This is her just saving face. Almost all of NYC uses public transportation, and the subway is a BIG one (busses being #2), so imagine a crowded city filled with people that can't get to their home/work/etc... because shit is slow/late as fuck due to shortages. i think that would be one of the few things people would actually riot over.

It really isn't that much different than the complete narrative shift they did at the beginning of the pandemic. Pelosi down in Chinatown maskless telling everyone to come down and have fun because Trump was racist and overblowing the pandemic to take the heat off from his impeachment. They then went on to do the same thing with the vaccine itself, going from anti vax to pro vax as soon as Biden was selected.
