops/livestock our current livelihood depends on.

They've been ignored in this country since the 90s with the LA Riots. Most if not all recent anti-Asian attacks in the US have been happening in urban communities. I would like to know how they managed to spin those attacks into Trump encouraging violence towards Asians with COVID.

Like they care about Asian-Americans. They've blended all immigrants from the Asia continent as just Asian-Americans.

iirc there's a series of books where the ayys show up to eat humans and then Dracula is like "the fuck, assholes. that's MY lunch"

I can assure you that space is large enough and resource-rich enough that any alien civilization capable of FTL travel out there would not care. There's zero evidence of any megaprojects like a Dyson sphere in the observable galaxy, so we're pretty safe. It's really only a scenario like in War of the Worlds - where you have you civilizations on planets right next to each other - that you actually run into a situation comparable to Western colonization.

ANY comment against the Chinese government got spun around as "you hate Asian Americans." You couldn't just hate the CCP, or even JUST Chinese people.

I keep seeing these "Why we are alone in the Galaxy" or "why we are not alone in the galaxy" clickbait articles and honestly I have no idea what even the hell to believe anymore.

There's either a billion civilizations waiting to kick over our sandcastle or we are absolutely positively the only sentient beings in the entire universe. Depends on which youtube video you watch.

Depends on country and class, really. Vietnamese are relatively more based because they tend to do more blue-collar jobs like auto-repair. Chinese tend to do white collar jobs like attorneys and doctors. When people say that Asians do well in school, that also means that they absorb the school's culture as well. That also includes CRT nonsense, so second generation types think they can leverage it... and fail utterly because of their high class.

All of them respond to authoritarian state measures though. I've never met any East-Asian with a rebellious spirit. Part of it is that politics simply is something they can't influence. The Dems can do without any Asians and can choose to provide token resources to help them, but they're also really NPC themselves. They've bought totally into COVID and have no desire to question the differences between propaganda and reality.

Asians are not all one so it depends on which kind of Asian as pajeets and chinks love Biden compared to other Asians.

As far as the muzzies go, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Talib have destroyed the reputation of American muzzies for a long time and depends on which kind of muzzie as well since muzzie is more of a religion thing than a race thing.
