I'm surprised Google didn't nuke the API for dislike extensions yet.
I was so confused when I saw it lockdown and got even more confused when reading the explanation behide itClosing the main Biden thread made no sense at all.
That's fine to shut down the thread if it's too big, That's what happened in the DSP board's megathread when it hit 10K pages. But they allowed us to immediately start a second megathread. The fact that you lock what was more or less a containment thread that regularly updated about 3-5 new pages by every 5 hours or so (That's my estimate from what I've seen) is a retarded idea. It just means either it will spread out to the rest of A&N, or everyone will just regroup in a different thread.
Government entities using Zoom will forever make me MATI.It's a slow news day but I'll try to contribute to getting the thread on topic. A bunch of Republican and Democratic senators are now talking about changing the Electoral Count Act. 7 Rs (2 more were invited but didn't attend) and 7 Ds respectively.
Claiming the literally most active thread on the subforum was slow tipped his hand, tbhI was so confused when I saw it lockdown and got even more confused when reading the explanation behide it
It only gets slow on the weekends. So I don't see that being a reason to lock itClaiming the literally most active thread on the subforum was slow tipped his hand, tbh
I don't. It's a notorious problem with Xenforo. The mod tools just start shitting themselves when a thread gets too big. However, I have trouble imagining there was an appreciable load time difference.
They don't try to load every post in a thread in one giant page do they? That would be extremely stupid.I don't. It's a notorious problem with Xenforo. The mod tools just start shitting themselves when a thread gets too big.
Uh, guys.
They didn't mean "slow" as in "inactive."
They meant "slow" as in "loaded more slowly from the forum database."
Now, technically that is true, as a thread gets more posts in it the database takes a bit longer to retrieve the posts for a given page due to sorting and so on. However, I have trouble imagining there was an appreciable load time difference.
