Related to the topic at hand, the way MTFs are treated in gay male spaces online is probably completely different from how they would be treated IRL.

On occasion, I will see someone white knighting for troons by criticizing that gay men call vaginas gross because it hurts troon feelings and "not all gay men have penises." Of course, since this is on the internet, there is no way to know if the person saying this is actually a gay man. They probably are not. It is ironic troons want gay men to stop bonding over disliking vaginas, since that is kind of one of the few things all gay men have in common.

Another thing I have seen, primarily on Reddit, is an NSFW picture or video of a FTM in a subreddit that dedicated to gay men. These posts often get a decent amount of upvotes. Think of it like when a troon posts a shitty nail job on a nail art subreddit; they get showered in praise. I see three reasons for someone upvoting it: 1. societal pressure to conform to wokeness and pretend that the woman is a man; 2. the people upvoting are not gay at all, but are bisexual men or straight women; or 3. the person upvoting is a troon. It is an incredibly jarring experience to be a gay man scrolling through one of these subreddits and suddenly being confronted with pictures of someone with a hairy chest, beard, and labia, or worse, a testosterone-engorged clitoris. Replies to these posts are always clean of negativity in the usual Reddit fashion. Any reply that isn't removed will include the word bro, dude, or man.

Anyway, my point is that whoever is reacting positively to these pictures is not a gay man. When these FTMs eventually go out to places with gay men IRL, they will probably expect to get a similar treatment. They will be in for a rude awakening since gay men are mostly upfront about what they are interested in and are not willing to compromise on it. Troons can call men shallow all they want, but gay men are almost always upfront and uncompromising about it.

Woke societal pressure may make some gay men feel obligated to at least make these women feel welcome in gay male spaces, but they would never consider dating one of these women themself.

There are three classes of people from whom you can generally expect no-holds-barred, savagely brutal honesty:

-Toddlers and young children
-Teen girls, albeit with a heavy dash of bitchiness
-"Out" Gay men, occasionally with a heavy dash of bitchiness

When I was her age no one I knew even had health insurance, some of us also had mental health issues that we just let slide because we couldn't afford to treat them. We spent years hoping and praying nothing bad happened to us because we couldn't afford it and/or Wed have a pre-existing condition from then on. None of my friends really knew what that even was,.but our parents told us it was a bad thing.

Every one of my friends who lived at home after high school helped pay bills. Some of us completely paid for our tuition with no help from home. all of us at least paid for car insurance, if not for our own cars.

I'm glad things are easier for the kids today. I'm glad obamacare says kids can stay on their parents insurance. I have no beef with living with your parents to save money, when you're just starting out that's smart. Roommates suck.

But dude, you gotta help pay the bills. You're an adult. You've been an adult for three years. Pull up your panties and do the hard things, because ain't no one else gonna do them for you.

Ah, I wouldn't be 21 again for all the money in the world. So stupid and I didn't even know it. Still just as stupid, it's just now I know it!

Simple. She's underemployed and can't afford to. The OP said she's doing door dash bc ~mah depression~. I can't imagine door dash paying very well hourly and I doubt the tips are good enough to make up for a lack of steady hours.

In this job market she should have no trouble finding a better paying job with more hours, hell even fast food is paying more these days. The nearby chik fil-a has a sign up saying starting at $14 and up. No idea how many hours they give and fast food is hard, shitty work, but $14 for an entry level train on the job type work is pretty good. Plus at CFA you get every Sunday off, which is nothing to sneeze at with fast food.

one of the things which many people notice about troons is how narcissistic and self centered they are, couple this with how autistic a lot of them are and you start to get an answer to your question.

I always found this to be absurd. There has been a decent number of examples where heterosexual women will declare themselves as lesbians as soon as their bf/husband troons out. They always skip over bisexuality and go straight to lesbian. Of course, most of them are neither.

Even if a FTM manages to pass in photos, their mannerisms nearly always give them away irl or on video. I don’t even know what it specifically is about them, but it’s sort of an uncanny valley effect to me. Just something screams “FEMALE” even with the scraggly beard hair. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a gayden date an actual gay man, not a bi guy or another FTM.

Something about TIFs' eyes gives them away in photos. Believe it or not, I'm actually better at clocking TIFs than TIMs. Might have something to do with me being male and better able to detect men impostors. Who knows, lol. And I'm convinced it's their eyes even when everything else has me seemingly fooled. Narrow shoulders are another huge giveaway. Head, hand, wrist, arm, and neck size give TIFs away as well. Height, obviously. Not to mention the BIRTHING hips. TIFs really don't "pass" any better once you've seen enough of them and know what to look for.

I honestly don't get the FTM who use dating apps pretending to be a straight man. It's 50+ photos picked from a random algorithmic men in a certain age range vs this girl pretending to be a man. The ONLY reason I ever second guess myself is because I'm on a dating app and just saw 50 photos of real men so my mind is not expecting an anomaly which it clearly identifies as an anomaly. Now I'm going back to look at all tell tale signs because I know it must be a woman.


With enough filters and makeup, you can make a man vaguely look identifiable as a "woman" but almost always a Kim K type woman - never the average everyday woman.

You cannot make a female look like a man. You just cannot - unless they're old and fat and wrinkly. The woman who won Dragula as a drag king, despite her illnesses, does in fact look pretty haggard with strong laugh lines which HELPS build the appearance in drag. It's still definitely always a woman though.

Buck Angel has "semi-passed" in that when I was younger and naive, I felt they looked like "a man". They have decent facial hair, kept their head shaved and had those strong jowls / laugh lines. To me, they're kind of ugly in a masculine way.

I also use the words "they/them" for people like Buck Angel and Jazz Jennings because truly at a certain point you have done so much irreversible permanent damage you will never live as a man or a woman in society again. They are the third sex, they are the others, Buck cannot ever be a woman again. They destroyed their body. It's like trying to make Michael Jackson look like the Thriller era in 2005. But they absolutely have never been a man and will not die as a man.

As a hetero woman I like both rugged men and the glam rockers - but they're two seperate types of people.

If you're speaking on 80s glam metal specifically - those guys are super not gay, surprisingly. Their entire brand was sex, drugs and rock n' roll to its most exaggerated, sleaziest form. And it is a brand - Nikki Sixx brought it into a more mainstream idea on the Sunset Strip in very early Motley Crue days and other bands followed because Motley Crue got all the drugs and the women. No one ever attempted to put together an outfit on the basis of looking like a woman - they just ... did. It was a byproduct of the costuming, hence why Steven Tyler wrote Dude Looks Like A Lady about Vince Neil. And literally a year later they changed their entire brand to bikers and released Girls Girls Girls.

This also happened again during the scene/emo days where guys started growing their hair out, straightening it, wearing eyeliner, "girl jeans" however some of those guys... kind of gay, possibly future troons.

What 80s glam metal guy trooned out? I kind of want to know just for curiosities sake if any of them ever went further than just regular gay dudes (which is not a regular occurrence besides the most obvious answer - who definitely always looked the absolute most homosexual of the 80s metal IMO.)
