The Elder Scrolls

Merific Racial superiority is the only truth, Culture and Engineering are largely products of the Merific races. The Altmer tend to have the highest quality of life in every era, with a spike in suffering during the first decade or so of the Septim occupation. That being said, Orcs and Khajiit are mer, but they are basically second hand niggers in setting with only the Argonians being more unbearable as a population.

Unpopular opinion here, but I don't think the Altmer should be so alien given that every culture in Tamriel descends from Aldmeri culture. I think that spot is more or less occupied by the Dunmer and all their batshit customs, as they surely did their best to abandon all their old altmer ways.
Besides, Pocket Guide to the Empire might as well be imperial propaganda, and Summerset in Arena looked fairly generic. That said tho...
Altmer master race
That's one thing I hate about ES lore, how it's never revealed just how much Aldmeri stuff the various merish cultures keep, no matter the deviation. I guess it's one of those more "fill in the gaps yourself" kind of things as is a lot of the lore. Project Tamriel showed off a doc today with a section explaining why the Dunmer gather their dead's ashes in one place by saying they're trying to imitate the oneness of the dead the Aldmer achieved by uploading their souls to Crystal-Like-Law or something. It's not too alien and isn't canon but it at least shows how the Aldmer impacted future Tamrielic cultures without MK anuielactorate prism textract chrysalid bullshit.

Still wondering how English came from Altmeris-Ayleidoon though. That one's a doozy.

Almost all historical cultures are to some degree. The Romans, Celts, Hellens, and Germanics did some pretty weird shit. I would like to see a version of Alinor that sees magic being used as a common resource. I have always liked the idea of the Mer being kind of alien to human sensibilities but I think that they will have to make the Alinor more simplistic due to gameplay and development limitations as well as Bethesda appealing to the wider market.

I think that something like some of the areas from the dreaming city in Destiny 2 (bad business practices, good art) where nature and advanced architecture is blended and mixed with a crystalline theme would fit the Altmer, and you could add some nice lighting and colorful reflections, have a different color palate and chalk the Pocket guide as an over-exaggeration.

Speaking of this and PT, the main artist for their Summerset conceptualization came up with some Alinorian buildings.

I'm still iffy on the upper class 'scrapers, but I kinda like the lower class huts. He's got a Pinterest with a ton of shit on it for SSI. (https://www.pinterest.com/c0dacan0n/_saved/)
Sounds like I'm shilling for PT but I just can't pass up some talk about the Altmer.

Argonians in game are the worst race, barely different from the lizards in Warhammer (except those are actually cool). Indigenous people that worship trees/are one with the trees? Fuck off Bethesda.
Their fandom is also the worst, mostly furry coomers who deny being furry coomers and are proven to fap to slavery RP in TES MP and ESO. They also only know about the Oblivion counterinvasion and Morrowind invasion. Always forgetting to mention that the Dunmer kicked their scaly asses while simultaneously trying to save themselves.
Redguards are alright though, joggers in looks only.

I always wondered why Argonians had such a weird skill spread in Skyrim. +10 Lockpicking? Thanks, guys, that'll make a huge difference to my playthrough.

It's a shame because I like Skyrim Argonians aesthetically (:_(

Akatosh dabbed on the Mer and granted his Covenant only to the Imperial emperors, and then had the last Septim/his aspect sacrifice himself to save Tamriel, while the gay Thalmor want to destroy it so they can be spirits again. Men win again.

Anyways, finally got Skyrim working, and now I don't even want to play it just because of the effort required to not have it shit itself. I kind of want to do another Oblivion playthrough now.

As HeyYou already stated the Altmer have been cucked by Akatosh himself in giving a holy Covenant to Saint Alessia. However it needs to be pointed out that he cucked them yet again in making Talos (tiber septim) into a dragonborn and then his whole lineage up to presumably the last having the dragonblood. Speaking of Talos, he straight up nuked them with and then proceeded to ascend to divinity (as confirmed in oblivion). What can high elves do other than cope seethe and dilate?

Well, assuming Tiber Septim was the dragonborn and not Wulfharth. I didn't mention dragonborns because they always seemed like a thing that Akatosh doesn't really actively create (outside of Alessia supposedly gaining the blood of a dragon when forming the Covenant with Akatosh), they're just kind of born randomly or when the world needs them. Still, it's kind of hard to ignore that the only dragonborn we actually know about are Men, and at least two, maybe all three, founders of Cyrodiilic empires, who were all unrelated to each other, were dragonborns.

The Covenant with Alessia and Martin turning into an aspect of Akatosh to defeat Dagon, on the other hand, is pretty objective (we see the power of the Amulet of Kings and Martin turning into an aspect of Akatosh in-game) and pretty hard to explain away as anything other than Akatosh granting Men his patronage.

That may or may not be the case, the heresy isn't explicitly canon, though don't forget when we meet "wulf" in oblivion, that's talos himself and him being a divine is now canon. In regards to the dragon blood we can say that at the least those who sat on the ruby throne with the amulet had dragon blood/dragon soul in order to keep the fires lit, by necessity that means the dragonblood/soul is heritable and the lineage of septim having it is indisputable. So too did Reman Cyrodiil and I am personally inclined to think that the last dragon born does as well (remember the part at skyhaven where you need your blood to open a lock)

Excuse me for this question, but if I updated Skyrim SE to the latest version without buying AE, do I use the AE version of SKSE mods or the SE version?

Edit: For example, SKSE says to use the AE version even if you didnt buy AE if you're version of Skyrim SE is up to date. Meanwhile, other mods say only use the AE version if you bought AE.

You use the AE version, I'm pretty sure.

Skyrim is now the Anniversary Edition even if you don't buy the content. IIRC SKSE doesn't even load right if the version isn't correct but maybe i'm wrong.

Just to be safe, I'd just use the old version until something doesn't work first.

Have an oblivion question. Ever since becoming a vampire my hood doesn't fit my head anymore and it clips out. Does anyone know a good mod that would correct that?

I also choose House Telvanni tbh. Although I've never actually finished Morrowind.
I always chose them and was always annoyed at needing to fly to access their quest givers. In retrospect that was a much more minor annoyance than the constant oblivion gates or dragons that constantly annoyed you to worry about the main quest in future games.

I only wish Indoril was present on Vvardenfell, Ules and Omani are the kind of plantation slavery economy they would have, but also would be committed to jihad against the liggers and outlanders.
