Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Some SEALs are alright, maybe the non-Cowboys like Jocko, but just a reminder that the SEALs took credit for what this man did and later tried to paper over what happened so he wouldn't get the MoH to save face. Crenshaw's cut from the same Blue Falcon mold, just the buddy is fucking is the country.

What a brave man. An example to men everywhere.

The faggot actually tries to say he can't go visit the 1/6 prisoners because he would just draw attention to himself, a not so subtle dig at MTG and Gaetz. He's getting more brazen in being a vile power hungry prick.
He's former SOCOM. He's a SEAL.

Which means he subsisted off a diet of CIA cum for years till he glows.

LOL. he is in much the same position as McConnell is in my state. no one has a high opinion of him and every challenger from both the GOP and DNC has been a fucking retard each time. Last dem to oppose was cali tier left and was recorded saying that trumps election was worse than 9/11. that woman plastered wall to wall ads on every channel and still got BTFO'd. I never once saw a McConnell ad or sign.
Actually, it's the opposite. Manchin is pretty well loved in West Virginia, with recent polls giving him about 60% support (note how the comments in that article are mostly "lol west virginia is so retarded, that's why they like him" in typical smug lefty fashion). Those words are from a man who knows he's untouchable, not because he keeps getting opposed by ineffectual morons, but because he's at least somewhat concerned with representing his state's needs and enjoys high approval because of that. Like, I'm not gonna paint him as a saint or anything, but he knows which way the wind's blowing, and he's not about to do anything stupid to jeopardize his political future in the state.

Manchin is throwing down the gauntlet at Schumer's feet and daring him to try and launch a primary against him. He knows exactly how it'll go since he won his last primary with 70% of the vote. He also isn't even up for reelection until 2024, so any threats are meaningless for at least another year, if not two. He has nothing to fear and everything to gain by continuing to hold the line against ol' Chucky Wucky. Since he only won his last election by about 20k votes, the state's increasingly turning red, so he'll need all the ammo he can get to convince WV to reelect him in a couple years. Luckily for him, Schumer's giving him everything he needs.

Manchin isn't voting for either one, it's all academic. He's said multiple times he isn't going to vote yes on muh voting legislation unless it's a bipartisan bill (ie, at least 10 Republican senators sign on, never happening), and he isn't going to vote yes on Build Back Better unless it is Joe Manchin's Build Back Better. Neither one is happening so he's not going to be voting yes to either

This is all so Schumer can shore up his left flank and keep himself from getting primaried by Donkey Chompers Titscasio

Manchin said today that he does not support a "talking filibuster" workaround. Not happening.

Speaking of primarying, Schumer is now being asked if he wants Manchin and Sinema primaried.
>Q: "If this is a critical moment for democracy and a moral moment, would you support efforts to primary Sens. Manchin and Sinema?"

>Schumer's answer: "I'm not getting into the politics. This is a substantive serious issue"

At this point, he is on easy mode. The Elections bill would ensure that Democrats enjoy power indefinitely. The biggest draw to it then for individual democrats is not having to worry about elections.

The thing is, Manchin gets a better version of it by nuking the bill. He can tote out his killing of BBB and refusal to bend on the Filibuster and Voting Rights bill and just -cruise- to victory for the next thirty years. Manchin will likely be -dead- before the goodwill this creates finally stops paying dividends. He can take it and get whatever position he wants in West Virginia politics. And the Democrats have only themselves to blame.

I mentioned before what Manchin's intended plan likely was. To set up some 'compromise' bills on the requirement they get bipartisan support. Of course doomed to fail but providing the Democrats an easy out and scapegoat come the midterms in the form of the Republicans. Simple, easy, something we have seen a thousand times.

Instead, they went tooth and nail after him. Making him an icon of 'principled' resistance. Then they tried to pressure him in the most open and sleazy manners possible. Just solidifying that view. All he has to do is vote no on anything that passes before him and he wins for as long as he wants to.

Bernie said today he'd support a primary challenger to Joe

Joe said bring it on in response

Then he slapped Bernie in the face with his dick

Both Manchin and Sinema are politicians. Trust either's word at your own peril.

Nigger, Joe Manchin won his last election in 2018 by 20,000 votes

Trump won West Virginia by 40% in 2020

Joe goes back on his word he will lose in 2024

Joe sticks to his word he gets reelected in 2024

If he isn't a Senator he is just some moderately rich guy from West Virginia, he's a nobody if he isn't a Senator

He will do everything in his power to remain a Senator, he likes being important

Who the fuck said anything about trusting them? Your statement is an utter non sequitur to both of our posts.

I'm saying there is still time for them to cuck. That bill ain't dead till it's in the coffin.

Manchin won't cuck on this. And no, trust has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's basic political calculus that both myself and Draggs are bringing up.

He wins by just sitting there and saying no. There is literally no downsides to him and tons of upsides. In fact, the exact same upsides he'd get by voting for it, but without any of the baggage, and even higher-ups. He just -wins-.

But what about losing his most important constituency; thousands of wailing twitter progs impotently gnashing their teeth at him?

As far as I can tell, Manchin does not give two fucks about twitter. It's run by his staffers, with barely any engagement, and he has never referenced it on the floor or among his peers. Makes him a rare one among the Democrats.

We don't need to trust their word. Just their self-interest. Manchin loses everything by voting for those bills. On the other hand, if he holds the line, West Virginia will elect him to any office he wants.

Exactly. The Uniparty members, the group most likely to 'cuck',, don't just do it randomly out of nowhere. They do it when they are offered something greater than they lose from supporting a bill. The deal gets sweetened enough to make it worth their while.

There is -nothing- they could possibly offer to Manchin here to make it worth it.
