Just read the tranny jannie's explanation for locking the thread. It makes no sense. He acknowledged its original intended purpose and could have just left it at that, as it did make some sense to close it based on that. But he also recognized that it's the largest thread on the site, while at the same time alleging it had "slowed down". The seethe was palpable.

(*edit: It has been revealed that what the jannie meant by "slowed down" was that the size of the thread made using mod tools to merge posts etc. very difficult. It would have been nice of him to explain that in more detail. Surely would have avoided the subsequent shitstorm. Live and learn, I suppose.)

I like the midterm threads. I'm not sure there needs to be two, and I'm leaning toward Humanhive's. This one for general use, and midterm for specific state-by-state analysis. Seems reasonable to me. But then, I'm just a plebian user and not a dilating jannie.

My inner autist is desperate to point out that it really should just be the US Politics megathread, as only half of the time (usually during major crises lmao) does it actually relate to Joe Biden, but locking the most consistently active thread in the subforum for being inactive/having its vagueries of topic result in spillage outside of the thread is turbofaggotry.

I checked up on the thread in the morning, at lunch I heard it was banned and had to go through 4 pages of discussion to get to the ban post. It 100% wasn't banned for being too slow.
