You don’t personally need to make enough to support yourself if you are married you need to show your spouse can take care of you. The paying taxes is all on the spouse if you are a dependent and they need to provide the papers proving they’ve been paying those for you.

It’s not unusual she could have pr but with how she is acting I’m coming around to not having it. And I also didn’t consider that she might have been getting funds from her YouTube videos and whatever that go over the limit where she’d have to start doing the taxes on her own including insurance and that’s a no no if she hasn’t been reporting them.
Edit: oh I should say I’m not sure if the visa after divorce stuff has changed with covid where maybe you can get an extension. But being able to stay for the lasting duration of your visa after divorce hasn’t been a thing for a while.

I don't really think there is anything catty about being realistic about someone's employment perspectives.

You must know very little about how the real world works if you think that Venus is super duper employable just because she's young and female. Believe it or not, but young women are not a rare occurrence in Switzerland and most of them have prior work experience, went to school and groom themselves regularly. Venus has never worked ever. I can't think of a single reason why you would want to hire her over anybody else who has at least flipped burgers or waited tables. She has literally no useful real-world experience.

Well there you go. She gets bumped down to a tourist visa. Meaning she'd have to pull a Margo and head over to Seoul for a weekend, spend a weekend there and come back in a tourist visa again. I do think it's somewhat unrealistic to think that Venus could work at a bank or any other job, where personal grooming, punctuality and social skills were important. She could, in theory, get her shit together and create a decent life for herself. In theory, any lolcow could get help to improve their circumstances and live a reasonably decent existence.

The reason she's a cow is because she won't or can't do those things. I think people are just tired of trying to stay optimistic about Venus's future. Almost everyone here would rather see her succeed than fail, but eventually watching her hit her head against a brick wall over and over again becomes frustrating and annoying. We can only blame so much on Margo, at some point we have to accept she's making mistakes independent of any damage Margo did, that can't be excused away.

When Venus first escaped and Margo showed her true colors, people here were happy that she finally got away (minus the lady neckbeards from PULL). It was obvious for years that she was being severely abused by Margo and was a victim in a lot of the drama her mother involved her in.

But she went from being under her mother's strict control (she even said Margo would make her sleep in the same bed as to watch her/ make sure she was a virgin) and had every detail of her life managed to the point even her salads were weighed. She left the situation fucked up and needed help right away. But she went to a country that is known for its horrendous mental health care.

On her own, she has...

- spiraled enough to pick up an alchohol addiction

- found a South Korean surgeon to butcher her organs as a way to reduce her stomach content (that nearly killed her)

-constantly changes her mind about her sexual preferences. She said she was ace, gay, hypersexual (calling herself a pervert), to now trying to be a porn star

- ruins any friendships. A few of the other j-bloggers like Mikan have cut ties with her but are nice enough not to stir up drama since it is obvious that Venus is severely mentally ill and is a danger to herself already

- ruined any chance of having a career. For a time she was doing videos with small businesses (like local ramen shops) and was even in a stage play in Japan. But her behavior got herself cut off from those opportunities.

Venus has potential and was a victim, but she is continuing the same toxic cycle she learned from her mother and refuses to take responsibility for her actions. She's still young and could turn her life around if she decided to make the dramatic change. But she won't.
Now Manaki, her biggest enabler, is apparently cutting her off.

Mental health awareness is just as bad over there as it is in Japan and on top of it, SK is very appearance heavy. If you ever go to the cities there like Seoul or Gangnam, there are plastic surgery and weight loss ads everywhere.

I have a great deal of real world experience which is why I find it so strange anyone thinks getting a receptionist job or answering phones at a bank or office is any big fucking deal - it’s literally the lowest rung on the chain and has very little responsibility. If you suck or come in late regularly they just fire you and get another. It is entry level and akin to “flipping burgers” in the white collar world. There are plenty of educated young women in Switzerland and they want a better position than receptionist - which is my entire point.

She speaks several languages fluently, that’s good enough to get hired at many places. Just having (or faking) a British accent/RP English was about all it took to get a receptionist job at plenty of international firms just a decade ago.

People seem to think they know a great deal about Venus and her life when all we get are strange glimpses thanks to her fucked up streams. No one even has any idea if she has PR in Japan or not. Facts are scant.

She probably will continue a downward spiral in Japan. I think by herself she will continue to make bad decisions that will lead to an early demise, but it’s just the most likely path not the only one. I don’t think people give Venus enough credit. The fact at 18 she managed to escape from Margo showed she does have grit and survival instincts somewhere deep inside her. Unfortunately her self-destructive side and mental issues seem to be far stronger than any survival instincts.
