Its -15 Celsius in Ottawa right now with an extreme cold weather warning putting it closer to -20. If anything else, I cannot remember a time in history where Canadians gathered to protest in the dead of winter outside over several nights. The homeless who choose to be homeless head inside during these temperatures. Very few are that stubborn.

Eventually fuel will run out and they legally cannot camp or sleep there. In my opinion, I think enough will retreat for warmth/fuel/rest and the government can certainly pay as much as it needs for the trucks needed to haul these guys out. It could also be a PR tactic to allow this public opinion to build so when they do move in, less are likely to join or be upset about it.

Another interesting thought: it is the federal government that provides financial support for loss work due to lockdowns. And they just had to quickly alter the legislation around it because no province would choose to go back into full lockdown - instead they placed "restrictions" which left people unemployed but not in lockdown.

How can the Liberals hand out millions upon millions of dollars for work lost in the past two months only to immediately end vaccination mandates or masking? It negates their prior belief, which was already in question by everyone else. It would probably be political suicide. He can't remove the money alreqdy earmarked for these beliefs because the bill has already passed. Maybe he can remove the "forced" requirement (he wont) but he can just add that you'll have to disclose your status as if you have HIV and will be criminally liable for known or purposeful exposure without telling others. Given how he sides with Quebecs extreme views on vaccination, I can see this happening so it gives others the "freedom" not to hire the unvaccinated, even for a temporary contract. The country has watched countless people be fired for not being vaccinated and many cheered it on. Maybe this is the convoy to our new authoritarian lifestyle. As opposed to the old one.

I honestly don't feel too strongly on either side but I'd love to see an ultra Canadian move of handing out citations/fines for noise past reasonable hours. Actually maybe I'm for neither side and I'd watch it all burn .. probably on YouTube because ~Idiocracy.

Tbf, there are a portion of closet right wingers even in the urban core. In the last bullshit election's results for Toronto, 31.2% of the votes voted for the (cuck)servatives, and 3.6% voted for the PPC:

34.8% in total. That's 1/3rd of the votes for Toronto. Now, the other 2/3rd are retarded, but one of out 3 people even in the most urban bug city in Canada voted for (the closest thing we have to) right wing (ish) parties. And a large amount of those Liberal votes are from FOB immigrants who can't even speak or read English who get specially coached by Punjabi and Mandarin speaking Liberal party supporters on how to vote, in which they are specifically instructed to vote for only the Liberal candidate, without even being able to read the language.

Part of the flaw is that despite only getting 48.9% of the popular vote in Toronto, the Liberals win 90.6% of the electoral districts because of our retarded electoral system.
