Okay so you drive in with the rare, highly-specialized equipment, spend a half hour hooking up and drag it... where exactly? And then turn around and go back. That's a solid hour minimum, per vehicle.

For something like a semi those boom lifts pull the drive wheels off the ground. Nothing like that exists on a fire truck.

Unless they plan on bricking them on the highway, I would guess whoever they hire to clear them would just find a way to start them and drive them out of the way rather than bring in some kind of specialized heavy-haul tow whatevers. I don't think tractor ignition switches are particularly sophisticated. It's not like they get parked in the bad part of town or anything needing layers of defenses.

Semi truck stuff isn't very complicated either.

Ok, I thought about it. Tow guys know about lockouts and the repo dudes might know a thing about key-less starts. Not gonna work. Bricking them is really the only way. I got the way to do it too.

Pull the ECM. Those come off with fairily simple tools so simple that you gotta watch out in bad neighborhoods because they can be a target of theft. They are typically something like four harnesses and a couple allen-head screws.

You aren't going to get those replaced overnight or that week even. Towing is the only way it moves. Probably could just get away with quickly unplugging it since tow guys don't know shit about mechanicals and road service and the nearby John Deere dealer isn't going to touch this.

I hope the counter protest happens. Not only will it further clog up the streets, which is what the truckers want, but there's nothing they can do that will actually bother the truckers. We already saw that one guy jumping around shrieking because he hadn't slept in days, and the truckers didn't care at all. They were polite and actually tried to have friendly dialog with the guy, but he just kept REEEing.

The truckers and their supporters are having fun and can easily ignore the protestors. It will be too easy to drown out their banshee screams with more honking. The counter protestors are weak and have no actual goal or passion behind their reason to protest, so I can't see them sticking around more than a day before they give up and go back home to cry on reddit.
