Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

There's a interesting rant about how Quebec premier Legault aka Lego hold corona-chan.

In late November, as the Omicron variant was spreading throughout the world, Quebec Premier François Legault was trying to decide whether to increase the number of partygoers allowed to gather over Christmas to 20 — or, better still, 25.

Taking on his favoured mantle of benevolent father of the Quebec nation, Legault was determined to raise from 10 the maximum number of people permitted to gather in homes, starting on Dec. 23, “for the sake of their mental health.”

It was a crazy idea, but Legault persisted, and, on Dec. 15, he delivered. Quebecers in groups of up to 20 could celebrate Christmas together. A day later, he reversed himself. Legault told a news conference that the maximum number of people who could do so would remain at 10 because of rising COVID cases.

A week later, he tightened the vise again, and, on Dec. 30, he reimposed a curfew effective New Year’s Eve, by far the harshest measure undertaken by any Canadian jurisdiction in the current wave.

It was an almost perfect copy of Christmas 2020, when Legault announced in November that Christmas gatherings would be allowed, ignoring the growing case load in the province, only to reverse himself soon after.

While pandemic management in other provinces is a complex dance by the premier, the health minister, public health officials, and scientists, in Quebec, it’s simple. Papa Legault decides. Everything. And it’s a mess.

If Legault were being judged by Quebec’s performance during the pandemic, he’d be fighting for his political life. Once again, hospitals are overwhelmed, and the province is struggling with the most serious wave in the country.

Quebec has reported 117 COVID deaths in the past week, versus 81 in Ontario, which has 6.3 million more people. That means its death rate is double that of the bigger province.

During the first wave of COVID in the spring of 2020, when chaos led to the demise of thousands of elderly residents in Quebec nursing homes, the province at one point accounted for 60 per cent of deaths in the country. Things have improved since, and Quebec’s initial mass vaccination campaign was pulled off efficiently.

Yet Quebec still has the worst cumulative COVID death rate among the provinces, accounting for 33.7 per cent of deaths and only 22.5 per cent of the Canadian population.

The province’s rollout of booster shots has verged on the shambolic. Quebec’s director of public health, the clownish Horacio Arruda, said in November that Quebec would offer boosters to everyone over 70, but wouldn’t immediately follow recommendations of a national committee that said all adults should get their boosters, indicating that Quebec epidemiology was different.

It blows my mind that this guy smoked crack in the office on video and there was nothing they could do to get him out .

And then Canadians voted him back in...
Canada continues to disappoint.

Ontario's renewed lockdowns were mentioned by another poster, but this should give you all a better idea of just how desperate the federal and provincial governments in Canada are to keep this narrative running. Highlights are provided for those of you who don't want your blood pressure to spike.

-omicron supposedly has a 1% hospitalization rate (so, significantly more dangerous than all the other variants? lol)
-people usually stay in hospitals for only two days, not several weeks as with previous variants
-Ford continues to push boosters and preach the infinite good of vaccination
-"I say slow the spread, because iT CaN'T Be StoPpeD"

Mr. Current Year chimes in on the state of affairs in Canada as well, after receiving a question from a reporter who does not sound deranged at all.

View attachment 2863423

-the tone he takes is that of a school counselor telling children they are being very naughty, not the leader of a nation addressing the concerns of adults
-the unvaxxed are the only ones ending up in hospitals
-the unvaxxed pose a risk to everyone else and are the ones responsible for making lockdowns necessary
-it's never too late to do the right thing by getting vaccinated, and it will make that healthcare worker giving you the vaccine feel all warm and fuzzy inside
-casual reminder that you will for realsies get super intubated and likely die this time around if you don't get vaccinated

Outside of Ford stating that omicron spreads faster and hospital stays are shorter, everything presented is blatantly incorrect. Trudeau then does nothing but appeal to emotions, seeing as the facts aren't exactly on his side, and continues to paint the unvaccinated as plague-bearers. I'd say that Canadians should be ashamed for electing this slimy parasite three times over, but it's become clear in the past few elections that the nation's voters are incapable of higher thought.

