All their movies since the original Matrix trilogy have flopped. They were given chance after chance after chance and just kept failing. So it's funny that they still whine about how studios don't give originality a chance and just want franchises and sequels.

If even Resurrections bombs hard (which should have been impossible just based on nostalgia alone), I would hope they never work again. But studios will probably still keep giving them money and hope they somehow catch lightning in a bottle again, even though it's clearly not happening.

I misremembered what I read earlier, Ill edit the post to reflect this. The government FAQ on vaccine workplace mandates states Group 1 and 2 industries total roughly 60%, and a further 15% or so must be vaccinated to work in the event of a lockdown.

I have had lots of issues since high school to be honest. Maybe going off tangent and venting a little, but there seems to be something fundamentally wrong with the time and a good chunk of my general age group. Being social is unusually difficult for me, not in the I am a sped way, but in the everyone is in their own world type of way. I have been waiting to leave college as I feel like it is my gateway into social activities which feels wrong to say. Throughout high school I feel like most of my friends were either burn outs who saw no value in leaving their pod of gaming past school, or they are so involved that all they do is an activity or a minimum wage job.

Personally, I found myself becoming super attached to a job just because it was where I had friends. Recently I left my job as I thought it would push me to get out with them more (got one with weekends off). I even got a little ballsy and asked a girl out there, but now I just feel alone as nothing got through. The girl I liked ended up getting a boyfriend prior to me asking, but we are still friends. I have tried getting her out for winter break, but with the current shit she will not budge. I asked all my coworkers if they wanted to do New Years together, which only garnered nothing responses, except for her who wanted to bring a friend. So, are we partying for New Years? Nope, she decided she feels bad last minute and needs to work that night as she is the only manager thanks to the pandemic and workers shortage. She and others pull this shit so often, I had to plan a group event 3-months out just to get anyone to go, and only 1/2 showed up. I love my coworkers and consider them friends but god damn do I want these years to be over so maybe I can go out and function like a normal 20-something, rather than dragging myself to see them at the old job and getting a sob story about how we should go out as it is normal (Too bad they won’t).

I hate these years man. Either my peeps are complete bums or they are scheduled to hell thanks to this workers shortage shit and not being done with college to move on. I just want a social life, why does something so simple have to come out like I am navigating a Disney trip to see these fuckers for one night outside of work.

The social issues are probably the biggest drag currently, which makes the lock downs seem so much worse as I am now losing even more time with people my age. It also keeps me in the house which means listening to parents’ Trump and Corona sperging which has been going on for a long while. Our country is completely fucked and none of the vaccines are working, yet all I hear from them is about the horrors of Trump’s lawyer and how they are going to get lessened symptoms with the vax. I am very tired at this point.

Not trying to invalidate your feelings here but as an almost 26yo, 20 is young. You have a lot of youth left, don’t FOMO yourself into further frustration. Also, the quicker you find out how to be happy alone the more life you get to live. You will look back and regret not doing things and going places because you were waiting for friends. Just focus on finding out who you are. You’ll find your people on the way.

Wearing masks even outdoors will be mandatory in Paris starting on Friday, French authorities have announced, as the country struggles to come to grips with an Omicron surge. France is leading Europe in new infections, with a record 208,000 new cases confirmed over the previous 24 hours on Wednesday.

That figure was preceded by a previous daily record of 180,000 new cases on Tuesday.

"I wouldn't call Omicron a wave anymore, I would call it a tidal wave," French Health Minister Olivier Véran told lawmakers on Wednesday.

Véran said that at the current rate, two people in France test positive for Covid-19 every second, noting that the situation in hospitals was worrying.

The mandate will apply from Friday to everyone over 11 except those inside vehicles, cyclists, users of two-wheeled transport like scooters and those doing sport, Paris police headquarters said in a statement.

Paris had previously mandated mask-wearing outdoors in August 2020.

I remember when I read an article that was supposed to be scary, and it said FORTY million Americans tangentially knew someone that died of COVID.

This sounds like a big number, until you realize that there are 330 million Americans.

So even if the number is true (I don't think it is, but Devil's Advocate here), 40/330 = 12%. That means SEVEN out of EIGHT Americans did not know anyone that died from COVID. But 40 million sounds scary.

