1:15:00 into the interview, Ian bemoans the fact that Sam is still giving him fitness advice 7 years later. Sam reinforces that he must get jacked, to which Ian replies "I lift, my girlfriend got me into lifting."

This interview takes place roughly 2 months before the wedding, and Ian's natural subconscious descriptor for his betrothed is still "my girlfriend." :story:

I'll explain the joke to you since you're fuckin autistic. He's loading a mag and saying "Im fed up..." as a joke that he's going to do a mass shooting. Sam riffs with him, then he says "I'm sorry I have to leave all my good friends" meaning he's going to die. He doesn't mean this literally, you can see him in the next and final scene shooting with everyone else.

1) I was talking about Sam's intentions here. I'm confused myself whether it was meant to genuinely gaslight iDubbbz or be an obvious joke to entertain his audience.
2) I agree, that's basic mathematics right there. But alpha/beta isn't just physical in nature & I expected iDubbbz to be more sure of himself. He pretty much just crumpled in front of Sam. I think the reason I find it so captivating is the whole psychological sparring aspect which Sam controls to the point where he ruined iDubbbz' video :lit:

It seems like Sam and the crew were waiting for Ian to openly call them out on acting up for the cameras and he was too beta to do it.
The nearest he got to it was the interview but even then he retreats from it a few moments later.

Honestly pretty disappointing. At least Sam was able to put something out but it's just astounding the lack of chemistry between the two subjects. You don't even need to be "alpha" to simply say "I know this is all a gag, can we please see the real xyz", you just need to be comfortable in the situation a.k.a. your skin. Easier said than done though. Hopefully Ian at least puts out some footage on his 2nd channel but I think he's going to totally ignore the fact that this was even going to be a thing

The second Ian wanted to come over and make a documentary on Sam, Sam and his wack pack put their heads together for the sole purpose of fucking with Ian. To the point they spent a lot of money just for a few insane jokes. Including hiring some chick to be a crackwhore, destroying the office to create a terrible cave thing, throwing lego everywhere, and really making it seem like Sam Hyde was running a weird cult compound where they made shitty beats and sparred.
That’s grade A trolling.

The whole thing is like... some fever dream you would plan out with your boys in HS knowing it would never come true hahaha. I just wish some of the crew dialed it back a bit to make it more believable. "Grade A" trolling would be if Ian released the doc & framed it as something serious. Even still it's top tier in terms of what people have pulled off historically