Something worth considering with respect to all the talk of hospitals being overwhelmed, something which many are not aware of, is that flu season has always been a hard time for hospitals in Canada. They would almost always be running at 110-120% of their maximum capacity and no one ever mentioned this outside of nurses occasionally talking about how tired they are after their shifts. I suppose it wouldn't be a good idea for anyone to highlight that their nation's glorious healthcare system is frequently crippled by something as routine as a seasonal flu, but now there's incentive. It seems more likely that current issues with exhaustion are not to do with covid, but mismanagement. On top of medical staff constantly being threatened with firings, there's an endless cycle of staff being exposed to the rona, being told to stay home despite having been vaccinated, the remaining staff having to cover more work, them getting exposed, then others returning to be overworked themselves, and this is burning everyone out.

All the people I know outside of my immediate family have had covid at this point, and the only ones who had any significant issues had pre-existing conditions which would have landed them in a hospital all the same if it were any other seasonal illness.

People just need to calm down already.

Denmark is further along the Omicron wave alongside the UK and Australia. They also release excellent epidemiological data

Omicron has almost entirely replaced Delta Covid.

A week ago 95% of the samples sequenced were Omicron Covid. By now it will be 100%

These are confirmed cases from PCR testing and will be significantly lower than actual infections. Omicron is far milder so people are generally less likely to seek tests. PCR testing has become unavailable due to shear numbers. Rapid flow tests that show positive are not collated in the report. In Australia it's believed that the actual number of infections may be 5 to 10 times more than the PCR testing is showing.

But let's be incredibly conservative and take the case numbers at face value and say that Denmark is currently experiencing around 20,000 Omicron cases per day or 140.000 per week. How serious is it in terms of hospitalisation and mortality?

1641570090001.png

The UK has just reported that 40% of all of their hospitalisations with Omicron are entirely incidental. In other words Covid-19 played no part in the decision to admit these individuals into a hospital bed. I would think similar with Denmark. Assuming all of the hospital cases are because of Omicron we get a hospitalisation rate of around 0.5%. If 40% of the cases are incidental we're down to 0.3%. If the reported case to infection rate is off by a factor of 5 we're down to 0.06%. If it's off by a factor of 10 we're down to 0.03%. Despite the huge numbers of people becoming infected the morbidity rate is no worse than the common cold with the total number requiring hospital admission similar to a mild flu season.

God, that fucking shrew.

Grave danger, will Robinson, grave danger, grave danger, grave danger, grave danger

I keep turning on the Supreme Court hearing and then turning it off because these people are so fucking stupid. I shouldn't be shocked by anything at this point, but their voices sound so weak and so insufferably hatable that I am actually clutching my pearls.

But I started thinking. If SCOTUS says this bullshit mandate is ok, it is only going to fuck the Democrats harder as they go all in on these vaccines that... don't stop transmission in the slightest. You'll have people quitting their jobs in droves (and watch as the definition of "fully vaccinated" gets ratcheted up to be three, no make that four, actually five shots...) with "cases" continuing to reach all time highs. Not implausible to imagine that the economy well and truly would collapse assuming the powers that be refuse to let up and people refuse to play along any longer and get any more jabs. Watch these megacorps literally run out of workers as people who are done with this bullshit sit at home, collect their Biden bux, and bide their time till Noevmber. I don't blame them. The red wave will be awe-inspiring.

I have to share this, despite not caring anymore.

(Timeline, somewhat relevant)

Xi'an, China, ran by a bunch of corrupted (SURPRISE!) retards are trying to contain Omicron. Their method is to convert every public facility into a one-way concentration camp. At least Auschwitz had football fields and swimming pools.
- Just then (around an hour ago), a man died because the hospitals weren't allowed to take in "external" patients due to quarantine rules, he visited 4 or 5 according to the title
- At least 2 abortions occurred because hospitals can't take in patients, one pregnant woman was escorted on a POLICE VEHICLE, they visited 3 hospitals none of which were "allowed" to take in patients.
- Photo above, this guy is not Japanese by the way, he is the "minister of abortions health", apologising for his government's trash policies murdering a baby.
- The timeline said one of the hospitals was "for profit", okay. So the two others weren't?! Then why does that matter again?
- The ex-ministry of propaganda and Xi's own pet Hu Xijin actually went on weibo to run damage control, arguing with people who were criticising the Xi'an government, lol. Lock that cage and flush the key, no one wants to see that barking mad puppy of yours.

