I love that dude who pointed out that the Mongol horde killed more people than the Great Leap Forward as if that's a gotcha. Yes, Genghis Khan was also an evil piece of shit, in fact for a lot of cultures he's the archetypal evil piece of shit. The fact that something in the mid-20th century even compares to his brutality is pretty damn awful.

He'd probably have as many subs as Sargon if his delivery was slightly more energetic, and learned enough about tech to realise that you can talk and have an image up at the same time. It is cathartic to see him expose the hotep-tier garbage that is spreading through the woke media though, most others don't really talk about the pseudohistory side of it unless it's in relation to some shitty modern film remake.

Went down a weird rabbithole due to my youtube recs this morning. Going to post it here since the channel is another generic content farm and I think this thread would be interested in the glowy shit behind it. It isn't lolcow related either, but it is part of a trend with all these soulless corporate channels.
I got recommended this Kite & Key Media channel. It wants to be something like Wendover Productions with a very slick, produced style filled with stock footage, but can upload pretty fast. Anyone will instantly notice the wired discrepancy in views between videos. Videos under 5 minutes can't scrape past a thousand views. Videos over 5 minutes are astronomically higher in comparison. Knowing youtube, I thought this was just the algorithm like usual. I think it checks for watch length now so maybe shorter videos get punished. What really made me suspicious was the fact they have subscribers hidden. Even the most hysterical channels rarely hide their subscriber counts.
I checked their videos because this screamed view botting to me. The first video had about 300 views, 24 likes, and only 2 comments from users displayed. For modern Youtube that's about normal for that level of engagement. About 300 people watched , but only 24 or so interacted with the video. The channel was started on Nov 13, 2020 so its high for a newer channel. The next video raises eyebrows though. It has 11,090 views with... 64 likes and 2 comments from users. That is abysmally bad. Slightly more than the last video, but it should not be that low. It is almost impossibly bad on YouTube. I don't think I've ever seen a video with such an inflated view count. Now, to be fair, some other videos on their channel do have organic views, but this trend is pretty common throughout their uploads.

An account made less than two years ago with a bluecheck and over 10k? Their twitter following is insanely fake too. I doubt anymore than a thousand or so of their followers are real or active. Their pinned tweet is the biggest exception to their usual engagement level. Their other tweets this month struggle to get more than 20 retweets and 20 likes with a few exceptions. This is journalist on Twitter levels of bad. Even accounts with under a thousand followers can usually get a constant dozen likes on their posts.
Luckily, we have a name attached to Kite & Key here. Vanessa Mendoza. Who is she? Lets check.
Basically nobody, but she confounded Kite and Key and was a think tank executive. She's also not very active on twitter and only has 190 followers. The other co-founder is a random author nobody would know about. His only book was a biography on Grover Cleveland. Where did Kite & Key get that 10k following and bluecheck then? Nobody famous is attached to the channel and you have to put in effort to get to their twitter account. Anyone passively consuming these videos would not make the four clicks to go follow them on twitter.

I'm not even sure what TIK's whole point is. The title is "Actually Leftists aren't STUPID people" then gives an explanation for leftist world view which is that work is slavery and all the leaders are racists, so participating in society is exploitative and only furthers to enrich racists.
Is that really supposed to be the defense for why leftists aren't stupid? I 'm pretty sure a lot of leftists will disagree with that characterization as it portrays them as petulant and paranoid.
He makes a point that it's not ignorance but misinformation which gives them this view of the world, but I'm going to argue that it takes a fair bit of ignorance and close mindedness to continue believing that all of society is a slavery racket run by racists.
Here's a better defense, and my personal take, leftism is born not from stupidity, but from naivety, lack of experience, and wishful thinking. The lack of experience is what makes them seem stupid, the ones who refuse to acknowledge the realities of existence are the ones who make them seem even more stupid. Saying men are women and that you can't be racist towards certain races is what makes them seem really stupid.
You've got leftists arguing that communism will work when we start violating the laws of physics and start creating free shit out of the ether. And yet still argue we'll need a communist government to kill the "nazis" until we get to magical space gobbunism.
More rational leftists will concede that having a economy isn't fundamentally exploitative, and that you can't just shoot people until magic is invented, but always seem to have some naivety that can easily be exploited by unscrupulous entities. So they'll agree with the right wingers on everything until the question comes up to something like the social issue of giving non citizens a driving license so that you won't have illegals running from accidents because they don't have a license. The right winger will as the likely hobbesian he is argue that it will only be exploited by those who will use the license as a tool to try and get more state documents giving him a false identity as a citizen rather than a foreigner. The leftist will ignore such issues, either out of naivety or because they acknowledge the issue exist, but ignore it because their actual goal is to subversively aid the non citizens into slipping into society without requiring legislative change.

This is one of those TiK videos where he basically just argues with himself over semantics for an hour, kinda like a redux version of that video about Hitler's socialism.
That's the problem. He's very anti-socialist, so his attempt at playing devil's advocate comes across more like a strawman, which kinda makes the whole video pointless (at least for its stated purpose of proving that socialists aren't stupid). It just feels like an underhanded way of owning socialists, especially the commenters who keep biting at his ankles.
