Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

That's nice Harris, but what are you going to do about it? Oh yeah, nothing. Thanks for playing, though! :hah:
if only her party was in power, shc could do something about it. but they are only controlling the presidency, the house, half of the senate, and most of media are sucking them off, they simply don't have a way to do anything!

A personal theory of mine is that aliens see us the same way we see an ant colony. Ever try talking to a colony of ants? You can't. And they can't talk back to us, either. Except maybe to bite and sting us if we get too close. The whole concept of a literal species of giants roaming beyond the ant hills doesn't even register.

Any alien being of sufficiently higher intellect will likely see Earth as one giant ant colony. Fun to observe, but they might just get bored and do the equivalent of dumping molten aluminum down the ant hill to make some admittedly cool art. But more than likely our little blue, green and orange-ish ball won't get so much as a second glance....and thank [add your favorite deity here] for that.
I quite like the take in the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still where the aliens are benevolent. But they see us as the problem. Nice moment when the female lead realises that by "save the Earth" the aliens mean "from humans".

Anyway, this thread is starting to resemble the inside of Joe Biden's head. Back on topic, I'm now at about 80% confidence that there's some plan to "reset" the US dollar. Maybe that's a new global digital currency that the wealthy will be buying into and the US dollar becomes a currency for the non-owning class. Maybe it's something else. But the printing of money and the debt relief plans etc. are so obviously unsustainable long-term, I'm finding it increasingly hard to believe this is just panic and pandering on their part. Though if it is, that's darkly hilarious given how much all of us critics are looking for a hidden master plan.

Are Harris & Biden fighting? Rhetorical question but still

Harris says Americans under the pressures of student loan debt 'are literally making decisions about whether they can have a family, whether they can buy a home'

  • Vice President Kamala Harris said the White House was seeking a way to "creatively" address student debt.
  • The Biden administration in December announced student loan payments would be halted until May 1.
  • Harris said "we have to continue to do what we're doing and figure out how we can creatively relieve the pressure that students are feeling."
Vice President Kamala Harris in an interview that aired Sunday said the Biden administration was working to find a way to "creatively" address student debt, citing the pressures it causes for Americans.

"I think that we have to continue to do what we're doing and figure out how we can creatively relieve the pressure that students are feeling because of their student loan debt," Harris told CBS News' Margaret Brennan during an interview on "Face the Nation."

Harris said that Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona was "working on what we can do and must do frankly to relieve the pressures of student loan debt."

"Graduates and former students across our country are literally making decisions about whether they can have a family, whether they can buy a home," she said, adding that she previously had student loan debt.

"And it's no small matter, and we need to figure out a way to relieve debt. So it's a fair issue in terms of the seriousness of the issue,"she said.

The administration of President Joe Biden in December extended the federal pause on student loan payments, allowing borrowers to avoid paying until May 1 as the Omicron variant of the coronavirus causes COVID-19 cases in the US to rise.

"Voting we've discussed, it is a very big issue, and what I believe we must do is continue to be vigilant and fighting for folks who have a right to be seen and their circumstances to be heard and understood because we have the ability to actually alleviate the burdens that people are carrying that make it difficult for them to get through the day or in the month," Harris added.

"This additional extension of the repayment pause will provide critical relief to borrowers who continue to face financial hardships as a result of the pandemic, and will allow our Administration to assess the impacts of Omicron on student borrowers," Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said in a December 22 statement.

"As we prepare for the return to repayment in May, we will continue to provide tools and supports to borrowers so they can enter into the repayment plan that is responsive to their financial situation, such as an income-driven repayment plan," he added.

Some Democratic lawmakers, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, have called on the Biden administration to go futher than delaying debt payments, asking the president to cancel $50,000 in student loan debt.

During his 2020 campaign for president, Biden pledged to forgive "a minimum" of $10,000 of student loan debt per person.

"Young people and other student debt holders bore the brunt of the last crisis. It shouldn't happen again," he said in a March 22, 2020 tweet.

So far, he hasn't followed through on that promise.

The answer to fixing the student debt crisis isn't to give free money to dipshits. It's for people with student debt to form giant class-action suits against these universities for devaluing their degrees by debasing themselves with whiny activist bullshit that gives their graduates a reputation as potential liabilities for any company that hires them.

Lebanon hates Israel and is the primary foreign threat thanks to Hezbollah being ready to shoot around 50-100k guided rockets at Israel as soon as Iran tells them to. Egypt and Jordan vaguely tolerate, Syria hates but has no power to attack, Lebanon hates and has power.
I thought the Kataeb Party were pro-Israel?

Only if they are hot tbh.

Edit: Which, to be fair, xenomorphs are pretty good so maybe that's not a good thing. We will surely die if they are hot.

They don't have to get us to like it. Troon stuff is now getting embedded in corporate HR sensitivity training, and they're getting Republican officials in R+20 states to back off popular attempts to restrain it. The populist anti-troon energy will dissipate, since nobody in a leadership position is giving it legitimacy. "Accept this, or lose your job," has a lot of cultural force.

"Do this or lose your job" is powerful but it's also something you cant overplay or you start facing major staffing and logistical problems as people say "You know what? Fuck you AND fuck this job"
hey, guess what's happening right now?