As an aside, I feel awful for people under 25. Not only have they had their lives destroyed and been made to feel guilty about it "to save grandma", but these people are probably going to be scared of viruses for the rest of their lives. For the next decade for sure.

I don’t feel bad for the ones that voted for Biden and other politicians that were in favor of lockdowns. At least with trump there was the ability to put pressure on him to push back on it. With Biden and the left, they will intentionally do things to fuck with dissenters so no chance they will change their mind or turn back from insane ideas. They let these people steal the best years of their life without a protest or fight. I know he runs his Boca Chica Starship site in Texas normally with no mask policy. It's a good interview, and he is against, the "woke mindvirus" and they talk about it. I'm not so sure. It says the definition is being amended, not clarified. It's listed as an addition to the law. It's kind of weird they are amending it onto computer fraud though, considering if one had a blank card and wrote something onto it, it might not even involve computers at all.

The computer fraud one makes sense to me, I think that one's to cover falsifying any database records on the vaccine provider's side (or the electronic vax passport apps). Which potentially means that if someone goes to the doctor and has them falsify whatever vaccination records they keep, as well as provide a fake vaccine card for the "patient" to take home, you're looking at not one but two Class E felonies right there, if the prosecutor wanted to be a hardass. And that's not counting tacking on a conspiracy or solicitation charge on the patient for requesting the database falsification. Ugly.

Anyway, I'll take another look at the statute updates this weekend and see if I can figure out whether it is an amendment that merely clarifies existing illegality (think something similar to the bill that got passed a few years back in VA that clarifies that all statutes that say "he" should be read as "he or she", and that's why "Miss" Chris-Chan isn't off the hook on a rape charge because the law still uses male pronouns), or whether it is actually criminalizing an act that wasn't previously criminal (or was perhaps formerly a misdemeanor and is now upgraded to a felony). I'm curious to know for sure myself, and given some of the conversations people have had about cards and apps, I'm sure there are some readers who'd like to know for more... practical reasons. (Dear readers who that last comment may or may not apply to, if you did something, get your ass to a lawyer ASAP.)

If it ends up being that faking a vax card is now illegal and wasn't earlier, it would have to mean that whatever system they have that's flagging forgeries is aimed at ones dated 12/23 and newer, and that there's just that many people in NY faking cards, if it's blowing up that law firm's phone with people calling in about it. Given how insane the mandate in NYC is, and the size of the population, that doesn't seem impossible to me.

That's all well and good, but when you get to that stage in a discussion with someone, is there any point in wasting your breath? You've been demonised by merely bringing it up, and further discussion is a lost cause, as it's no longer about reason but rather emotions, which are often irrational. And you can't logic someone out of irrationality.

Rather, it's best to try to convince them in ways that don't produce this knee-jerk thought-terminating response in the first place. If your message does eventually get through, who's to say you can't revisit these discussions then, when they're probably more level-headed and collected about it? And for my friend, something must be getting through, because he's only had the first jab much earlier on in the year, and he hasn't been complying with the mask mandate. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless, which I guarantee you would have been impeded by drawing out discussions on overly emotive topics. Today was the deadline for people employed in roughly 60% of all jobs to get their first vaccination dose in Australia. Some industries technically had earlier deadlines, but its about 60% cumulatively now. And a further 15%? Cant operate during a lockdown without vaxx.

I listened to a 'Covid expert' on ABC a couple of days ago. He was droning on about Omicron and the vaccines. Of course the vaccines are working, yes probably everyone who's vaccinated will catch Covid but that doesn't mean they aren't working. We still need to make everyone take the jab, it's the only way to stop the spread as the vaccinated are 10 times more likely to catch it. Also we must make all the dark people in the third world get the jab and then we'll eradicate Covid. Also Covid is with us forever. All these things were said in the same 5 minute conversation. It was a torrent of verbal diarrhoea, a series of bugman talking points that made so little sense that even a literal window licking spasticated r.etard should see it. I imagined all the grass eaters nodding to each other and agreeing furiously.

Personally I don't want to tell my grandchildren that I behaved like a faggot during the great coof scare. And as I'm not getting any of my kids jabbed at least I'll have grandchildren.
