My usually well stocked store near me was virtually out of pasta.
Don't know where you are, but if you're in the US, check the "international" aisle in the grocery store, (might be called Mexican aisle depending on whether you're in a border state or not). The Mexican brand pasta is always cheaper than the US brand and is usually in stock even when the US brand is sold out because not everyone goes down that aisle.

Also, pasta is really easy to make. just flour, water, and egg. You can even make tons of it and then dry it out and store it as long as you can the store-bought stuff. Just sayin'

Went into Aldi this morning for a few things. I walk in and the "fresh produce" fridge section has blind-type things covering it and caution tape. This is where they keep certain vegetables and most fruits like raspberries. I could see behind the blinds produce was still there, just not a lot. I make my way around the store and the area where they have pork, beef, and poultry is completely vacant. This is strange because there are other meat-based products found in the store in decent supply. Because of this I couldn't get my loose-leaf lettuce I like but that was the only thing I couldn't get.

We had some bad storms rip through yesterday and last night so out of curiosity I asked the cashier. Turns out the power just shut off for like 8 hours during the night so they've had to throw out most of the meat and fresh stuff.

Last few times I've gone into Walmart and Aldi (main shopping places for me) I've not noticed any significant product absences. I have noticed that the juice section tends to have the most gaps in it, but there's still always juice there.

Once again... Walgreens completely out of Tylenol. Very low on NyQuil and Robitussin, but that might just be seasonal, who knows.

Saw that the candy aisle was thuroughly dry raped. Only a couple sad little Russell Stover Valentine marshmallow hearts boxes.

Let's. Go. Brandon.

I had zero problems with shipping this year. In fact, it seemed like it was actually less of a shitshow than previous years. I even got packages early!
All my USPS/fedex smart posts have arrived 1-3 days early for the last ~3 months. very strange.

The store i work at has not received enough medicine to fill out the shelves for months. We will get a handful of packages each shipment. Each pack usually contains ~6 boxes of pills or ~3 liquid medicine bottles (pepto/nyquil etc). Name brand stuff is very scarce. we get alot more store brand but still not much. Tums speciffically are very very rare. we only got 1 pack of the small pocket sized bottles in the last month.

Can I trade my USPS/fedex people for yours? They have been "losing" and having packages a week+ late for the last year.

Well aren't you a lucky fucker. Guess none of your shit ever had to go through Chicago, or if it did, you've been far more fortunate than I. I've had shit sit there 2+ weeks a few months ago, and up to a week a few times in the last 2 years. I had it happen once with international shit, and I get it, customs is a pain, but everything else is domestic. WTF USPS?

I'm willing to bet that there's seasonal pressure on most OTC cold/pain meds. Just because the Pravda has forgotten about flu season doesn't mean the flu forgot.

That's impossible, there's no Covid in China. They've had literally zero infections for most of 2021 according to them.
if they weren't so vital to the world economy, people would be calling bullshit all day long.
how does a super dense urban center completely get rid of covid. heck, those are the perfect conditions for more variants to pop up than anywhere else.
kind of like Kinshasa with aids.

I don't know what to tell ya, chief. The chinks are just that good I guess.

Maybe the chink vaccine actually works as a vaccine. And more likely maybe they are just executing infected

China admitted ages ago that they weren't counting asymptomatic cases but they're obviously still underreporting with the daily regional lockdowns

A bunch of guys in hazmat spraying down fucking tarmac to defeat coronavirus is top tier smoke and mirrors and I wish them a very happy debt crisis

The variants appear to pop up based on vaccination rates, that's why all of the dominant mutations since mid-2021 are based on increased ability to infect the vaxxed. Some studies report that vaccination has led to an exponential increase in the number of variants circulating out there. Delta and Omicron strain originated in India and Africa respectively, where being able to infect the vaxxed people in the cities gives it an edge over other variants.

Maybe in the Uyghur camps, but mostly what China does is lockdown a city (which is equivalent to a metropolitan area in the US in terms of size) in the Chinese style which means you get beat by cops in hazmat suits for trying to leave your house (unless you bribe them) and said cops deliver food to your house. Also they test everyone every single day, and even test their pets. If the pets test positive, they get shot, killed, or sometimes taken (probably to be ground up into food or maybe sold to a wet market). That's how China "controls" the virus and is what many progressives and literal communists believe is the "best practice" that if the world had only done from the beginning would have eliminated the virus.

This only happens in certain border areas like near Burma so most of China remains "free" from disruptions.

I wanted to make a roast next week and I went to the store for carrots and potatoes (already had the roast) ... and they were out of carrots. There was not a single carrot in the entire grocery store. I had to go somewhere else to get what I needed. Second shopping option was down to a single egg crate of carrots, which the poor girl was re-stocking and I thought she was going to slap my hand away when I went to take a couple of bags.

I am deeply concerned.
