So, there was this writer I liked back in the early 90s, Luc Sante. He wrote a book called Low Life: Lures and Snares of Old New York that was a cool history of the nasty old days on the Bowery a century or more ago. I was always interested since when I saw his byline- pretty good cultural writer, I loathe NYC hipsters but I didn't then, plus he was much older. Acceptable old hipster.

Now he's trooned out at 67 years of age in a splashy Vanity Fair article, it's Lucy Sante now and I'm struck by the speed in which his past has been semi-erased. It's very like "Eliot Page is a man. Elliot Page has always been a man." that wiped that Wikipedia entry and other sites super-quick. We have always been at war with Eastasia. Even his books have been reprinted as by "Lucy Sante".

And another striking thing, he writes that he was basically hypnotized by Faceapp images of himself as a woman to do this. It's the single primary driver of what led him to disrupt his life this way. He ran every single photo of himself he had to feminize himself on the Faceapp thing, the image of himself as a woman clearly took over his whole brain to the point of obsession. He writes of feeling tranny long before in his life, but Faceapp really seemed to shove him off the ledge. Was the internet a good idea really?

Of course he wasn't. And it really is a disgrace that not only was he bullied and defamed in real life, now they're co-opting him in death. This guy is one of the major reasons the nazis bit the dust. He deserves more honor than this.

The idea of being like everybody else and just sharing in a nearly universal human experience would mean that they aren't really better, more special or deserving of more attention than anybody else. And that sort of thinking is anathema to narcissists like them.

It's to reinforce the "I've always been" part of trans arguments. Conflation of "Awakening" and Transition is a cheap trick used. It sets it as another case for TRAs to use in support of transing kids. At first glance, it's just lunacy, but the deeper effects and intents are much more devious.

this article is a goldmine. one of his therapists died of a heart attack twenty minutes after Sante admitted he wore his mother's dresses in childhood. he had bad trips on LSD because he was afraid of being transgender. his mother was mentally ill and abusive. he became obsessed with putting his photos through a gender changing filter.

sounds like a real woman, totally not a mental illness, everything is fine!

This is incredibly common on tranny Reddit, the amount of unhappy middle aged men fapping to crudely photoshopped pictures of themselves as women is unreal. The internet was a big mistake and Uncle Ted did nothing wrong.

It's because most fetishes develop in mentally unwell children just before or at the onset of puberty. An already mentally ill kid pops a boner while he's looking at someone's feet, or while watching someone smoke a cigarette, or while playing with plushie toys, or while he's pretending to be a girl, and then they are forever turned on by the non-sexual action or item.
