Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

So some real talk for all you turbo autismos. I need to mildly powerlevel for you all because this shit is serious and I need a collective internet brain to fight it.

I have a 5 year old daughter. She's gone through this shit pretty well. She hates masks and I don't make her wear them. This shit started when she was 3 and I was not going to hide human faces from her. The issue facing me now is the recent mandate down to 5 year Olds. I have 50/50 custody and the custody agreement bars "non emergency" medical treatment absent bilateral agreement.

Unfortunately the other half of thr 50/50 split is a Branch Covidian. Who has told me because of Omicron my daughter (age 5) HAS to get the jab. I won't call it a vaccination because I know already it's not a vaccination.

This is the kicker. My daughter has already had Delta COVID. She coughed and sniffled for a few days, threw up in school, got diagnosed and went into State mandated quarantine. I should add I was the one who supervised the quarantine incidentally. She was perfectly fine

But now I am being ganged up on with the pediatrician who also wants to give the jab. I have a meeting tomorrow where I either have to hold my ground or surrender.

My abiding concerns are thus.

My daughter has natural immunity already. Okay says I, but the pediatrician says adding the jab makes the immunity even better!

But the jab is not sequenced to Omicron, and when I asked what it was sequenced for I was told it was Sars-COV-2-Wuhan, not the Omicron variant.

My second concern is that natural immunity reacts very badly to the Pfizer Jab specifically. I am not sure why, but I believe it's because the memory T and B immune cells freak out and think a virus pulled a fast one on them and trigger a cytokene storm.

My third concern is that if my daughter gets the jab, she won't develop natural immunity to this shit show while she is young and healthy.

My fourth concern is philosophical in that I don't believe 5 year Olds need to be put on the front line for the benefit of society. Which is essentially what the pediatrician said. We don't want kids being a reservoir for the virus.

And my fifth concern is the Pfizer jab is pointless. Like all Cold viruses before it, the Kung Flu has evolved faster then we can keep up.

Am I off base here? I have to go to the mat tomorrow. :heart-empty:
I'm super late here but I can confirm firsthand it is MISERABLE to get Pfizer after having natural immunity, at least in my case. I won't go into it cause I've already told the story a couple times, but I got vaccinated for my parents after already having COVID and had to be talked out of going to the emergency room I was in so much pain.

As with most things medical it's almost definitely not guaranteed, but just something to look out for.

Totally not a cult
It’s always is one with these people
I think that was just a way of selling it to the public and NPCs. Although many Orange Man Bad people including Kamala Harris came out against vaccines when Trump promoted them, they didn't shout it out nearly as loud and often as Trump's promotion of Ivermectin and HCQ and of course rapidly changed their stance once Trump was gone. They probably will again once the media turns on vaccines where Trump will be blamed for every vaccine death/injury.

Basically I think Trump was advised by someone in the government that Ivermectin and HCQ work, Trump promoted it, other parts of the government (the parts brought to you by Pfizer) screamed SHUT IT DOWN and down it went. A successful drug would mean no emergency-use authorization of the vaxx (meaning pretty much no rollout) and they'd have wasted a fuckton of money developing a product that would get shelved. Since mRNA research has been a huge component of the push for vaxxing, that was totally unacceptable.

Ever notice how these people are always arrested while "trying to drive" to a place and kill someone/people and never actually arrested AT the place?

Where is Fauci's house anyway? What a shame an escaped mental patient can find his house but the cyberstalking Nazis of Kiwifarms can't.
well it’s has to be close Washington DC since it’s either Maryland,DC, or somewhere in northern Virginia. These people are just insane since one the people I posted the tweet of andrew wortman lives in rhode island and is one of those people who thinks black people cant be racist and went to explain and state flat out that black supremacists aren’t real even thought they are real.

I got more of the tweets of Simps for the doctors 5D7A0017-CF29-4794-A1AC-A8BD6E76327F.jpeg5A68710F-A4CF-4003-8578-0BF6B8435927.jpegD43F9BE7-0044-487B-A248-9939AA65D4FC.jpeg0776CFB4-7BCA-48E4-AA13-33DB8EC00CA2.jpeg7DFED8D7-F5FF-4411-95DD-DE2484507AB4.jpegC1FE9AB4-7960-4502-A267-5E58652839C2.jpeg

This is all because of vidya, and I'm not kidding.

I think covid has "gamified" life in a way many millennials are having a problem getting away from. Video games have a simple value proposition: if you fulfill all the quests, you'll always get the quest rewards and win the game.

The only time a game doesn't work like that is if there's some kind of glitch. If you kill Bowser and the game blanks out for you and you never get to see yourself rescuing the princess, fuck, that's a buggy game. And you wasted all that time on it! People who once could have seen life as a series of risk-taking events that sometimes pay off (and sometimes don't) instead have been taught to see the world a different way. Not just as a game:

A buggy game.

Their parents told them the way to play to win: go to college. Get decent grades. Show up basically on time for work. Collect your quest rewards: house, picket fence, dog, 2.3 children, promotions, retirement.

For a lot of them, even though they pressed all the right buttons, the game still refuses to grant them a win! And now, just as they've become fully enraged at the glitchiness of the "game," covid hits.

At first, covid was also a game with clear win conditions you could learn by paying enough attention to in-game lore: Stay indoors. Wash your groceries. Stay 6 feet from the next person in the grocery line, and you won't get it. Now here was a game for the millennials who'd gotten so frustrated and angry trying to win the "life" one. The covid game had clear rules and metrics...remember those early (totally unsourced and BS) charts with one person or both people wearing masks and engaging in distancing, and how each one lowered your probability of contracting the vid?

