General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Ok, this was unexpected. Never made the connection before, and now I'll forever have this in my head.
(It has ES subs but Kson is speaking in english)

We will be closed for about 8 to 2 weeks when undergoing vocal cord surgery! As a treatment, it is about the second step! It's frustrating that it's not cured, but I'll do my best this year while going out well! Be sure to come back, so wait a little! We'll talk a little bit on delivery from 11pm tonight!.

My favorite JP singer having to have vocal cord surgery is very disturbing. :(
Jesus Christ.

She's suffered enough. I hope she finally gets a break health-wise, and maybe finally hits 1 million this year.

On the stream she said she has a mystery ARK collab coming up before she goes on break

Marine and Lui might need the same surgery in future too, hopefully they'll be less scared after this.

According to Selen, streamers can see their actual (at least, actual according to YT's algorithm, which was kinda iffy even before the latest drama) CCV numbers a day after their stream. Hopefully this will calm down the people worried about how their oshi feels about the number culling.

That's a culling of about 30%, which is about consistent with what I've seen Niji's usually get vs. the numbers being displayed for them now. Some are being hit a little harder than others but I'm glad Selen has stamped out fears that some streamers may be feeling disheartened by a sudden drop.

Cool to see someone from EN participating in a JP event/collab too, rather than it always being Oliver being everywhere since he's one of the very few, if not the only agency JP (not sure if Lui counts) capable of near-fluent English. Hope it can happen more often, this looks fun even if I can understand fuck all.

Petra is doing a TRPG with Oliver and Belmond sometime this week which should be fun. Elira was part of Belmond's watchalong stream during Koshien, and joined Kanae's NYE totsu with Reimu, so she's generally the most active when it comes to showing up in JP streams.

Im going to take a guess and say that she could be talking about the shit Vtuber cringe has been up to recently, ever since the Vox drama hes been getting more and more people questioning or calling his shit out because he often gives spotlights to obvious gay ops like the previous one and gives wierd non-answers when people call him out on that

Could be wrong, the twitter-sphere of the vtuber/vtweeter scene among indies can be really fucking retarded and its just that as a whole

Good on her for putting that out there! Not just for the "worried" fans, but this could be very helpful to other streamers too, if they didn't know to check back later.

So that's a drop of under 30%, but I'm certain (based on polls) we've seen worse before too. Would be cool to see if some other streamers drop some numbers, purely for interest's sake.

In case you were curious, this is what your typical vtuber soundproof booth setup looks like.
Shit nigga, didn't know they're proper rooms with a thick door too. No wonder they cost so much and take a long time to set up!
I always assumed their soundproof booths were just off the shelf insulation squares around some flimsy frames, but that looks like something you'd see at a recording studio.

Noel probably has the most expensive setup then Lamy. I wonder if Fauna also invest more in her setup (or get tips from Noel and Lamy) since I heard less and less background noises from her ASMR stream nowadays.