During the Civil War yeah. I will say Israel didn't help itself though. The IDF was too aggressive and intervened too much in Lebanon (e.g occupying territory well after Fatah had been expelled). It probably alienated demographics that could eventually be more favourable to normalisation.

From what I’ve seen it’s much more lowkey and sinister (e.g using “pregnant people” with regards to maternity stuff)

Good.

Just modern darwinism in action. Also lol at Harris trying to salvage her career at this point.

This is like seeing a bunch of people that continue to bang their head against the wall while blood drips from their faces

Content Creators... MOVE THE FUCK ON! YouTube is not going to cave in to your demands to make the site better, it's only going to continue to go downhill. Go somewhere else, promote that site, and help it grow to be bigger and better than YouTube.

And if you're that much of a kike about revenue, just set up a fucking Subscribestar/Patreon account and be done with it.

The problem is never the problem. The problem is that Republicans are POUNCING on the problem.
They believe that the problem with transgender people raping teenage girls in bathrooms is that people will get mad at trannies when they find out about it. They don't give a fuck about the girl being raped.

Ironically, they also have ZERO issue with women making false rape accusations, and if you DARE mention that men are having their lives destroyed, they cry "WHY ARE YOU DOWNPLAYING RAPE?!" As they let trannies rape underage girls in bathrooms and make YOU the bad person in that too for complaining.

CNN: "lets go brandon" is fundamentally about insurrection......the republican party is insurrectionist.

The first comment under that tweet sums it up perfectly. It's okay when THEY do it because Trump/conservatives are truly evil.

Some of these people legitimately believe that Trump or DeSantis winning a fair election in 2024 is exactly the same as in insurrection/coup. Trump winning a second term is proof that Democracy has failed because they didn't get the result that they wanted, and they are on the "good" side.

Funnily enough I've heard some Protties say that when the rapture happens the government, under the orders of the Catholic Church, will say that aliens decided to do mankind a favour by taking every member of Steven Anderson's congregation off to Neptune to be ritually massacred or something along those lines.
What I've never got about this sort of conspiracism is that it implies the Pope, or the Superior General of the Jesuits, or whoever, knows about the Rapture and chooses not to believe in it. If you knew that you'd get a mansion in Heaven purely by saying the words on the back of a Chick tract and listening to a fat man in a suit shout about whatever takes his fancy for an hour every Sunday, then why would you turn that down for a - relatively brief - bit of temporal power?
Arrogance, Demonic possession, believing Satan's lies. It's sad, but the truth is there are a lot of people out there who believe more in the occult and magic then god, not realizing that literally any power besides god's is that of the devil.

I mean in all honesty, if magic actually works why isnt everybody doing it? Because it brings uncontrollable ruin. It's like playing Russian roulette with a loaded gun.
The actual answer may not be so black and white. We're obviously off topic to this thread, but consider watching this video:
The long and the short of it is that sightings of UFOs and the mysterious beings that are associated them long predate the modern Alien Hypothesis, and in the past were directly described as angels, demons, fey/fairies, strange inventors from Europe (no really), and then only in the 30's and 40's associated with the kind of aliens we describe them as today. The general assumption we have is that previous generations were wrong, and we are right, but what if we're just as wrong as the ones who described very human pilots exiting UFOs and asking for glasses of water before going into a long winded explanation of how they work for Thomas Edison? What if the alien theory is wrong? Where does that leave us?
Probably something interdimensional, and something that is good at manipulating human culture and perceptions over long periods - guiding us somehow. In another video in that channel, the "Airship sighting craze" of the late 19th century is linked to changing public perceptions on the feasibility of heavier than air flight - taking it from "physically impossible" to "just around the corner". Without that airship craze, the Wright Brothers may never have been taken seriously or attempted their experiments at all. I'm not acting like I know the answers. That's the point of this. We don't know and have thus far just made very bad assumptions that are probably more reflections of our own life and times than anything real.

And if you DON'T buy the idea that UFOs are real, consider that there must be an alternative phenomena - that there is something inside of Humanity that keeps recurring across centuries that cause us to believe we've been in contact with something that comes from the sky. That phenomena would be just as intriguing as the existence of aliens.
Ive heard theory's that aliens are either time travelers or demons. Both are as scary as they are interesting.

Assuming no intelligent life has come to Earth. We can't even get a straight story on our present, let alone the past. As for travelling distances, we know quantum entanglement is a thing and we can replicate it, so teleportation of yourself, an avatar or clone, is within the realms of possibility, for our 70,000 year old monkey brain.

FTL is possible, even Einstein says so. In order to frig going faster than the speed of light, you just mess around with the Time portion of the equation. If 1 second to you is 0.000001 second to me, I am travelling faster than your speed of light.

FWIW there is Faster than the speed of light (300 million m/s) and then there's FTL which is about cause/effect, as in, you can't spill milk without dropping the glass. It's frustrating that NASA et al use the same FTL abbreviation to mean two things.

Sorry for the nerdlingering and check everything I have said, because it has been proven many times on this that I have no fucking idea what I'm talking about. So...take with a planets worth of salt.
What ever happened to that old device Nasa said was capable of FTL travel and they didn't realize how it worked?
CNN: "lets go brandon" is fundamentally about insurrection......the republican party is insurrectionist.

Keep poking with that stick guys. Im sure you can handle the point of no return just fine.
