Parents who sit their kids down in front of YouTube’s child-freindly YouTube Kids version are in for a nasty shock.
The spin-off, marketed as ‘a more contained environment for kids to explore’ still contains material unsuitable for children.
Videos of stabbings and massacres are still watchable on the platform but escape the censorship because of their cartoon nature.
Within a few clicks, The Sun claimed it was able to pose as a five-year-old and access a cartoon video called I’m The Best Assassin.
The video shows characters being murdered with knives.
The site said other content included a ‘magic trick’ which showed someone shoving a fork in their eye.
YouTube said it responded to these findings by changing the age settings on certain videos – potentially shielding them from younger viewers.
A spokesperson for the company said: ‘Protecting our youngest users is a top priority.’

It's youngest viewers? Doesn't the TOS state that you need to be 13 to be on the site? Children should not be on YouTube period, especially toddlers, since they are unable to read and will let videos autoplay, eventually ending up on the weird fetish videos as the algorithm slowly suggests videos with topics that slowly deviate from the original videos just because they look similar.

I'll just add one question, if cartoon stabbings fuck kids up how the fuck are we alive as a species when most of our ancestors lived through legitimate, true and honest, horror of neverending wars? My grandmother has stories from when she was a kid that would cause most adults these days to shelter in place, shaking and crying, and she's alive, well and what most people would consider a picture of a normie.
Well, you see why society is currently so fucked now: our current young generation has been raised by helicopter parents who protect their kids from any kind of negative situation. No wonder they start crying and screaming whenever something doesn't go their way once they're on their own. They expect someone will be there to protect them, and if it's not their parents, it has to be the government.

Here's a novel idea, what if, and stay with me here, the parents actually parented their child?

I've seen so many parents do this, sadly. The mother (it's often the mother) is busy talking with other mothers or distracted with something else while they just sit the kid with the cellphone or tablet just watching so they won't bother them.

Personally, I think parents doing this should be charged with negligent behaviour, but whenever I suggest it, liberals and libertarians start screaming about their freeeedoooooom.

Oh no, 5 year old kids are exposed to cartoon stabbings?

When I was 3 I sat in front of cartoon crossdressing, shooting, taunting, implied suicide, abuse of the retarded and those seen as "different", abuse of alcohol, glorification of the Puerto Rican culture, and yes even stabbing (hey, Tom couldn't have turned into an umbrella without some sort of pre-penetration) and I turned out (relatively) fine!

I recommend anyone in here who thinks is isn't that big of a deal to make a fake kid account for Youtube or just open a private session and watch "for kids" content, let it run on autoplay either way. Let it run for a day and check in periodically to keep it going.

Eventually you get into some really fucked up stuff. At this point I believe Youtube is in on it because of how fucked up it is and that there are entire channels dedicated to it that are no doubt reported and yet nothing happens. You thought TV was bad? Youtube is genuinely terrifying, it sends kids down really fucked up rabbit holes and kids just let it go, they don't really click anything.

If you are going to let your kids watch YouTube throw it up on living room TV. The penalty for letting your kids watch YouTube kid crap is that you must be subjected to it it too.

Baby shark, do-do-do-do-do, Baby Shark...(:_(
