"Hey Mike Baron 'oh I'm highly educated. I read books'. Yeah well you bleed the same blood I bleed Mike Baron. Don't get it twisted. Living off your fame from making a comic book back in the 40's like Steamboat Mickey."

I suspect Mike Baron may have offended this gentleman.

The latest video confirms my suspicions that he was really going after Malin, not Baron, in the previous video.

He actually went after Baron as a compliment to him, basically calling him out as the alpha dog of that gang, giving him the 'think you're better'n me?' to tease him. 'You bleed the same blood as I do Mike Baron!'

Then, when he played 'Man on the Moon' at the end of that previous video, that was a reference to Malin efapping him with Anna and Kelsey, where Malin tried to dismiss him as a wannabe Andy Kaufman act - which prompted Anna to respond in her inimitable manner, "Who's Andy Kaufman?"

Malin then had to explain to Anna who Andy Kaufman was by referencing the Jim Carrey movie of that name, which was an Andy Kaufman biopic with that song as its title and theme tune. (Anna hasn't seen it)

So this latest video confirms it - he's putting his arm around Malin, and saying 'respect', and promoting him as a fellow flat-earther, as a way of humiliating and embarrassing Malin. He's basically turning around Malin's Andy Kaufman remarks on him, and saying that Malin himself is an Andy Kaufman act without even trying or being self-aware of it.

@Pilule Noir what do I know, this stuff is probably way over my head, but it's starting to look like Doomcock seeing Kennedys initials everywhere.

You can't rake in the simp money by cosplaying as Ace Ventura cosplaying as Latka.

Regarding the Malt Liquor Video (MLV) continuing drama, this is a kind of pugilistic, hard boiled, working class autism that I just don't see the "comic book nerds" of CG being able to fully understand, much less hang with for much longer. While fumbling for McNuggets with his big sausage fingers, Trent Steele specifically spoonfed them the lore on Fat Reggie (the guy who gets a big "fuck you" in pretty much every one of Steele's videos). What did we learn his crime was? Fat Reggie stated he was going to review barbecue sauces but subsequently did not in fact review barbecue sauces. He then became "perilously sober" (masterful turn of phrase). This then led to doxing and apparently CSI investigations into his history and methods. The initial heinousness of failing to follow through on condiments ensconced Fat Reggie into Malt Liquor community lore as an arch nemesis and villain of the peace. "He was shunned.... [burp]..., put on the gulag, ya know, that scene from... [pause] ...Mad Max and the Thunderdome. Fat Reggie was put on the donkey and sent out to pasture". What exactly did Ethan, Jon, and Cecil think they were going to accomplish by trading punches with this guy from a place of disrespect if those are the lengths he goes to in seeking retribution against someone who failed to follow-through on reviewing bbq sauce? And dragging aged Mike Baron into this, too? Perilous, indeed.

The futility of such a fight is why Jon Malin effectively chose to sue for peace on stream by having his wife buy him a couple of 40oz bottles of malt liquor to pull up, crack open, keep in frame, and enjoy in a timely manner (at some point in the future, allegedly). This stream with Jon's lowest possible effort genuflection to malt liquor culture was then responded to positively by STEELEWORLDWIDE's Trent Steele.

"I'm over here just waiting for a football injury to happen and then I see this..."
The man's extemporaneous speaking abilities are pure poetry. So much could have been avoided by the "comic book nerd squad" lurking and then coming correct with respect from Jump Street instead of the comedy of errors that led us here, but if seeing mutually-beneficial cultural exchange like this doesn't warm the cockles of your heart, you should check yourself for a pulse. The world needs more of this, now more than ever. But it pays-off for Jon Malin about as good as it possibly can, at least in this instance, and demonstrates that while he may be half-baked and marble-mouthed when cutting a rastlin' promo on stream, if given a rap across the snout with a rolled-up newspaper, Jon can get his shit together enough to know his role. Kinda.

"A fellow-flat earther. Respect, dawg. Respect"
Not from everyone, clearly. But it's good to see Jon and Trent finding common ground upon which to associate/fraternize/affiliate/prison sex/whatever is happening here.

Now that the nerd ranks have broken and Jon is showing respect and down by law, what will become of Ethan and Cecil? Much like Ethan had his, umm, illness and was thus MIA for a day through JACK Show, I believe Cecil is booze free for the entire month of January, no? Unlike Frog's umm, illness, this could prove devastating for Cecil as it means not only will the appropriate respect-offerings not be made in a timely manner but if STEELEWORLDWIDE and the greater YouTube Malt Liquor community hear of his cash grab known as CashGrab, things could prove highly perilous for Cecil (see Fat Reggie lore dump above). Theirs definitely seems like an honor-based culture (of a sort...)

