IIRC Pompeo seemed to be one of the few men in the administration that was always on good terms with Trump. they have both lost a lot of weight over the last year (perhaps a coordinated PR thing?) and trump dropped the spray tan. Both have been fairly quiet since 2020 as far as i know and it would be like trump to pick someone he knows has some loyalty.

I am a...theatre person, have been since childhood, and was in I believe early high school when Hamilton was wreaked upon the earth. Most of the people I know who were obsessed with it or a big fan weren't big on theatre otherwise. It was only just Hamilton, maybe a handful of other super mainstream musicals. Because most of them also fit a certain type, I assumed it was, in fact, because DIVERSITY!!1!!111!!!!
FWIW I'm actually not big on musicals in general.

I know I've brought this up before but sometimes it's really jarring to me just how similar these people and the way they run government is to some fictional govbeasts in movies and TV. This shit honest to god made me think of V For Vendetta where the Norsefire government uses the entertainment media to deliver the propaganda to the masses and it's such a juxtaposition for anyone with two functioning brain cells who recognizes what is actually going on. On the TV you see some well known late night host screeching talking points, all the while most people are sitting at home shaking their heads at the TV wondering what the fuck happened to the world they remembered.
