US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Am I the only one who actually sees the dark side of all this?

The dark side being that the three liberal justices are absolutely insane. Meaning that some bad timing on Thomas dying for example could very easily mean we get some real judicial fuckery for decades.
One SCOTUS judge dying would set us back to where we were pre-Trump, with Roberts being the 'tiebreaker' once again. Though I am not terribly worried about this. Thomas is in good health, in fact excellent health for a man his age.

The future California Democrats want? This thread by John Schrieber is a very eye-opening look into an emerging category of crime, one among many, that is developing in California: train robberies. No, it's not like the Wild West days where thieves stuck up a passenger train and robbed everyone onboard. Modern train robbers in California take goods and packages off of cargo trains, rummage through them and take anything they can find, whether it's toilet paper, Epi-Pens or your Amazon order. Don't look at this and tell me this doesn't seem like it was filmed in South Africa.

That was just an example.

You think the Dems are going to moderate themselves away from Sotomayor-tier madness in 10 years?

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's politics.

Alaska is sitting on an absolute fuck ton of resources. If serious extraction ever begins it would require a ton of, mostly Republican, people to move there. The combined income and population spike would rapidly spike it into being one of the most powerful red states in the country... and a -lot- of those people would come -from- California as it shares a coast for easy moving and has a very large dissatisfied Republican constituent. And in the long term, Alaska lacks anything which would make it ideal for a major city to appear meaning it's unlikely to ever end up as another New York or Illinois, dominated by one city.

See the problem then? California loses power and Alaska gains a ton. Alaska getting that boom would spell the doom of Democrats ever gaining the House again and make the Presidency an absolute hell to get.

So, it ping pongs. Any time a Republican is in the White House they try to start the boom. Any time a Democrat is in the White House they quash the boom.
Imagine a bunch of Californians - people who have heart attacks if the temp dips below 60 - moving to Alaska to mine.
To reinforce this (just in case anyone doubts Alaska could turn out like that) there's already a prime example of such development: Alberta. Before the Canadian oil sands became a thing the province was largely rural and agriculture dominant. Starting in the 70s once oil mining tech was proven the province had a veritable makeover, becoming heavily oil & gas focused and seeing major growth throughout the north. Fort McMurray for example went from a middle of nowhere muskeg village to a city of ~70k, all of whom vote Conservative.

It was this "even" development which gives Alberta the distinction of having a relatively balanced urban-rural divide, something that has consistently kept left-wing parties out of power. Any exploitation of Alaska's resources would see the same sort of growth, and given the jobs would be resource-based - i.e. hard work, long shifts, no room for bullshit - it would do nothing but hurt Democrat prospects. No surprise the Dems won't let it happen on their watch.

That was just an example.

Absolutely not. The Overton Window has moved permanently and the idea that the GOP are super-mega Hitler has been drilled into them since the Bush administration. Arguably since the Nixon administration.

I hope Thomas has the wisdom to retire if Trump wins in 2024, is all I am saying.
I generally agree, but would not be terribly worried if he does not. What I'd prefer is for Breyer to retire. While he decided for that horseshit he's the least tainted of the three and by far the oldest. Him going down during a Republican presidency would nudge out one of the three core liberal justices and make it nearly impossible for the liberal judges to gain significant power for a long- time.

Though both occurring would be the most ideal.

What's wrong with the title? It's correct.

He's 83 years old.
A full decade older than Thomas.

On a related note to the article, the word coming out of Biden's Georgia speech is interesting. It has the whole Republican parties hackles up and even a few Democrats, though trying to pivot off it, have admitted it went too far. @WonderWino 's post mentions it, but I have been hearing news on it since it happened. Even the RINOs here found it appalling and one of our federal senators called in to add some work to our queue.

Seems Biden's handlers accidentally kicked a hornets nest, and has pretty much made certain there will be absolutely no RINO support.

He does have a point they are both batshit insane on the same spectrum but differ on how they show their insanity. Let me elaborate with bill and Keith’s whole world view comes from twitter and to an extent agents of influence either from the unhinged zealots of the site or the DNC in some of their cases it’s basically eating their own shit. The only difference Keith has two platforms to show his unhingedness mainly twitter and YouTube and he gets roasted on both ends and probably doesn’t block people and only takes about trump when there is not a missing dog involved which is most of his account and consider the guy is what in his 50s or 60s. Bill Palmer is much more hot headed than Keith and more or probably equally insane in my person opinion on him. Bill doesn’t like dissenting opinions and just blocks people and is failed indipendent journalist who lives in a red state and acts like a internet tough guy threading to sue anyone who dare calls him out on his conspiracy theories. He only surrounds himself with worshipers who would do his bidding like say Harrass people and say things that no normal person would say or agree with. I would agree that both are authoritarian to the bone and only let the mask slip only a couple times or 24/7 in other cases revealing their true thoughts. The only thing that their good at is being shot journalists who constantly fail upwards and I use the term journalist loosely since they are nothing more than tools for the establishment and suck Biden’s cock and spread misinformation both political and medical. The only other difference is that Keith didn’t delete tweets where as bill did with the whole russia gate narrative collapsed and is grifting off of the riot.

Yeah Robert Harrington doesn’t know jack and shit wouldn’t surprise me if he was supporter of CCP Winnie the pooh
There is not a single comma in this Great Wall of Text.

Take a breath. Paragraphs are your friends.

Biden's handlers turned the rhetoric up a little too much, is the problem. He called his opponents "domestic enemies" and tried to equate them with George Wallace, Jefferson Davis and Bull Connor. He just straight up lied and said it's illegal to hand out water to voters in Georgia. He also lied about a time he was supposedly arrested.

The rhetoric was meant to appeal to the hardcore activists of the Democratic Party, and how did they respond? They boycotted his speech. They accused him of being all talk and no walk. I hope he keeps doing speeches, honestly.

God I hope the same. Every time he's trot out it damages him more, and it seems to be accelerating the damage.

You mean the georgia speech were he begged the MSM to play censor or something else?

What was teh hornets nest they kicked?
Went considerably too over-the-top with his rhetoric, on a big public stage. Which resulted in a hardening of resistance on the RINO lines. Before there were some ways that the RINOs could be brought on board with some limited action with the voting rights bills. Especially for Manchin's 'compromise' bill which could have potentially let it pass alongside some filibuster 'reform' down to 55 votes.

There -was- a path there. Not an easy one, but a path.

The speech nuked that.

"Basically, if voter suppression and helping spread the latest COVID variant are on your to-do list, now is your time to shine."

I hate this tone so much. I shouldn't let it get to me but what exactly is it? Need to identify and diagnose so I can be prepared and treat accordingly.
It's called passive aggressive faggotry and is best imagined coming from some bearded soyboy who writes clickbait for a living.
