There were the 3 subreddit headmins who were definitely working for a PR firm (not employed directly but contracted IMO) but most people there were useful idiots. I spent a while on the sub just to study them and most people I talked to were Jewish (Hasbara and Hillel college kids) and flocked to the pro-Zionist stuff or Scientism-ists who loved GMOs and pharma or both. I don't think anyone except a handful actually received pay.
Don't forget that the convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell moderated r/worldnews for many years and that account, u/maxwellhill, was in the top 100 users for karma.

Okay, I'll bite. Why does one of the largest agricultural and chemical companies in the world, give a shit about what an online community thinks of them, especially since said community does not work in agriculture, or really any job, and also, doesn't bother to vote?

This makes as much sense as them paying a PR firm to infiltrate here.

they need public opinion on their side because if public opinion swings against them too hard then they end up getting cucked to death by a million regulations cracking down on GMO food, as is (was?) the case in europe

and unlike kiwifarms, reddit is very big and has a lot of reach, so if you can control the narrative on reddit that brings you one small step closer to achieving your propaganda objectives

Redditors don't vote.

Also, it's cheaper to just hire a lobbying firm to work on elected officials directly than it is to try an influence the percentage of the US voting public that bothers to vote in non-presidential elections.

The whole EU anti-GMO thing is bullshit excuse for EU governments to do blatant market protection against WTO treaties. It's a get out of jail free card and is used to protect grossly inefficient agriculture sectors. They use same excuse to block Australian meat imports.

Edit: I'm sorry guys, but your shit posting on reddit or any other website doesn't affect the real world as much as you think.

Conspiracies are stupid, no matter if they're spread from the left or the right. Reddit though never seems to debunk left conspiracies.
Factcheckers are just shameless journalists trying to rebrand themselves. Most right wing journalists try to reclaim the label by being "the last honest journalist". Leftwing and progressive journalists just rebranded.

AITA for taking too long to walk down the stairs?
This happened awhile back (19 yrs) when I (m46) was working at my office (Cantor Fitzgerald) one morning (8:46). I (m46) was sitting on my computer (Gateway Performance 1500) scratching my balls (left testicle) and pretending to do my job (accounting), when all of a sudden a plane (Boeing 767- American Airlines Flight 11) crashed (440 mph) below us (2-6 floors). Out of fear I (m46) dropped my donut (glazed) and wet my pants (khakis). The office is normally kept at a very comfortable temperature (72 F), but now it was beginning to get hot (110 F). My coworkers (658m/f) and I (m46) began to rush toward the stairwell (stairs) and try to walk down (101-105 floors). Most of the stairwells (stairs) were destroyed (plane) or on fire (jet fuel) but one was still ok (safe). Now I (m46) am a little on the heavier side (345 lbs), but I had been working out really hard (biweekly) so I felt confident climbing down the stairs (stairwell). I barged ahead of everyone (658 m/f) and began to walk down to escape the tower (WTC 1). However the smoke was getting thick and I was having trouble breathing (asthma). I began to slow down (3 mph) after 10 flights of stairs but my coworkers (658m/f) began to get angry. Then a little while later (9:03 am) we heard a crash (590 mph) and knew the South Tower was hit (77-85th floors) with a plane (Boeing 767- United Airlines Flight 175). At that point we new it wasn’t an accident (terrorism) and someone attacked America (Al Qaeda). I kept going but sweat was pouring down my face (bald-mustache) and my glasses began to fog up (bifocals) Still due to my less than ideal physical shape (fat) I couldn’t keep going and collapsed in the stair well. My coworkers (658m/f) couldn’t get around my enormous girth (345 lbs) and pleaded with me to get up. I tried to eat the emergency trail mix (snack) my pocket (khakis) to gain more energy but I couldn’t pull it out. My coworkers began to body shame me and say “We’re all gonna die because you’re so fucking fat and lazy”. I began to cry and refused to get up until they apologized. Suddenly (9:59 am) there was an enormous roar and the South Tower collasped. I tried to get back up but my rolls (love handles) prevented me from moving my arms enough. Three coworkers (m34-42) tried to help me get up but I was too heavy (345 lbs). Then (10:28 am) there was a loud groan and the North Tower Collapsed killing me and 68% of the employees at Cantor Fitzgerald. I did my best to get down the stairs but my coworkers fat shamed me and made me feel insecure about my body. They never thought about how their words would affect my self esteem. AITA for taking too long to walk down the stairs?

This sounds so ridiculous to me coming from germany, 100k/year are a goddamn lot here.

Its enough for a friend of mine as an income for a family of five, three cars and multiple vacations over the year. And he still saves up about 1.5k a month.
Aside from health insurance being cheaper which is around 800€ for his family, I dont even know why living in america is so expensive, doesnt america have the reputation of being super cheap?

The US is super cheap as long as you dont live in LA, NY, or any major city center. There are also some more expensive areas.

I live in a fairly decent sized town, with all the amenities. I make like $43k/yr. I have a house, 3 cars and a gun hobby, which is just as expensive as the car hobby lol. And I live in a more expensive state

Anyone who is struggling here on 100k a year is either trying to live somewhere super expensive, or living beyond their means

Maybe he was telling the truth but I doubt reddit appreciates such brigading efforts with the IPO coming.

