I think it does unfortunately reflect a kind of "class" divide on the issue with regards to the vax and other things, with the people that consume services on one side and the people that actually provide them and keep them functioning on the other, and the consumers just having this default expectation that the providers are supposed to keep the gears running regardless.

I’ve seen a lot of fake paid protestors. They’re really lame. I guess they’re just there to inflate numbers or something. Also not really dangerous, at least from what I’ve seen, because they’re risk averse. They often don’t even bother to hand out fliers even if they’re expected to.

On the Burgerland side of the border protest the local county Sheriff thinks all this is great and seems really pleased. I don't think the canuk cops will get any assistance short of an officer down call.

So /pol/ has been fucking with /r/ottawa's counter-protest planning thread by asking "mental hotfoot" questions and expressing (genuine) concerns about the protests. Stuff like suggesting/worrying that law enforcement is infiltrating the counter-protesters, that it might be more trouble than it's worth to actually get out there and be confrontational, and of course the "big one" -- that if they counter-protest they'll be breaking the mandate/restrictions the truckers are protesting against in the first place and ergo they'll look super fucking stupid for doing it.

Some clever redditor (lol) spotted this and cleverly warned /r/ottawa about this sinister plan:

First, it's hilarious that the response to the hypocrisy question is "do not engage with this invalid claim." Second, this has sown some pretty impressive seeds of distrust and paranoia on the sub now, since these humorless dolts have zero ability to distinguish real posters from trolls and they're raising completely valid -- albeit very uncomfortable -- concerns and questions.

Now these feckless redditors have no fucking clue who to trust and anyone who complains about or questions any aspect of the planning of this upcoming counter-protest are going to be attacked and drummed out.

I don't care if 4chan (/pol/ in particular) is glowie central these days. This shit is hilarious and I will always love them for how much they love fucking with reddit and the dullards that infest it.
