Yeah I'm not celebrating quite yet, plus I guarantee Edmonton & Calgary mayors would find a way to keep the bullshit mask mandates going (or even make their own ~restrictions exemption program~) but it's a good step forward.

Oh they'll try, but it won't get very far. A few Calgary councilmen (and the champagne socialist ones at that) have already admitted they have no legal basis for vax passes and have only a sliver more foundation to keep mask mandates in place. Plus Kenney himself stated that once provincial restrictions are gone cities won't be given any ability to implement more than what's already covered under municipal legislation - i.e. shit all mandate-wise.

It's what makes me giddy to see how big the protests get this weekend. Seeing the local governments of Calgary and Edmonton get put in their place always invites the warm fuzzies inside and I'm in need of a good dopamine hit

Guys ive a theory. With the introduction of fast paced media cycles, it was discovered that the most of the problems/issues go away when ignored. Is someone being cancelled? Not after two days. As the result, the govt advisors also picked up this tactic. Downplay everything, run away, don't answer. Ghosting of a kind. this works UNTILL there's a legit snowballing problem

I wonder if such incrementalism will be necessary. Year-zero-ism is more of a French Revolution leftist thing, and we know what a disaster that was with Pol Pot taking it to its logical conclusion. If the real right ever does gain the upper hand, will it be less DOTR and more 3 years of rollback every year (though an initial roundup may be necessary to make even this possible)? A populace who have all been brought up in some degree of pozz couldn't suddenly recreate "what they took from you" even if they wanted to, they'd have to restore each thing that was chipped away.

For example a high-trust, homogeneous society is preserved only by a low time preference population not easily swayed by propaganda, which requires long enough attention spans to think things through. Otherwise they get convinced to do what the boomers did and produce such small families with so little savings that they effectively demand mass immigration to prop up their standard of living, and if you try to stop the economic migrants without fixing those secondary problems every sector is inclined against you because they're all too high time preference to consider taking the hit in profitability for the long term advantages.

The R/Toronto top posts are all currently priming the pump as we speak:

The angle will be something involving the "protestors attacking health care workers", "Protestors block ambulance", or at the minimum "Protestors honking disturbing sick children at the Hospital for Sick Kids" or something to that effect.

To see why this media angle will be believable, note the geography of Toronto, and how all the major hospitals in Toronto are located next to the Ontario Legislative Building, including the Women's Hospital (sexist smear angle), and the Hospital for Sick Kids (protestors hate children smear angle).

Here's a picture from the main street that leads to the Ontario Legislative building, which is marked in the distance. Almost every building you see to the left and right are hospitals:

This is a smear angle the media in Toronto have used before when the in person protests would march up the street to the Ontario Legislative building to demonstrate.

I can't really see any way to mitigate or prevent the smear, because it's ultimately media hearsay, but I can 100% guarantee it's coming.

Sounds like they're still working to get that 1/6.

Folks in the counter-protest planning Discord are getting very spicy. I wonder how one would massage this info such that the Police could act on it.

Throwing a propane tank won't blow it up. Now shooting it on the other hand that would create a nice boom. But these people will probably try to make Molotov cocktails the dumb way and burn themselves if they're that isolated and snap. I think however most of them will probably shut themselves in defeat.
