I'm not going to watch these spergs go over Home Alone. If anyone did, did they say something retarded about the movie of note? I'd imagine there'd be a few "uhm, LOGICALLY and OBJECTIVELY(TM), they should be dead from the traps and the parents would be in trouble for child neglect"
Fun Fact: MauLer once said (I think on Reddit) that comedies don't have to adhere to logic by the nature of being a comedy.

Quinton Reviews actually works faster on his content and I cannot say with a straight face it's any worse than what MauLer does, right down to both sounding like they're rather do anything else in their videos.
The funny thing is, they could do anything else but are too scared or lazy to even try. What was MauLer doing before YT? Why not do that? Or if he is writing so many fucking scripts over consoomer shit, why not write a real book? They just can't move on form talking about things like they liked in their childhoods or media in general. Sad.

Middle ground option: copy movie bob and write a book on your childhood entertainment. It's not that far-fetched, such things existed before YouTube, and the bar isn't exactly high.

I think the main thing is that none of these guys are as smart as they think they are. They can never write a movie, let alone get one made, never make a video game, or even a simple book. They can't make anything, only nitpick things for 1/3 of a day. "A Statue Has Never Been Set Up in Honour of a Critic"

MauLer can't even make a review anymore tbh.

This fucking guy. "Your fanservice sucks, ours is good and has meaning". No joke, bringing in the old Marvel characters like the FF, Blade, X-Men, Daredevil, and even Ghost Rider would be fun. Just go with it and have a great ride. I'm sure it would be ruined because no one can make a truly great movie anymore, but it would be more interesting than more Spider-Men. That idea has now been done to death in comics, video games, cartoons, and both animated and live action movies.

Imagine putting out a fun comic-book movie idea and this asshole basically tries to say you're a retarded child, but him jerking off to Spider-Gwen getting BLACKED by Miles (both are overrated meme characters even by the time Spider-verse came out) while Tom's Spider-Man watches is great because it's "meaningful". MauLer is the kind of asshole that keeps saying dumb shit at a party, gets kicked out, then goes home and bitches to his internet fwends for 5 hours about it. MauLer has become even more pathetic than many "geek" YT channels and breadtubers. At least some of them go outside and don't talk about media for 12+ hours straight.

I think Mauler is also missing the mark on comic books. While there are more "serious" stories out there that really dive into a character or touch on significant events, there's arguably more "wouldn't it be cool if" comics. Comics in general tend to be skewed towards fanservice because it's more flexible of a medium. With TV shows, fan reception obviously still matters, but with the way filming works, some shows are stuck waiting for the next shooting schedule to make changes, so there are still a bunch of episodes that make fans unhappy. Comic storylines can quickly change based on editorial whims, for better or worse. Things can also be more easily retconned or set in a separate universe to experiment with.

It might not be a direct 1:1 with the movies and comics, but they definitely lean on the fanservice element. IIRC, people were disappointed with the lack of "Avengers Assemble", or not having the "with great power..." in Homecoming. And I'm sure if there was an FF movie where Thing didn't say "clobbering time" or a Hulk movie without "Hulk smash" there would be similar disappointment. I certainly wouldn't say it's the sole reason for the MCU succeeding, but the fanservice elements certainly help, that's why there are so many references and nods in each of the movies. The post credit scenes are basically all fanservice. And credit where it is due, I'd say the MCU does pretty good with their fanservice, it fits the tone of the universe. In comparison, having Mr. Freeze from Batman and Robin showing up in Dark Knight would be bad fanservice because it doesn't fit the universe. But having Chris Evans do a FF cameo in Marvel? That feels pretty on brand and potentially fun.

They weren't really overrated meme characters. They were seen as some of the only not-shit characters from the (on-going) hard-left era of Marvel that Marvel of course rain into the ground by trying to translate that into "better than OG spiderman" which failed miserably from Marvels end (even if most people thought his death was respectfully handled at the time).

Fast forward to Spider-Verse, and a lot of people were not looking forward to it when it was announced but lacked a trailer. Miles isn't hated, but he's certainly not a selling point. But a lot of people were won over because the film had this thing called ideas. Peter Parker as an adult isn't nearly as overdone in animation as in the comics, having both a new, practiced, and experienced Spider-Man (Miles, Gwen, and Peter respectfully) meant that we actually got to have both a Spiderman learning to be Spiderman and the well-established version with a twist.

*Asma Inhaler*

Of course, I don't expect MauLer to get the appeal of ideas in storytelling. There are no ideas on EFAP. Only facts and logic. And their superior feelings that objectively matter.

JLong has kicked the hornet's nest that is the EFAPshere because she didn't like NWH and doesn't think it is Oscar-worthy. I doubt she'll be booted from streams she's their diversity shield.

I noticed the comments reference Critical Drinker way more than MauLer when comparing opinions. Particularly that it's fine to not like the movie, say it has faults, or say it doesn't deserve an oscar.

Maybe he'll set up a debate again? Or is he past doing things like that? If I remember correctly, the last debate wasn't that bad.

Miles was always just "Black Spider-Man" and Gwen is a bigger forced meme than him. They even make fucking "Gwenpool" shortly after her design become popular (which is the only good thing about her). The "Spider Family" could have been as great as the "Bat Family" (though even that has been mostly crap for some time now), but they just had to add all kinds of dumb shit to it.

What did drinker think of it? IIRC, didn't Rags sperg out at drinker over some gay ghost show? Or was there a "debate" after that one? Also, imagine having a "debate" over a fucking movie lol

EDIT
Just want to point out the contradiction of this retarded title "The DECLINE of Disney's MCU | Spidey SOARS"
I am not going to watch this retarded stream, but just by going by the title, how dumb are they? If Spider-Man is doing well, then the MCU is doing well. What fucking idiots.

That title isn't really retarded. Given that No Way Home is a joint venture between Disney and Sony, they could very well just be saying how the only really good MCU movie required Sony, and Disney on their own has failed to impress. Granted, I also have no interest in the podcast so I'm not going to check it out either.

Without watching the stream, I'm just going to assume that it's them doing the "go woke go broke" cope again or something like it.

Easy to figure it out.

Black widow - woman
Shang chi - asian
Eternals - diverse cast
Spider man- white guy
Go woke, go broke.
I don't know about Tom but the other two Spider-Men are Jewish. Also, Spider-Man has always been a big character. The other characters have always been supporting characters at best. Plus, no one knows how to make a good movie anymore. Not even a lot of Asians want to see an Asian guy go on some shitty CGI filled adventure with "strong women"

Black Panther 2 will likely make a shit ton of money and the next Thor and Guardians will too. The main issue, they are no longer using A-tier comic book characters and are using their shitty bottom of the barrel "diverse" characters no one has ever heard of, yet alone gives a fuck about.

Jlong is probably the funniest in the EFAPSphere but she needs time to make her edits and gather her thoughts, she doesn't really work well live.

They have a thing against "rule of cool"... unless they think is cool (muh substanceee)

The objective train departed from this station a while ago.
