It's a meme, but I'm pretty sure this is just a blowback from the "ban" (aka copyright striking) of react type content of TV Shows from Twitch

Watch as Twitch streamers start reacting to Vtubers now
Completely unrelated to the thread, but the current goings on RE: Twitch and the lazy as fuck "Let's just watch broadcast TV and Movies on Stream LMAO" actually makes me want to see some major corpo sue the absolute fuck out of some mindless mouthbreater like Hasan, Sodapoppin, xQC or any of the other multi-millionaires who are too fucking lazy to make their own damn content and just put on Masterchef and eat their takeout and barely say a word. These fucking nitwits are poking a giant that will absolutely destroy the ecology of Twitch if they don't get in line fucking yesterday.

Pokimane was banned the other day because Viacom copyright struck her for just outright streaming Avatar the Last Airbender on her stream. Her response?

Bitch acts like she gets a two day vacation, and will have double the viewership from fucking simps upon her stream starting later today/tomorrow.

MEANWHILE everyone else is going to have to deal with the fallout because you know what? Guess what was the first major start of content lockdown on YouTube back in the day? Oh yea, it was fucking VIACOM suing them for a billion dollars.

These fucks are going to destroy their own website with their brazen attitudes. I only hope that Twitch gets their Silicon Valley thumbs out of their asses long enough to just full ban one or more of them to make an example of them and knock some fucking sense into everyone else. Someone's head needs to be on a pike or these idiots won't learn unfortunately.

At least is not a graduation i have seen her in some Apex tournaments and she raped so much people with her team that even the organizer was terrified
Qu is ridiculous at APEX, and her mentor recently reached 50K subs and is now also eligible to participate in the higher tier tournaments with her. Unfortunately, Qu is also a wagie that balances V-Tubing with her work in Thailand, so it makes sense she'll limit activity to suit that if anything has changed.

Piano inferior.
Recorder superior.
Wonder what the other holo girls would think of her. She's like twice the size of Noel.

Still waiting for the yabai clip this stream.
Which one? I'm trying to summarize everything into about 10-12 minutes.

I think it's disgusting how some people can break the rules willingly and get nothing for it. Oh no, 48 hours what will she ever do? This is seriously why I hate Twitch so much. Youtube fucking sucks for streaming also and Mixer is gone.

I hate the streamers you mentioned but I legitimately do hate copyright bullshit as well. Everyone keeps shrieking about how they're poking the bear, but I would argue copyright holders have been doing that for a while now by copyright striking channels for even a few seconds of a clip or song. They were the ones to rape and kill the concept of fair use, and people absolutely should remind them what happened last time they pulled this shit.

For the zoomers out there, the last time entertainment conglomerates were acting this kike-like regarding copyright suits etc, entire networks of piracy sprung up and the copyright Jews are still mitigating the fallout from that today. Grow some balls and tell them to fuck off back to their shekel-adorned lairs.

While I agree with you, this isn't some declaration of war from the perspective of the streamers. They're just trying to find ways to make money with the least amount of effort possible. I also doubt what they're doing could be considered fair use, as they're watching entire shows on stream while adding basically nothing. The scummy part is that these streamers are so rich that it wouldn't matter to them if they were permanently banned or even if the entire platform died, as they're already set for life - thereby pushing the risk from their actions onto smaller creators on the platform while giving them none of the rewards.

I do agree. I hate corporations and wish that fair use/copyright law were changed. But until that law IS changed, they're just giving the companies ammunition in order to destroy the website they're streaming from. And the more brazenly they violate it, the more and more corps will take notice. Which is why I wish one person were made a REAL example of so as to dissuade others to stop, rather than having the site as a whole be DMCA'd.

And really, this. The big streamers are for the most part are already rich. And they are just being lazy and raking in even more money. When all is said and done, they'll have made some stupid easy cash and the rest of the site will be fucked to deal with the fallout of this.

The next chapter of the hololive alternative manga should need a few more months until release if they keep up their production cycle.
Had to think about it since I just discovered this chinese artist who released a second chapter of his holo manga starring Calli, Irys and Ina so far. The english is a little rough but the art is great, it's quite impressive what one person can achieve in a few months. The action scenes hit just like the mazu animation.
Here are chapter 1 and chapter 2, definitly worth a look

Unless they streamers get sued personally, which is entirely possible. There's no reason rights holders need to only go through the DMCA takedown process, they could instead choose to build a case and bring a lawsuit against them directly. Will take months for that to develop if it happens.

