In the most recent episode, Jazz's stupid brother and his stupid friends were sitting around a table outdoors to have a beer. There were a few things that stood out to me.
1: His dumb brother and his mouthbreathing friend didn't know how to use a bottle opener.
For clarity, they were using this kind of opener. Rather than using the opening in the center like how even a trained chimpanzee can comprehend, they tried opening the bottle
with the side of the bottle opener. They give up after a few attempts, and since them opening the bottle wasn't on camera, I can only assume the production crew did it for them.
2: When their buddies showed up, their conversation was fairly fun and normal. Cracking jokes, laughing, people playing off of each other. Then Jazz's brother opens his mouth and immediately starts talking about dating MtFs when the conversation wasn't even tangentially related to it. The mood
instantly sours. Everyone goes quiet, their smiles fade, and they do nothing more than silently nod. He goes on to dominate the entire conversation whining about his personal life.
3: Jazz's dumb brother had his dumb FtM friend there, and she clearly was not melding well with the overwhelmingly male atmosphere. The entire time, she looked awkward and clearly felt out of place. She only speaks up when Jazz's brother starts crying about his dating history.
4: One of the friends there talks about how they wouldn't want to marry an MtF because they'd want children. The FtM friend brings up the stupid "what about the 1-in-1,000,000 women who are infertile, are they not women" argument. I was laughing too hard to hear, but I believe the friend gave the proper response, which is "no, they're still women, but I wouldn't marry them because of that."
5: The FtM friend gets heated and asks if it's a trans person's responsibility to tell their partner they're trans. She was told "yes." She then uses the
awful analogy, "if I have a criminal record, is it my responsibility to tell the people I'm in a long term relationship with?" Their question was so insanely dumb, everyone went completely silent trying to comprehend how awful a comparison that was.
The rest of the episode was overwhelmingly meh. Jazz shaving his legs and needing his mother's help was funny, especially when Jazz said he hadn't done so in over two years. Then Jazz's gay friend saying that Jazz should bring his mother to Harvard was baffling, on top of Jazz asserting that Harvard was a difficult school in terms of the actual difficulty of the classes, rather than just being a difficult school
to get into. Since there was no scene of Jazz falling on his face like in the skiing episode, I give this one a 6/10.
