If there's one thing to know that Thomas here doesn't know any Native American/ First Nations is that he keeps talking about "Elders". Elders today are seen as being no better than thieves by the younger generation because 1) all the money that the government gives to their tribe is given to the Elders who keep the majority of it. (Ever wonder why they have nicer homes than anyone else?), 2) Elders can be easily be bought out by corporations and the government to get land taken from them. 3) They will stop Police and investigators from searching for missing people, that includes their own women and children. They're more than happy to sell their own people into the sex trade if it means a little bit of cash.