On a happy note, this seems to be corrected. Also, the guy from reddit gets called out lol

More than one Reddifag has expressed their tyrannical desire for "no coof shot, no medical treatment" like the psychopaths they are, especially considering the abysmal cost of US healthcare in the first place. But let them keep being good little government pigs.
I love fighting back by saying "I just don't think the obese should get medical treatment, they made their bed and they can die in it"

Just to watch the mental gymnastics required to get out of it.

I could see someone honestly defending GMOs, and much criticism of them is hysterical or wrong or both, but I can't see defending Monsanto specifically without being paid for it.

Girl, you aren't going to find any feminist dick to suck on sleazy reddit, lmao:

>5'4"

So, it's clearly a morbidly obese womanlet - the only chicks that refer to themselves as a "BBW" are almost always disgustingly overweight, much like most women that call themselves "thicc" or "curvy".
The fact that she's also 30 but still using reddit, and specifically looking for a male feminist should raise more red flags for the average dude than a Soviet Parade.

Wrongthink is actually published, and many agree with it. Thread is also predictably full of troons crying about being outed as predators and nutcases.

The comments in that thread are hilarious. Suprisingly the mod there pinned a message siding with the OP and saying it was not bigoted

Here's a link for others who want to do some salt mining

The meltdown at r/AHS about the blocking feature is fucking amazing. There are actually nerds there saying they'll commit suicide because fighting "evil" on reddit is their only purpose.
I had only kinda skimmed over that feature announcement when I saw it posted here a few weeks back, but when you said "AHS meltdown" I looked further into it.

It's pretty simple: if you block a user, you can't see or interact with each other anymore. No votes, replies, PM's or even viewing each other's profiles. Mods can see your posts in their subs whether blocked or not, but that's the only exception. Apart from that, you are completely invisible to anyone you block, and you never see their shit again either.

This feature is so fucking brilliant I wonder if it's actually working as intended. I'll be astonished if they actually put this into production as-is once they realize it completely defangs AHS. I realized that's what this "meltdown" is all about when I was playing with the feature earlier today.

If you block all of AHS' mods and users (AHS instantly bans all wrongthink, so you won't have any "false positives"), you're effectively invisible to the pricks unless they're willing to start juggling alts. They're certainly insane enough for that, but it's more effort and it throws a wrench into their streamlined censorship process. Since redditors are super-proud of their internet points (especially the Mk. VI Offendatron Class crusaders), they're going to spend the bulk of their time on the site with their mains. If smaller subs start quietly encouraging their users to block them all and a trend gets started, AHS will end up toothless because the dipshits won't even see anything "offensive" anymore.

Hell, maybe the admins and owners are finally sick of this shit and this is their clever way of solving it without openly just telling the faggots to fuck off.

Pffft. What an amateur. Should have just put in a camera. They're cheap, easy to hide and unlikely to be spotted unless a deliberate search is made (and you've got bigger problems in that case anyway). Plus you're not stuck listening to a bunch of girls for hours if it really was an innocent "girls' night in" type of thing.

I recall this Alyssa Milano one that went quite awry
lol ... that slag only ever made a handful of meaningful contributions to the cultural zeitgeist and all of them were nude scenes. I can't believe she even has a career at all. Traci Lords has more acting "talent" than she does. Milano either knows somebody, has dirt on somebody, or has left her ass print on every casting couch in Hollywood to have even the middling fame she enjoys today.

Where's Tyler the Creator when we need him?

I sincerely hope this is a troll. It's such a damning statement about the "quality" of reddit's inhabitants that it's entirely unclear whether this is a troll post or not.

jfc ... defamation cases are generally pretty hard to win in the United States but this dipshit might have just handed his former employer all the evidence he'll need to actually do it by airing his grievances on reddit and not-to-subtly encouraging people to go review bomb them.

It's also possible that the owner is going to sue for breach of contract instead since this buffoon mentioned signing paperwork and being told the owner was pissed. Probably something in that agreement about not making disparaging remarks about the business whether employed or not. That won't be very hard to prove either.

Yes, 100k per year is a good income. You can basically have a one-worker household with several kids on that most anywhere, and still have some money left over. If you wanna send your kids to private school or buy a $700k house though, you'll run short quick.

At the same time, the US isn't "super cheap". Places like Eastern Europe and Beanerland are "super cheap". There are "normally" cheap places in the US where you can buy a big house for like $100k but they have very little industry and it's hard to make money there in the first place. Earning $60k/yr. in a place like that usually means you're making double the median household wage.

Finally, $40k/yr. isn't shit. In depressed areas it's certainly "enough" for a single person, but the budget quickly runs dry. You might take home $34k or so after taxes. $2k per month on mortgage, utilities, internet, food, and gas... maybe a little bit left over for a night out or two. Health insurance might cut into this, even good insurance is about $150/mo. for a single. That leaves you $10k at the outside for the year. Car insurance and other necessary spends, household goods, shoes, clothes, and so on cut into this. Need to buy ONE appliance or a decent lawnmower or something? That's a month's savings. Once you pay for big stuff and emergencies, there's not much left over. What are you gonna save, 5-6 grand a year if you live tight and don't have any bad luck? That ain't shit. That can disappear overnight if something blows up.

Anyways I dunno exactly how you're indulging your hobbies or if you live in a shack, but personally I'm not partial to buying junk cars for my lawn. Going to the track a few times a year might cost $3-4k once everything is said and done, and unless you're running a Miata those numbers are impossible to get down. Clean sports car will cost you 20k alone. It just doesn't add up. Forget having kids on that income too.

I add single moms and smokers to it too. All are a drain on the system. They really sperg out then.