Ina's new outfit in 2 hours
And Kiara's half an hour earlier!
I'll do the same thing I did with last relay.
Gonna give my outfit thoughts now.
Kiara: Absolutely amazing outfit. The wing ribbons are so beautiful and the pattern on the kimono is too good. And ofc the twintails! OMG SO CUTE! THANK YOU HUKE PAPA, COVER,AND KIARA!

Ina: WAHnderful outfit. So much goddamn detail, and the inclusion of the mascots is so sweet. Horns were funny and the tako buns are just TOO ADORABLE! Comf scarf too. THANK YOU KUROBOSHI PAPA, COVER, AND INA!

Gura: Ofc I can't take about Gura's outfit without talking about her pre outfit talk. LMAO! This girl is so wild and is always a hoot to watch. Fantastic outfit The sleeves look just great and the patterns man. The dress part doesn't have a lot on it but it's still good. And Ebi chan's inclusion, damn Gura's actually great at drawing. Plus CUTE. THANK YOU AMASHIRO MAMA, COVER, AND GURA!

Ame: AMEZING! The sleeve part is wonderful. The skirt part is simple but amazing. The inclusion of the feesh is funny, Robofeesh. But the best part is those twintails. OMG KAWAII! THANK YOU NABI MAMA, COVER,AND AME!

Calli: Just gorgeous. Legs for dayyys. The smokey sleeves are terrific, the pattern on the dress so fantastic, and the detail on the ribbons is too good. Plus short hair Calli is CUTE af. THANK YOU JUJUBE PAPA, COVER, AND CALLI!

Overall my favorites and Calli and Kiara.

Gigachadchama directly answered a Kson superchat question without batting an eye. Might be the first time we've heard her name on a Hololive stream.

"Do you have any plans to collab with Kson?"
"No plans, but I want to." (予定はないけど、する気はあります)

Cute how she almost says "Kson-senpai" before changing to "san"

I would argue that as long as the streamer is adding consistent relevant commentary/reaction it should qualify as fair use no one is gonna watch the reaction before seeing the media in question themselves or at the very least no able paying customer would settle for a reaction over buying or streaming the content personally

Its asinine to think thats the case and the reason copyright holders are so butthurt about it

But if you sit silent and stare at a media you are streaming then no that is not reaction/commentary or fair use

I say that not knowing what category this poki instance fell into

Good reactors are the likes of Nux, Nagzz, Koe and Cy Yu aka Kaggyfilms to me btw they outright tell the audience "im gonna pause and talk a lot so if you don't like it go watch it yourself this is a reaction im gonna react"

Tried to condense this as much as possible but it still came out at 24 minutes. There is 0 editing in this only just trimming all of the fat. I didn't want to cut some of the longer parts as there is context in it.

Can't blame the dude for numberfagging. Not even full NijiEN collabs (Wave 1-3) got 10k viewers
Forgot to see this. He is pulling in HololiveJP/EN numbers. I believe Vox pulls even more (I think he did 16k at one point). Hope Hololive takes notice and uses this to integrate the stars better.

I hate these type of streamers that just play movies n shit and barely offer any type of commentary. Do I hate how big companies abusing the copyright and skirt around fair use laws? Yes but I think Youtube and Twitch should be the ones fighting that fight. Where a 5 second clip from a song can demonetize your whole stream/video even if its 20-30 minutes long.

What I think there needs to be is some sort of cross-publisher push-button licensing system, where streamers can just fill out a web form and pay a set rate (maybe a couple bucks for a karaoke track, more for the original recording, less for original performance) to get a limited-context license to reproduce a song. The ambiguity is removed on the streamers' side while allowing them to sing what they want, the publishers get a revenue stream, everyone goes home happy.

Know what this remind me of? JP Corpo VTubers asking for permission for playing games

The Berne Convention and Anglosphere law oblige music publishers to offer a "compulsory license" for all the songs they own. It means anyone can cover or karaoke almost any song—as long as they don't re-release a label-owned sound recording for profit. Publishers/labels/etc. are striking songs they have no lawful right to strike, and YouTube/Google goes along with it because it hurts their competition more than it hurts them. A company that can afford to fight wrongful strikes, e.g. Cover/Holo, needs to stand up and say "Fuck off." Judicial precedent exists and is very clear. It just has to be re-enforced against YouTube's collusion with unlawful copyright claims.

Won't happen.
