Yeah woman can be catty but by the same token women know when they’re getting the backhanded compliment. The fat girl is well aware what her so-called friends are doing. She just doesn’t have the self-esteem to tell them to go fuck themselves.

In person you might get the self-deprecating ‘oh you’re so lucky not to have kids’ when catching up with a childfree friend, but it doesn’t tend to work like that online. Mothers who regret it commiserate online with other mothers, not the childless. Childfree threads draw the attention of mothers who say they have no regrets and they post to tell the childless they should have kids too because they’ll never understand what real love is if they don’t, despite the long-term horrors pregnancy and childbirth can inflict on a woman.

Anyway, the only thing approaching a survey on this topic I could find with a cursory search was this which said the majority (75%) of childfree women don’t regret not having kids. It’s still a relatively new area I guess.

As a woman, it’s sickening to write an article openly saying you regret having your own children and I honestly don’t believe this is the majority - admitting something like this IS still a taboo in our society. I can’t think of one mother I’ve ever met that would dare utter such things because it’s common sense how damaging such words can be for children. Even if you really believe it, you don’t write it online in case your kid one day sees it. This is just common human decency.

The people that write that shit are female SJW’s - they don’t speak for the average woman who would be horrified at such a statement because it IS such a disgusting thing to think much less say.

I guess the good news is with all these zoomers being a biological dead end, those having at least somewhat normal families won't have to worry about them the same way we've been dealing with shitlib boomers all the way to zoomers. Mainstream media. They pop up every so often on news and related websites, and a quick google I just did to check turns up reams of them, accumulated over years. I think they usually try to anonymise the women, but not always. The point is usually more that they regret motherhood itself, not the actual kids, but it's kind of hard to separate the two.

Then there are the subreddits and fb groups. One of the big agony aunt columns in the US years (maybe even decades) ago put out some kind of call wanting to hear from mothers who regretted having children and had an overwhelming response but for the life of me I can't remember which one. And there was a very long running thread on some anonymous confession board years ago but I haven't been able to find it to post here. Will do some more digging later to see if I can find either but they may have long since been purged from the interweb.
