Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Isn't there a study or something that shows that on average a nation lasts around 200 to 400 years before massively shrinking in size and power or outright collapsing and ceasing to exist?
its more of a changing the parameters to fit the graph sort of situation there. like you can't really say the post-civil war, one party US was the one the founding fathers intended a century earlier, nor could you say that republicans in the 1920s could see 2020s US and see it as the same nation.

Empires, definitely, don't know about nations per se.

I will say that I've been following the Fall of Civilizations podcast recently, and some of the parallels are...eerie.
like i said changing definitions, who's to say when Rome fell and if dictatorship renewed its lifecycle, the Roman capital was sacked 800 years after its founding but its empire somehow only lasted 250 years?

Same with our friends in the UK, or Ottoman Empire. We're supposed to believe the UK "empire" started with the Fall of Cromwell?

Same with Spain, its empire started in 1500, and ended in the 1590s with it losing to England/Netherlands, but somehow "actually....." spain lasted to 1750, despite that being 30 years after a massive war about which european country would get to rape Spain?

You could see similar "the end is near" academic bullshit with the same shifting definitions in the 1970s for the US and 1890s for Europe.

I'll do you one better. Biden is ET. He will change American politics. But not for good reasons.
I guess that makes Hunter Biden, Dave. "I love you whores"

Amazing series mentioned multiple times on the YouTube historians thread -- I'm a little sad the guy is running out of civilizations to discuss and has put his efforts into a giant documentary about the history of vaccines (whatever gets him views and keeps YouTube happy and monetizes him I guess). I'm curious what civs you see the most parallels to ours. I'm leaning towards to Khmer Empire, due to our crumbling infrastructure mostly...

Ok so I know theres a biased response here on the Farms, but realistically, I missed the conference.

Was it really THAT bad? Like any worse than he's been up til now?
Yes and yes.
You should watch it. Seriously, do watch it, I can guarantee that you have never seen anything like this before.
It can not be described in words how bad it was. It was twilight zone surreal bad.

Since we're sperging about video games

I've felt the uneasy feeling I had approaching the ending to Hotline Miami 2 for roughly a year now. I kind of wish they'd just launch the nukes and get it over with.
again other academic bullshit, nuclear war was going to destroy the planet just like insane asylums were. and the amount of nukes and power thereof keeps getting less and less and the people willing to use them when ordered is so small that even if there was a nuclear exchange, unless you literally live in a weapons factory you have nothing to worry about. Beyond that the only real factories worth caring about are in taiwan and china, so u-know. if they really wanted to destroy things, either side would take out the 3GD and the taiwan chip factory and get it over with.

The way you put that legit makes me wonder if this isn't some big occult ritual by the elites. Are they also drawing a giant transmutation circle around america?
That would actually be more interesting instead of a cabal of incompetent boomers who are soon facing death with the knowledge that their entire legacy will very likely be undone by actual literal communists.

Fact check: Palmer’s diaper needs changing.
Ten guesses he has depends on and has a fetish
That first tweet is almost like he's trying to Perlmanpost (lil Donnie).
it’s an attempt at best. And the rest is just of him mindless droning on no mean tweets IRL

No one in particular, but I see some parallels in the modern world with many of the things discussed - over-expansion as seen with the Romans and Byzantines, an inept leadership propped up by courtiers focused on personal power rather than the good of the nation/civilization as whole as with the Han dynasty, an overly interconnected and highly fragile international system like that right before the Bronze Age Collapse, etc.

Biden had to stop and refresh. His mind had to turn the internet off and on again. I swore I heard the dial up noise when he was talking about school cancelations.

He was acting like a 2160p video on a craptop; the pain is present, but jet plane noises and smoke are metaphoric.

So does this mean they've just decided that public opinion is completely meaningless or what? There is no way this is intended to look good to the viewers right?
The California recall sent a message to Democrats that Newsom could act like a giant douchebag and the primary Democrat voter base will put up with it because they believe that the GOP are just waiting to kill every goddamn nigger, spic and chink in this great land of ours.

The DNC has proved itself to be literally incapable of governing.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but they really did campaign on "at least we're not Trump" and relied on the people filling in the blanks to whatever their own ideal magical hypothetical alternative would be.

In reality, they don't even know how to make the US even appear to still be a functioning state.
