Yeah, some degrees, at least where I'm at, require a Speech class. I've taken it already, and all we really did is write speeches, but I think the more important part was to help people with public speaking skills.

Eh not particularly in my experience. Then again, it could be the teacher I had, she promoted discourse, critical thinking and personal opinions rather than enforcing a certain way.

Shopping today and I hear the kid in front of me talking about how he was mocked by his peers for having golf as his favorite sport. I'd guess he was a highschool freshman at most. His mother sniffs and complains about the popularity of those "barbaric Midwestern games like football". No shit those exact words.

My sister is a manager at a local pizza place, and was telling me the other day how there was a girl who just quit at her work because people wouldn't acknowledge her "preferred pronouns" (which apparently fluctuated from week to week, though to her credit they weren't neopronouns--she just wanted to swap constantly between he/she/they which isn't too bad, I guess).
But that turned out to not even be the real reason--my sis is friends with her on Facebook, and found out she actually just quit so she could move to another city and live with her equally tumblrtastic girlfriend. Evidently her FB feed is just a bunch of selfies of her and her girlfriend cosplaying together and complaining about the horrors of racism (in spite of being whiter than sour cream) on a semi-daily basis.
Frankly the most surprising thing about this story, to me, was that this girl actually had a job at some point. P:

I saw an SJW at the engineering college's library last week at 4 AM (not an engineer myself, but their library is open 24/7). Someone wrote "You is kind, You is smart, You is important" on a whiteboard behind the desk I was sitting at, and I jokingly amended it with "You is not able to correctly conjugate verbs" because I thought that the quote was intended provide juvenile humor through intentionally poor grammar. A few hours later a girl passing by with her friends stopped to read the whiteboard and said, "Oh, I love that quote."

But then she read my addition and remarked, "That's problematic."

This super beta bespectacled guy at her elbow was kind of confused and asked why, and she explained that the quote was from some book that was written in some kind of lower socioeconomic dialect (I'm guessing that means it was an ebonics quote that I failed to pick up on). My addition was an insult that mocked the lower socioeconomic origins of the quote's author according to the SJW. Underneath my addition, she drew an arrow point up and below it wrote, "You is problematic. Check your privilege", reading aloud her addition with satisfaction.

Unfortunately I was so surprised at encountering a real life SJW, and in a STEM environment too, that I was not able to come up with a witty rejoinder. Outnumbered and surprised, I kept reading my book and acting like I had nothing to do with the whiteboard. I'm honestly quite surprised that there are SJWs in the STEM field, and engineers at that, too. All of the engineers I know are hardcore computer science dudebros and the women engineers are basically just girl versions of the guys.

Er... why do you think they're engineers when you mentioned that you weren't one yourself and just hit up a 24/7 library? I think you're giving them a bit too much credit considering that STEM fields require effort. They probably were bogarting the computers to shitpost or something.

Not exactly a SJW, but probably proto with heavy levels of autism. I'm going to show a little of my power level here, but that's a given considering this thread.

Spoiler: This is long but horrifying/hilarious.

To start it off, she came in from another city. She basically had all the signs of a tumblr SJW present day and I would not be surprised if she currently even has one due to how delusional she was. (She claimed to be otherkin before I even knew what it was and I imagine she has not let go of the concept. The weirdest thing is she claimed to be otherkin with characters I drew.)

When I first met her in Freshman year she approached me and she reeked. It was an overwhelming stench that came from her as she was approaching me. Complimenting my artwork in a backhanded way but saying hers was far better. I took a look at her artwork and saw she was predictably terrible, on levels of Chris Chan where she mostly traced Sonic and Sailor Moon characters with barely coloring in the lines. I didn't particularly care, I just stopped breathing around her and quickly waited for the bell to ring so I could go to class in the morning.

Somehow, though briefly (like three weeks) she exaggerated her skill level to trick the school to put her in the higher classes with me, tried to convince me and everyone else she was a Freshman. Predictably, everyone had a feeling about her the moment she was in those classes that she had no idea of the basic fundamentals so she was eventually pulled out of them. (And she wasn't ever allowed back in them again when the files from the other school finally arrived. It turned out she came from a school in another state that shut down so it took a while to transfer them and was actually a junior.) For some reason, she sought me out and always sat next to me when I felt nothing but absolute but disgust for her. She continuously talked to me about how homophobic and bigoted this school was, how shallow it was, and more. Oh and she kept mistaking me for Asian and I could easily do my own anime.

I kept my mouth shut during these periods. for two days, she somehow was in every class. So I asked her to shower where she got angry and flipped out at me talking about the social expectations of society and how it was a type of bigotry. After that period I asked all of my teachers to move me in the class room because I felt uncomfortable around her. They agreed to it as i was a pretty reliable and quiet kid that they trusted. She regardless for half of the year stalked me though, at any given chance, luckily my friends stood up to her when she didn't get the hint personally from me. (I was clear about it. I did not like her. She was asking me sexually intimate questions, so when I would decline she would go on a tirade each time of how I was culturally brainwashed.) Eventually she got the hint when I punched her in the face after school, said what race I was and to stop calling me Asian. I got in trouble and was suspended for about two days but she never bothered me again.

