In abusive households, children often do what they can to survive. In the case here, the obvious was to support their little brother, even if it meant having to watch him get groomed and lose his dick. To them, everything was normalized, even the constant verbal sexual abuse that runs rampant across the family.

I don't think Jeanette helps one bit, but I also think a lot more is going on than mommy issues. We honestly don't know what blocking puberty does to the brain. Perhaps our sex hormones do more for brain maturity than we realize. While I have a lot of sympathy for intersex people, for instance, they do seem less emotionally mature in comparison to the average normie. There is so much about hormones, human development, and the brain that we simply do not yet know, which is what makes these biochemical brain experiments even more horrifying. As pedantic and as autistic as she can be about it, Exulansic does have a point about the unknown changes and likely damages these hormone blockers are causing the brain.

Completely agree, and this plays on my mind a lot re: how culpable Jazz is for (sort of) any of his behaviour, in the same way that children can only be so accountable for what they do and say, because they’re kids, and you know that they’re not all there yet.

Like, everyone knows/remembers how grim puberty is. You’re basically mentally ill, your body is flooded with hormones that fuck with your moods incessantly, with your appetite, your sleep, your skin, etc, and there’s so much going on in your brain. You’re shifting between identities, phases of thinking and behaviour, trying out one thing and another, obsessed and repulsed by this and that by turns, elated and despairing, confused and arrogantly sure of yourself, butting up against authority and pushing the limits of what you can and can’t do and learning some difficult but lasting lessons (hopefully) about actions and consequences. You, with some discomfort, start to come to terms with adult ideas and make peace with adult concepts.

There is something very strange going on inside you. You fundamentally change from a child into Something Else. It’s a wild time! My point is that puberty has deep and lasting effects on the psyche that we barely even recognise or appreciate, let alone understand, and the thought of keeping someone pre-pubescent their whole life thoroughly creeps me out in ways I can’t even quite explain.

I don't see them as malicious co-conspirators. This is Jeanette's stage play and the rest of them are playing the roles she cast them in. They'll do it, because they know there's hell to pay if they don't. They are probably also all glad that they're not getting victimized the most. This dynamic has played out with other mothers to varying degrees of criminal abuse. Probably the most extreme case of it - a mother being mentally and physically abusive and forcing her children to also abuse the prime targets of the abuse - is Theresa Knorr.

The culpability of the other Bloshisnky kids is a mess to untangle because they've all been brainwashed and treated as puppets by Jeanette. I think they may have a hard time being certain what treatment of Jazz is objectively right and wrong.

When Jazz was begging for some positive support from him, Sander completely shut Jazz down for not doing it the way Sander wanted. Idk, there was a nasty edge to Sander putting the old noodles in Jazz's hair, lying he hadn't, and thus setting Jazz up to look foolish while he was also berating him about food and Jazz was trying to defend himself. On camera! That was bullying and disrespectful to his distressed brother.
