Not saying @Fuck It We'll Do It Live wasted time, I'm saying it's worth a look for stuff like this if someone did find it was taken down or whatever. If idubbbz has taken down any videos it'd probably be on one of those pages right now, for example.

This made me realize the difference between a late 2010's edgy e-celeb whose whole humor is saying nigger, faggot and acting all-mighty and controversial to hide his lack of personality and a true comedian. Ian should have done like his faggy friends and move away from his character to focus on more personal stuff, Max opening pokemon cards while screaming like a retarded monkey is a million times funnier and more honest than any new video Idubbz has made.

@TransNig I can't reply to your comment for some reason, but all I know is that in the Sam Hyde cut the lighting was relatively bright for the whole room, but for the Ian video it's almost like they're in a different room to me, I don't know anything about filming so I don't know if this was done in post or they kept messing with the lights while filming. I would say Ian would've wanted more artsy shots and lighting, while Sam pretty much posted everything as it was from what I could see.

It could be intentional, but it could also just be that the camera guy messed up by setting the ISO too low, the aperture too closed. Could be malice, could be just setting the lens too many stops down.

Sam on the other hand is known for not giving a shit about cameras, it is not his focus. Back in the day that was what Andrew Ruse focused on. Sam could make a good video with a logitech webcam, or a 100k dollar Arri in my opinion.

I feel like if it was a genuine mistake they would've acknowledged it. YouTubers tend to put up disclaimers about "P.S. the audio is messed up in this part" or "the camera is out of focus sorry" and I remember iDubbbz being a bit of a perfectionist, constantly shitting on his old videos for shitty audio or editing mistakes. For something so glaring yet unintentional I'm sure they would've said something about it and maybe even poked fun at it, but then again I guess don't know iDubbbz's MO anymore.

Ian is clearly autistic though. Like the driving bit with Sam talking about his father clearly had a ring of truth to it. And Ian saying if you're being serious you gotta say so. If you didn't catch the realness then you're a sperg straight up, Ian. Life experience was in that tone. But then Ian came in with this docu idea with preconceptions that Sam Hyde was schizo scum and the truth is he's just a dude with a comedy persona that's larger and more in face than the reality. That's it.

Dude needs to understand how documentaries work or why interviewers like Louis Theuroux are good at what they do. Louis has a genuine quality and he isn't out to make a narrative based on what he already thinks the experience is. He is there to understand and he films people as they are and present themselves. It's clear Ian latched on to a narrative he wanted to tell and his absolute disappointment at being told Dani is an actor is just precious. He really thought he had an airtight 'Sam is a scum human being as I thought' angle.

Idk what happened to Ian but if this is the death knell then better to bow out gracefully. You can't call yourself a comedian anymore Idubbbz.

The absolute fucking state of Ian in all the new footage and new framing of shots we've seen.
In Sam's video, Ian looks like he's been fucked with, and isn't dealing with it great, but that things are actually all in good humour. Shit like trashing the office, the stupid tricycle cars makes it so obvious Sam is taking the piss, and in Sam's footage it looks like he's aware of the joke (he even calls Sam out in the office when he first arrives), but just frustrated that he's not getting to this entirely serious level with Sam.

In Ian's footage, that's not the fucking case at all. He's not tired of the jokes, he's oblivious to them. He actually buys into the routine and is mad the entire time. He literally whines about being emasculated and comes across like an autistic Jimmy Kimmel in the car footage. Expressly asking Sam to clarify after every statement whether the statement is a joke or serious. The agonising wearing a mask in the passenger seat of a drive-thru segment felt like I was watching a scene out of some bizarre PurePwnage/Peep Show mashup.

Watching Sam's cut of the interview I came away thinking Ian was just frustrated that his early workwas keeping him from corpo/big time gigs, saying something about wishing he could get a Netflix budget. And it felt like he was there to see if Sam was having a worse time than him so Ian could at least get a hit of copium from still being allowed on YouTube as opposed to Sam's monetisation banishment but was deflated that Sam was doing fine.

Turns out, Ian actually was just trying to run a retarded, hit piece with no any self awareness, being really obvious in his interviews that he was trying to build a narrative and what angle he was going for while completely falling for every goof and feeling scared and emasculated because a guy tried to make a funny video with him after Ian asked him to.

Did Ian never understand comedy and his early career was just 3 years of flukes? Did he suffer brain trauma off camera that we don't know about? Has his relationship with Anisa just worn away his sense of humour and ability to communicate? Either way, guy's a fucking state.

He never denied it being him as far as I know but he probably just felt he didn't need to, or that denying it would only fuel the swamp creatures (journalists) trying to smear him.

Would people believe him? Idubbs had a point about Sam living in the frustrating sincerity/meta-irony land. Or at least his public, comedic persona.