Worth noting after the "we can all get along" directed towards formerly-adversarial Jon was a "I hope you die" towards currently-adversarial, aging, and stroke-suffering P. Glen(?), or maybe I misread that bit. Either way, If it's up to me and if I'm a gay "YouTube personality," I'm looking at this as a fun sideshow but not the kind of social mores or health habits I want taking hold within my peer group or audience. Jon is diabetic ffs and according to Anna TSWG on this week's FlashCast (now Member's Only), her immediate family history leaves her particularly susceptible to certain cancers. Might those ridiculous bolt-on's have been a preventative double-mastectomy gone full retard? Only she and the doctors she's quite outspoken about never seeing know for sure, but that's beside the point. The point is, supplementing a diet of pixie sticks and dirt with McRibs and malt liquor would probably not be a good idea. As beta degenerates, falling in with an alpha degenerate to get him to like you is profoundly unwise so let's hope this CG/ML dalliance is short-lived and the group's most vulnerable nerds remain at a safe distance. Cecil should step-up to take responsibility for all this so the brain damaged diabetic, old man, and soon-to-be Make-A-Wish Barbie will stop taking flak and be out of harms way. But, that's me heckling from the balcony like Statler and Waldorf. What do I know?

As for Ethan, he's apparently decided to take Trent Steele head-on.

On Saturday's stream, instead of pulling/cracking/enjoying as is custom when in Rome, Frog instead opted to promote a rival champion within the ML community, Mad Moler. Regardless of this challenger's merits, one would assume such a failure to personally show due respect (like Jon did) should go over like a lead balloon, but perhaps that's just not Ethan's way. Maybe this is him putting himself above it and attempting to have his pie and eat it, too: addressing the malt liquor video (MLV) issue while countering Steele and staying alpha. Perhaps this gambit will pay off. However, in Ethan's excitement to promote Mad Moler "Sub JoeSkull 40-ounce MLV" or whatever, he made a bit of a Johnny Lawrence -tier blunder and overlooked the fact that all the small clips of what are assumed to be him "skiing and being athletic, kicking ass" playing during his video are in fact clips of individuals violently crashing into things and utterly failing at winter sports. Maybe this sort of thing is a 'W' within the MLV community in a sort of Jackass way, but I don't know and if it's me I'm not leading with that until I do. I'm also not bobbing my head to discount Jimmy Eat World or whatever the Jack-Murphy-buttplugging fuck that is playing in the background, but Ethan's discernment re: music is a whole other topic all it's own. The point is, Ethan is trying just a tad too hard here.

Dumb question: How does he avoid getting DMCA'd for the music? Or is the entire channel not monetized in the first place?

Thing is, if @FROG had his pie and ate it too, then he would eat the one he had. This is some of his cowness

Promoting Alcohol in your video would probably get you demonetized. And these guys are casually drinking a lot of alcohol.

This isn't particularly CG related but it's a slow week. Is anyone else surprised by how hard people are rallying against The Book of Boba Fett? I'm one of the most Disney-critical Star Wars fans you'll ever meet, but from where I'm sitting this show seems roughly the same quality as The Mandalorian, which I also enjoyed. The costumes and makeup are still great, the writing is still average, the music is still shit. I do agree BoBF's pacing is really weird, with each episode so far being half-flashback, but in my eyes Star Wars' pacing was fucked the moment JJ Abrams decided to include a flashback in TFA. It just seems like the criticism is oddly disproportional this time. I mean we just got an episode in which Fett has a fist fight with a Wookie gladiator, we get several minutes of screen time with a rancor and it's implied Fett will be riding it later on, and all anyone is talking about is that the swoop gang's speeders were too colorful (something Lucas himself probably would have loved for it's 50's aesthetic).
Anyway this certainly isn't my hill to die on, just an oddity I've noticed. I'd be curious to know how the thread feels about it.

Wow, that was a shockingly weak-spirited attempt at returning fire from Frog there. It seems he's dug himself into a bit of a self-owning hole here - after spending all the other week talking up how awesome Moltie was, now he's coming off as a big bitch by scrambling around trying to make little digs at him, and clutching at any straw he can to try and desperately reassert his lost manhood.

It's perhaps a fitting lesson for him, that the only funny bit of his return volley was his own blundering ineptitude in delusionally referring to the violently failing wintersportsmen as 'kicking ass' - a haunting visual echo of his own clumsy and failed attempts to land a zing on Moltie.

Its mildly amusing to me that all Jon had to do was have Faye walk in and hand him a 40oz she picked up for him to display on stream and extricate himself from this mess. Meanwhile, Ethan continues digging. Nothing would make me happier than for Mad Moler to deliver EVS another rebuke for not even attempting to make the smallest effort to follow the very simple rules of this community.