By the way, I said if I were the cop, I'll just pull out my gun and coerce whoever into accepting the pregnant woman. Turns out I forgot that most cops in China are reluctant to carry guns, lol. If you want to feel even more embarrassed, remember this. China now officially allows 3 kids and there's no longer penalties for going above that number. I'm reading 2 abortions so far, how's the policy working out again?

I've also seen photos of the quarantine and medic food, won't share it because it was sent by a friend who's a medic doing covid antigen tests. It's rubbish, it looks like leftovers. Plain hard looking rice, some sprouts and carrots, and a pathetic piece of pork. This is what their government is feeding medical staff. The animal that porkchop came from probably had better meals. Believe it or not, according to him, a bulk of people tested positive likely got it from the queues which were many hours long. They are required to be on duty for 24 hours a day. This is China and their rapid test things, I thought an autocratic unitary state was supposed to be efficient. It's not that 7-hour hellscape I had to endure here but I was in my car.

The food he showed me was worse than this, which the medic called "feeding a rabbit" in this image. That white sphere is likely an undercooked, doughy dumpling. Even Ethan Ralph and Nicholas Fuentes is eating better food than this.

Small neighbourhoods aren't allowed to oven their gates, mandated by the state. There was a fire.
Firefighter was denied access.
"There's a fire, it will kill people"
"Okay, climb the fence, I won't stop you, but the officials said we're not allowed to open the gate".
At least Auschwitz had railroads.

Remember when CCTV showed an embarrassing, out-of-context clip of workers cleaning up the Florida condo collapsing disaster?
View attachment 2867264
Say hi to Xi'an workers doing the same thing, but in a completely unnecessarily stupid manner. Ever heard of a tricycle? Maybe a trolley?
View attachment 2867265
Clearly the roads weren't closed because a tricycle passed by!

What a spectacle.

It warms my heart every time I see it. China able to cheat and shortcut at everything except where it fucking matters. You all will get what you fucking deserve, and it will be glorious.

Yea i just checked it is a troll. Number leads to a gay bar called "The Chapel" (Archive: https://archive.md/nKdSQ )
Yes, when I think of communities known for being cautious and civic-minded when it comes to public health, West Hollywood gay men are totally at the top of the list.

Sorry for double posting, I'm going back to being Mad On the Internet silently

They'll just cheat again. But honestly I don't care what bullshit laws or mandates they pass, I will not comply with them. And if that means the economy or country falls apart then so fucking be it -- I will not put this poison in my body no matter what.

Drudge has this update:

COVID CASES USA
727,863 JAN 6 2022
255,966 JAN 6 2021

DEATHS
1,843 JAN 6 2022
3,964 JAN 6 2021

In other words, the vaccine doesn't work, but it doesn't matter, because the CFR has fallen from 1.5% to 0.2%.

Congress has no power. The GOP taking Congress will be somewhat frustrating to the Biden admin because they won't be able to pass transformative legislation, and to any Democrats who get kicked off the gravy train, but they won't be able to change any laws, meaning they won't be able to actually do anything about Biden's executive authority...not that they would. After 6 years of watching Obama do whatever the hell he wanted and abuse his power in myriad ways, the Republicans came up with a grand total of
Z
E

ways to legislatively rein in the executive branch. Instead, they came up with a tax cut and a plan to cripple their own party's President with a Russian spy frame-up job. Never forget that.

Here's fun food for thought - how would the government even manage to enforce it's will if things get worse and more repressive when their military and law enforcement toadies are all out sick or dying from vaccine side effects?

I have a funny image in my head of chad looking rebels outrunning out of shape cops who are keeling over and collapsing in chase because their hearts can't take any physical activity from getting a 5th or 6th dose
