Pretty interesting...I was talking to a guy on this thread (who I shitted on and apologized to privately), who gave me more the "flavor" of his brunches.

Pretty slick shit from Murphy, the brunches were a great way to get people into a room without having to pay for it and select some - if any - that might be receptive to his banter. The interesting piece of the puzzle was how he would flutter table to table quickly. Con men rely on the gifted skill of quickly spotting a mark through physical cues and quickly knowing if a person is going to be a target. Often they tell a tall tall simply to see if the person buys it - if they buy it or are so in awe they refuse to correct it or say anything, they know they've got a target in sight.

Sounds like the brunches were perfect ways to establish who would be a future mark; and inviting some people again who were already into his shit was a great way is using the classic cult "love bomb" technique to further find targets. Get them on board with the other "bros"

Clearly Jack had a hard on to start a cult and was well enough on his way...until this shit unfolded. I find the dynamics of cults alluring and fascinating.

If we look at the time line, Jack was a Real Estate Rep during boom times - 2004-2007; and yet he had a failed marriage with his wife who was in the trade and with an Architect (who then married his wife). I'm going to go out on a limb here that a large real estate investment went very bad leading to the divorce but also to his needing to borrow money. He burrowed it during peak times but stopped paying it back after the bust.

My bet is he stopped paying the debt back when the "other" people he probably owed money to start knocking on the door louder than Daddy. This guy has some skeletons alright.
