Kim's mother has custody of Aiden. That gross, dirty trailer is hers. She's horrible, but she's better than sending him to live with JJ and Kristie (Who are currently squatting in a hoarded out trailer with no power. JJ is literally panhandling for a living.) Aiden is fucked unless he somehow ends up is a foster home. Which is fairly likely, given that Kim's mother is shockingly old.

Edit: Edited to explain who "they" is. Women who live "rough" in those rural areas do not age well. They lose their teeth young, the hair gets thin or falls out and like Kim, they have unchecked medical issues, they smoke like chimneys and live in squalor. Kim's mom is about my age I'm sure but looks older because of how they live.

I'm really surprised COVID placenta didn't get more media attention.
