So totally agree. I'm all for creating a sandbox universe with lots of characters, races, et al to use however necessary, but Glip/PK (heh, almost wrote 'Glop'... what an accurate description of her art) is just throwing whatever comes to mind into it without any focus or coherence. There's too many damn species, but she's only using maybe less than a third of them.

To echo what Galaxy Harasser said above, it's better to have a small amount of finely tuned, well-developed races -sentient or non-sentient-, rather than a clusterfuck of 50+ races that do absolutely nothing except "look pretty" or "look awesome". That's not to say it can't be done (just look at the Star Wars Expanded Universe before Disney hit the History Eraser Button, for an example, or even DC Comics' cosmic characters), but only the most skilled of creators/worldbuilders can pull it off. And PK isn't one of those.

I get the distinct impression she likes designing stuff (even if the vast majority can be best summed up as "blindingly fluorescent and over-designed bootleg Pokemon for formerly repressed fetishists"), but she has absolutely no clue on the actual nuts and bolts of worldbuilding.

She definitely likes designing things. But as you say, she has no idea how to worldbuild effectively. It's obvious she hates to edit and trim things down, which is something you HAVE to do in worldbuilding, otherwise you get big fat clusterfucks like hers.

While we're on the subject of species though, does anyone notice that there's basically nothing dividing the 'human' species from the 'animal' species. I'm using 'human' very, very loosely here, to denote species that can talk/ basically act like a human. (Again, very loose usage of the word)

But what I mean is, from what the Cagroos sheet is saying, they are more like beasts of burden or pack animals than a race with cognitive function and capacity for speech and higher reasoning. So they're essentially 'animals' when compared with the other species like Manticores and what not.

And yet, you get PK drawing porn of the 'human' races fucking Cagroos and other similar 'animal' species such as Maple Dogs, Mossamanders and Buck Bucks. I remember PK writing a bit of info on these latter three, basically saying they're wild animals (but apparently you can fuck them, or they can fuck you). Seems she's deleted the original posts though...

So subtly sneaking in bestiality?? I'm honestly not surprised. But I guess to PK it's not bestiality because NO HUMANS.
