Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? I think he's moving it because that gives him what, a little over a week, to come up with a response to the inevitable Jan 6th shenanigans? Having a big event the same day just gives the Dems impetus to try and be loud and obnoxious in an attempt to drown him out, making it much easier for his message to get lost in all the noise, and I am damn sure they were banking on exactly that. Now the Dems are stuck with all of what, a day practically speaking to come up with a new plan and cancel whatever prior arrangements? I guarantee you they had all sorts of speeches planned about Trump's vanity and ego holding a press conference that day to commemorate his assault on Our Democracy. But without Trump as a focus, its just going to be a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

To be fair, despite the local governors calling in the national guard to do something and the feds complying, I'm not sure any one president could do anything more.

Of course its swept under the rug since everything is fine in BidenLand. It's realities apart from the real one.

Here in Wisconsin at least, that covid number has been hovering around 43% approval for a while. This state tends to be pretty representative of the nation as a whole, so i highly suspect that, like his aggregate numbers, they have been doing a slow climb down from the cooked numbers to reality.

Again, curious how the breakdown is on how people feel Covid and whether they approve or disprove based on handling of Coof or making it an issue of vaccine mandates. I'm assuming the former is a core Dem constituency while the later hates Biden.

And if its like that there, he is virtually sunk everywhere remotely competitive nationwide, and make some other states potentially vunerable. Keep in mind if Coof is his best issue at 43% approval, imagine the economy, or foreign relations, or immigration.

If I recall, Baris did mention in an episode that Biden's only able to doggy-paddle on COVID because of old people who disliked Trump's response and are clutching onto Biden in hopes that he'll save them.