That being said, her story isn't over here. She eventually got into a lesbian relationship with another girl who had some sort of mental disorder or was autistic (probably both) in school. She would parade around with her, got in trouble with undressing her, eating her out, and fingering her in public several times then claimed the homophobia of the school system doing this. They did wild shit together, including the girl she got in a relationship with parading around she got stabbed by this SJW and she drank their blood like a vampire. And showed the wounds off like something of pride. Predictably, everyone in the school was absolutely repulsed. (It wasn't an issue of homophobia, it was because they were sick fucks. A huge chunk of the school was in the GSA in some shape or form.) There was also another time she came to school wearing bondage and collaring the other girl too, also got in trouble with it. Also she shaved her hair bald, didn't shave anywhere else on her body, and still didn't shower.

There was also the time when I was in Sophomore Year where she had a fight in in the lunch room where she tried to ram and fight against a friend of my sibling in sports, who was in wrestling and other sports in school. It was absolutely hilarious, because she was a fat fuck trying to run into a guy who was in top shape. So she ran at him across the room to knock him out and he used her weight against her.

I have more more stories of her, but these are the ones that come most to mind. I wish this didn't happen way back in the early 2000s because then I could show you video proof of this insanity that happened.

But the worst part is she had a child later after high school from what I checked up on her, though I think the kid was taken away. She used to be a normal 20-something year old woman, but sometime ago got into the WoW fandom on tumblr and then the general tumblr community. This woman came from a Mormon or some type fundamentalist Christian up bringing so she was very sheltered, so she was easily sucked into rebelling once she could. No longer was she some normal heterosexual, cisgender woman, but a queer gender-fluid femboy (her words). She's started wearing the typical queer social justice uniform of black tank tops, cargo, pants, and combat boots with short neon hair. She's of course hates all cishet males even though she's still married to one, says she loves him and wants to be with him. Her husband is miserable since neither of them want a divorce since they were both raised by fundies and divorce is a huge taboo from them.

So he's trapped a gay relationship with someone who constantly bad mouths people like him. She's miserable because they have sex as often as they used to because she's wants children and he isn't attracted to the facial hair she's started growing because of HRT. She may sound really tucute, but she wants to transition hormonally so she can look more androgynous and beard lady-like as a 'fuck you' to cis-normality.

I know all this shit about them and their relationship because for some reason I seem like some sort of advice giving person. I tell them to get a divorce, but they are both thick as pig shit.

Guild's gone to shit since she's been on tumblr. She was competent raid leader and we could do some heroic bosses, but since Warlords of Dreanor came out she hasn't even killed one normal boss from Blackrock Foundry or Hellfire Citadel, because all of sudden raiding gives her anxiety and she was the only person who could get people to show up to raids. People started leaving, including me, and I no longer had a group I enjoyed raiding with.

(I've called her she because she decides she has girl days and boys days and last time we talked she wanted to be called by female pronouns.)

Oh geez, the only story I have actually makes me very proud of my trollish family!

The last time I visited home about 2 years ago, I went on a mini tirade about the uprising of hyper-sensitivity, identity politics, etc. just as it was picking up speed on the interweebs. My Dad immediately started laughing at the mention of "triggers" and I knew I was in for a treat.

Apparently at my Mom's work, a younger woman had just started. My family as a whole have an overwhelming track record of retarded moments to the point where we constantly call ourselves retarded in self-depreciating humor when these loops of awareness happen (Always something stupid like grabbing the wrong tool for a job, just as a point of reference). My Mom had a moment of "Well that was retarded of me" out loud when she made a mistake in the stock room and immediately this girl goes up to her all "You shouldn't be using that word! It's a trigger word!" My Mom and her co-worker (whom IS mentally disabled) basically looked at her like she came from another planet and moved on with their work after the tirade. Later, the term slipped again in a similar context and out of fucking nowhere here comes Ms. Tumblrina again lecturing my Mom about trigger words.

So, being part of a family of trolls, my Mom decided "Okay. Fine. I'll give in to your demands." and started using the phrase "TRIGGER WORD!" any time she meant to say she's being retarded. This moved on to other terms like Nazi (Mom's half German and super commanding) and I don't remember the other apparently triggering word. It didn't even stop with her, but her co-workers were ALL in on this and everyone in the department was soon replacing a chunk of vocabulary with "TRIGGER WORD" for shits and giggles. This went on for a few weeks before the girl complained to my Mom's Boss. But since my Mom was using the "offensive" terms in a self-depreciating manner, not directed at anyone other than herself, and in an area where no customers could hear, she wasn't doing anything wrong. My Mom's blessed with a super laid-back boss, praise the fucking heavens. The most she did out of obligation was tell my Mom to tone down the trolling just a teenie bit so it's not a disruption.

The girl quit after her complaint about the 'triggering' environment went nowhere. My Parents still use "TRIGGER WORD" as a running gag whenever the usual terms of retarded, cunt, nazi, etc. don't just immediately roll off the tongue.

I am going back in a few months. I look forward to whatever fantastic new encounters may have occurred in the last two years.