And if you got through all the initial quests, you'd get the ultimate power-up: the vaccine. So they sat inside like good boys and girls for a year, dutifully playing all the mini-games (no mask! mask! double mask! n95! PCR test requirements! Rapid antigen tests!) to pass the time until the vaccines became available and gave them the power armor they needed to get through the next levels.

In the spring of 2021, when they went to the newly-opened potion shop in the game village, the NPC there told them: "The vaccines work even better than we expected, they almost break the game, they are basically invincibility potions, you become 100% invulnerable to the worst impacts of the virus and no longer need to worry you're spreading it to others." When adults 20-45 got their shots, it had the feeling of when people open a new video game stage. Now you've got the weapon/armor/level to make it possible to see areas of the map you hadn't seen before. Go to festivals again, it's ok! Take your sweetheart to a restaurant, the monsters can't touch you!

In video games, friendly NPCs selling potions don't lie to you.

So when the vaccines turned out to wear off really quickly and have far fewer benefits than expected, initially, the millennials were fine going along with it. It's like getting that invincibility star in Mario, of course it wears off fast, if you want its benefits to continue, you'll have to find another. Stick that booster in my arm!

And then, just like that, the game went all buggy. People who "did everything right" and had fulfilled all quest conditions got covid anyway. The vaccines didn't work against the new variant and especially didn't work to stop spread. Suddenly parties full of people who showed up with invincibility potions were all losing the game of "don't get covid whatever you do." But the friendly potion shop guy couldn't have been lying. It must be the work of the villains who just went through the game map with no armor living by their wits and trying to access higher levels of the game without taking any proper precautions.

They've started to realize that the rules they've been playing the game by aren't working, but their video game training leads them to believe the rules cannot be mistaken. The game has glitched. All it needs is a hard restart (perhaps another nice, long lockdown to refamiliarize yourself with all the mini-games? Or maybe a new game rule that you can't enter most areas of the game without the newly-available potions? Or some new armor in the form of better masks/respirators?). You might lose some unsaved progress, but it's the only way to get back to playing a game that makes sense.

This is why they can't change their minds to accept new information, or realize they've been lied to. It's why they keep pushing to double down on the strategies they've already learned, the ones they have "muscle memory" for. That first lockdown, life seemed simple and urgent and predictable. Surely if we do it again, and do it a bit smarter or at least differently this time, we won't get the same glitch. The people who drink a new potion every time the old one wears off will be invincible again and the idiots who come to kill bosses before they get the power armor will get killed like we knew they would. Order will be restored. We'll be able to watch the closing credits.
This is terrifyingly accurate, @Diana Moon Glampers

But also, I think there was an element of "Luigi wins by doing nothing" involved.

Think about it: you didn't even have to leave your house to be involved in activism any more! In fact, you COULDN'T leave your house to do anything. All you had to do to be a great non-Republican person that betters humanity is NOTHING. Do NOTHING and you win.

So they got an overflated sense of accomplishment because they could literally accomplish something in their lives by sitting on their computer or laying in bed and binging Netflix. Anyone that wanted to actually accomplish something was deemed the evil of humanity and wanted to kill grandma.

Also, image tax because now clown world is creating its own memes.

Paul and Fauchi either need to kiss or go out behind the capital and fight.
Somehow, Joe Rogan needs to be involved commentating the fight and passing out free Ivermectin and elk meat.

Oh course we got MSNBC coming out defending the monster
Ok, Don Lewis, tell us why you think Fraudci isn't a pandemic profiteer?

Bonus points if it's mud wrestling.
:story:

As for Fraudci memes, I can't wait for the flood of memes. :-)
you know he wont

Yeah, Don Lewis will chicken out like a wimp.

During those two weeks after you received your second dose, you're just still counted in the "received 1 dose" category, not in the unvaccinated category.
Except one dose in many places is not considered "vaccinated" or "up to date" or whatever they are calling it now. Calling someone unvaccinated in 2022 could mean they have had two-three shots and refused to get a booster.

Meanwhile in the UK, Boris Johnson might be on a ejectable seat thanks to the Partygate for doing a party who breaked the lockdown rules.
Boris Johnson is a “serial liar” and should be ousted from office after the latest revelation about a bring-your-own-booze drinks party at Downing Street a former Conservative attorney general has said.

Dominic Grieve accused the Prime Minister of a pattern of behaviour that is undermining trust, including by lying about potential rule-breaking gatherings at Number 10 during the first coronavirus lockdown.

An email from Mr Johnson’s principal private secretary invited more than 100 Downing Street staff to an evening gathering on May 20 2020 when rules meant the public could only meet one other person outside.

Multiple reports – including from his former adviser Dominic Cummings – have suggested Mr Johnson attended the event with his wife Carrie.

Mr Grieve, a barrister who served as David Cameron’s attorney general from 2010 to 2014, said that Tory MPs who are “very unhappy” with the current Prime Minister’s behaviour should move to replace him.

Asked about the latest allegation of the Prime Minister and Downing Street staff flouting Covid-19 rules, Mr Grieve said: “He ought to be in a lot of trouble because he’s told a series of untruths about these issues over a period of time and the latest evidence clearly suggests that the rules were broken.

“There may be mitigating circumstances for that, I don’t know. But it’s part of a pattern of behaviour by him which undermines trust. And because trust is undermined, it then becomes very difficult to accept anything he says on any topic whatsoever.”

Mr Grieve said he thinks the public now has “very little” trust in Mr Johnson and added: “The difficulty we have here is that we have a Prime Minister who’s effectively a serial liar.”

Yeah, it'll be a miracle if the next guy isn't worse... Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...

Meanwhile, with the "Fauci showing Fire Fauci" photo now turned into a meme. Behold! https://imgflip.com/i/60vynt
