Kazakhstan unrest and future of the country - Protests erupt around ex Soviet country over fuel prices.

Keep in mind that some of these locations had significant Russian settler populations dating back to the Russian empire, decades before the Soviet Union came around. Sure, Stalin's resettlement schemes grew their numbers but a sizable amount of them have ancestry dating back to the 1860's-1870's.
And the northern parts of Kazakhstan in particular were recipients of heavy Russian settlement as part of the empire's multi-hundred year push eastward. The "neat" borders of western and central Europe are due to post-WWI and II ethnic cleansing. The soviet states didn't get except for kicking all the Germans out and thus there wasn't any actual way to draw a fair border with Russians all on one side and Kazakhs all on the other, not that they even tried. Heck, at the time of independence Kazakhstan wasn't even majority Kazakh, though I think it is now due to other groups moving out post-independence.

There's an armed revolution in Kazakhstan, the largest break-away ex-Soviet Republic. It might spill over to other regions and involve diplomatic brinksmanship in Moscow, D.C., Beijing, and the European Union.

We're just pure information. No spin, no glow-in-the-dark alphabet soup silliness, just a whirlwind of information, nonstop.

I'm expecting a 1956 Hungarian Revolution style crackdown by the authorities, almost everything is note for note repeating, including external troops coming in to smite the rebels. There is always the wildcard option of open civil war because Afghanistan has way too many weapons for peace time and they may migrate north.

I’m sorry but you may not realize that this week and in fact today is a time of solemn remembrance for Jan 6, 2021, the most significant event in US history other than when the slaves founded America in 1619. Mainstream media just can’t get to this right now.

By all accounts Kyrgyzstan of all places appears to be the most stable and democratic of the Central Asian republics. It's easily the most friendly of them with Russia, and hasn't really undergone the heavy 'indigenization' that the others have. Russian is still the majority language in Bishkek (though there are still considerable populations of ethnic Russians in Uzbekistan (Tashkent in particular), Turkmenistan and especially Kazakhstan where they're still ~20% of the population).
How is Kyrgyzstan the most stable when it had two revolutions back to back and apparently genocided Uzbeks immediately after the last one?

If the Jan 6 insurrection was real, American boomers would be Kazakhs (or other ball possessors). No efforts were made to neutralise Capitol / DC police or National Guard or provoke mutiny. Weak.

Anyhow, the Chicoms might have a big Evergreen shit on their plate, but a more neutral Kazakhstan would make them happy as a big piggy bank of relevant resources and usually a simple political system. It might not make the Kazakhs too happy as PRC follow a 'treat em mean, keep em keen' with clients.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is a glowie op as revenge for the whole mess with Ukraine. What I've gathered from this thread is that the underlying sentiment was already sour regarding the government, wouldn't take much to push it a little further, and the insane price swing in commodities over the past year would just be the icing on the cake.

Look at what they did during the Arab spring; in an authoritarian system(regardless of how prosperous it is) there will always persist a subculture of malcontents.

I have my doubts with the danger hairs and troons of the new CIA, but it could be like the overthrow of Mossadegh as Iranian PM. Kermit Roosevelt (I doubt the CIA has anyone as good now) did his thing, but the combination of court, officer corp and landowners was enough. What I mean is that local forces might be grasping outside help, but it could well be mostly local in inspiration.

Ukraine Ministry of Foreign Affairs on suicide watch, nobody cares about the imminent Russian invasion anymore. Darn that dastardly 5D underwater chess master Putin.

If not for the relatively modern clothing in the 2nd and 3rd pics I could be convinced these pictures were taken 30 years ago.
History does go in circles. That's why they are called "revolutions" - it's in the very name. Let's take a short trip down memory lane.

EDIT: I got a nice video of the current events, too. Here is what CNN won't show you.

Confirmed video of a detachment of Russian soldiers in Orenburg getting sent to Kazakhstan we also know the size of the force Russia is going in with, 3000.

From what i can glean from a few Russian telegram posts and Russian 2ch alot of people are mad that Kazakhstan cant take care of itself.

OPRÅB: Russian state Duma member Biisultan Khamzaev has put forward the idea of direct Annexation of the entirety of Kazakhstan, Biisultan heads the State committee on security and prevention of corruption

Sweet baby Jesus on a pogo stick, can we PLEASE NOT?! Pretty please with a Chistmas-themed Baikonur cosmodrome on top?! Let dear neighbors sort their own shit out for once, I don't want my taxes to be spent fixing their monkeyshines... AGAIN. They aren't exactly grateful after we do, anyway.

Supposed Journalist who has "covered wars you know?" is apparently taking credit for bringing "experience from belarus and Ukraine" to the Kazakh protests. Sounds like a raging fag to me.

Update:
Russian state duma member Ruslan Balbek has just talked with RIA, and has directly accused the instigators of the Kazakh protestors to be trained in Turkey under Imam "Fetullah Gulen", a supposed notorious Imam and all of his institutions are supposedly terrorist org's in Russia's eyes.

In short Russia is blaming Turkey for Kazakhstan.
Update 2:
Russian estimate of damages done during uprising is around 100 million US dollar

States plunged into anarchy are breeding grounds for crime syndicates and terrorist organizations; unless the russian government is going to directly profit or net some benefit by leaving a country they share a massive border with in a state of absolute anarchy for who knows how long they have every reason to intervene and reestablish order. Look at how many issue's the drug cartels cause for amercians, the only reason Mexico is left to stew as a den of criminals is because organs of the United States facilitate its continuation and profit from it.
