I've never managed to get into nijisanji (I've been quoted calling people nijiniggers). I think it was just the jp translators or maybe the youtube rabbit hole didn't do it justice.
NijiEN though. Shits fire yo. Vox is the male voice people think God have. Pomu is just best girl (fight me). Finana is raunchiest corpo I've ever seen. She's talking about having dildos in her mouth on stream ffs. Nina hits me with mommy vibes both hot and actually motherly at times. Mysta is dumb and dumber level shtick and it works. Petra has the cutest live2D I've ever seen (also she's very bully able).
Now that I've had my fan boy moment. I still think holo got the best eng talents for girls. For guys niji might have beat them to the punch.

Karen's new song is the equivalent of Matsuri having 4 twitter accounts, two of them are for bitching about whatever sets off her menhera that day. One for vtuber and one for real girl. Unfortunately for Karen, taking the bait is lyrically weak, vocally strong, cause that's what Karen needs is half-hearted songs, but she already pointed out this song will solve nothing. The song is basically "it's okay to reply to bait posts if I think I'm funny."

Fortunately for Matsuri, calling your gen-mate a bitch for leaving you on read can actually solution into making up.

Edit: What you all should do is watch BatAtvideoGames if you want a female streamer who takes no shit. She legit said to gate keep your hobbies or you get shitty Monster Hunters.

Out of curiosity, for those who listen to that kind of stuff, who are your favourite ASMR V-Tubers?

Doesn't have to be a specialist like Chocosen or Patra, just someone who does it every now and then.

Okay so if you don't want specialists then I won't say Patra or Chloe. People that do it on occasion, Nene Amano has some good asmr, especially if you take the parasocial pill. Fauna is actually a good ENvtuber that does it now and then. A good JP that doesn't specialize... would be Rene. The problem is a lot of the JP ASMR I see these days is the people who specialize.

I'm not a fan of Calli's raps.

It's not the style, vocals or production, it's the fact that she seems to only write about herself, for herself. Maybe I'm misinterpreting a lot of her music, but I've seen many artists with this issue.

This is has been taken to a new extreme with the new demon dice songs. Listening to those was like watching somebody cry and masturbate at the same time. So much self loathing but passionately justifying herself constantly. Addressing one of them to the people that hate her is also a bizarre choice. Lots of people make mistakes on twitter, but having an ego hit so big you have to write a song about that will be on the internet forever? I feel this is going to age poorly for everyone.

It's usually a metaphor to say that someone "enjoys listening the sound of themselves talking", but she's somehow found a way to monetize it. Her bouncy self pity songs are not about universal feelings and concepts that are expressed uniquely through art, they're just angry drunk texts that rhyme. Maybe I just haven't found the appeal yet, I don't know.

I think the lyrical skills are terrific but I kind of understand the criticism, even though I think saying they’re weak is too much. They’re terrific in how they flow and sound, and the imagery they paint is great. Just, it’s easy to figure out what she’s saying and there’s not really any references. A lot of rap has a million references that allow dedicated listeners a different experience than casuals.

And yeah it would probably be better if there were more themes here than just “I’m unsatisfied, but why”.

Look I'm no ASMRtard but I love listening to her streams at max volume. I may have ripped the audio from some VODs so I have some chill stuff to listen to for like hours at a time....

Edit: Sorry I'm ADHD as fuck and spastic this morning and didn't address everything at first. She plays LoL AOE/2 some Total War stuff and really all kinds of shit. I wasn't kidding when I said she's Schizoposting-The Vtuber. It's kind of like railing some ketamine in Vtuber form. She's also usually on super early if your in US-eastern time zones. Like 4:30am early.

I still can't get over how good Finana's original song is.

V-Tuber songs are normally weird to settle my feelings on, because as much as I think Hinotori and most Calli songs are really good, none of them quite bridge that gap of 'music that can be played anywhere to anyone and be a bop'. They're very much songs aimed at the weeblet. Enna's 'Wish of this Songbird' is a technically brilliant piece that showcases her musical ability, but it's a specific type of song with very specific influence.

I've never listened to 'Sparks' because Kiara's begging made me avoid it out of spite, but Finana's 'Tsunami' hits that universal vibe so well whilst also being true to her style that it's incredible. For sure it's up there with Towa's 'Palette', AZKi's 'Inochi', Suisei's 'GHOST', and Kagami's 'Within' for me as one of the best V-Tuber originals.

Pippa constantly retweeting fanart of her "Pippenis" makes me feel bad for the fish man trying to maintain PC's image at least somewhat.

I mean, he knew what he was getting in for tbh. Especially considering he lets Pippa and Tenma interact without supervision.

Regarding Karen's EP, it's great, I missed that DD sound. Looks like since now that she has two outlets for her creativity, the DD one is used for self-loathing and venting only, gotta keeep the moneymaker one corpo friendly. It also explains Mori's behavior for the last week with the deadcucks debacle. (Song came first, obviously)

On another note. We lost her to the chinks, boys, pack it up.
