I love that analogy. The US dollar is holding us up, but who's holding it up?
That's actually one of the big reasons the Biden administration is so hostile to Russia right now. Russia along with China, North Korea, Iran, and Eastern Europe is trying to create a parallel banking/payment processor system That's independent of the U.S dollar which is already very fragile.

When all the safety nets are gone its only a matter of time before something falls and you have to wonder, what is going to happen next?
nothing that would make me want to be raising my English speaking American ass kids outside of the first world, unless I had a damn good reason, like I personally was avoiding extradition, and even then I'd probably leave the kids back in the US.

people talk about "unrest" in very vague terms. something highly specific and nightmarish that I am very afraid of: kidnapping. Rich people in the third world expend huge amounts of resources avoiding kidnapping. This is one of the reasons rich women in Islamic countries don't chafe as much at the restrictions as you'd expect; things would change for them some if the sex-based restrictions went away but not all that much. if we are looking at economic collapse all those friendly beachy places will turn into shooty starvy places very, very quickly, your safety as an American will be questionable at best, and having children there will mean having big ass expensive targets.

but maybe Gehenna is moving to Andorra or some shit, maybe the EU leadership is planning on distinguishing themselves from the US by showing the world how not retarded they can be be, in which case maybe I'll go too, but the EU has retard baked into its system in a way the US doesn't so I dunno. I don't see any path by which the feds can exert any more power over the states than they are doing now. Blue states might go demented but as long as you don't live in them you'll be ok.

We're hitting the stage where the administration just fabricates numbers for its reports, BLS reported 467K jobs added for Jan over 125K expected. Not only that, they decided to revise prior numbers, Dec 199K to 510K, Nov 249K to 647K. ADP, the company that handles paychecks for most of the country, and doesn't just fabricate reports states that the economy actually lost about 300k jobs. https://www.barrons.com/articles/jobs-private-sector-adp-report-51643808778

This is fair bit different than the Obama administrations fabrications, they would always be positive and always within 20k of the prior month regardless of seasonality, such as December packing on more growth because people pick up part time jobs doing retail and UPS package handling.

The issue, simply put, is that additional restrictions on gun ownership, no matter how draconian, will not change that shit. The places with the highest rates of gun crime in the USA are also, coincidentally, the ones with the most restrictions on gun ownership. Similarly, most guns used in violent crimes and shootings are illegal guns - stolen, acquired blackmarket, or otherwise not on file with a legitimate owner.

None of these realities will ever factor into the establishment left's hate of gun ownership, because they don't actually care about any of these. They don't care about violent crime, or racial violence, they don't care about safety or protecting people. They'll talk big about it, but they don't actually give a shit about any of it. The reason they push this shit is because they fundamentally want you disarmed - and if you want to know why they want that, take a good fucking look at Australia right now, and remember that there are people who are fapping themselves raw over the prospect of doing that shit here. It's why they threw so much at Rittenhouse.

Now for the good news: They can't ever disarm the US. Period. There's countless guns in circulation right now and the sheer volume of violent gun crimes committed in states that essentially ban handgun ownership should nicely establish exactly how well any attempt to destroy 2A will work in practice. Even better, their own goons act as a living, breathing, autistically screeching example of why firearm ownership is necessary. BLM essentially killed any attempt at gun control the Dems may have attempted back in 2020, it was fucking hilarious.

Best explanation I ever heard for the left's obsession with banning AR-15s is that it's the same animus that drives a bunch of boys to sneak over to a rival school and steal their mascot suit or something like that. They don't hate the AR-15 because of anything about that rifle in particular; they hate mouth-breathing red state hicks, and they perceive the AR-15 as something important to us, so all they really want to do is grab our flag and do a victory lap around the field with it. If, for some reason, the AR-15 was really popular with inner city black gangs, but we mayoghoulen preferred Kentucky long rifles with bayonets (just like the Founding Fathers intended), that's what they would be obsessed with banning. California and NY wouldn't have Assault Weapon Bans, they'd have Relic Weapon Bans designed to make owning a black powder flintlock as inconvenient as possible.

The BLS apparently changed metrics on things but did so in the middle of December. This is like how Netflix changed what counts as a view of a show to start with just 60 seconds as opposed to a few minutes.

general observation:

there is a really interesting and actually diverse set of people on here. some people have gone to college and some people haven't. some people have gone to a LOT of college and some people have just gone in for their degree and gotten out.

reading people on this thread try to make sense of the behavior of the Biden administration and the corporate press makes me think that there is a huge division between those of us who roomed with these people, sat next to them in class for years, competed with them for goodies, and watched them move into their careers, and those of you who blissfully got to spend that time of your youth with normal fucking human beings.

nothing that happens surprises me much because I saw how these people dealt with university politics and I saw them buy them their first houses and I saw them deal with school districts and hire nannies and get real in the Whole Foods parking lot and now Jen fucking Psaki is on TV acting exactly like every soulless co-ed in student government

It really does feel like how life was always portrayed as being in the Soviet Union. The government just completely making shit up and the mainstream media reporting the made up shit as if it is all true.

Formerly the Senator from Citibank, now the President from Citibank, Joe Biden, had his education secretary in court trying to keep people using bankruptcy laws over student loan debt. A judge ruled the standards for declaring bankruptcy over student loan debt are too high and onerous for one borrower but Miguel Cardona filed to block the bankruptcy ruling on Wednesday. Enough people noticed and blasted the administration for it and the administration sheepishly repealed their legal motions.
No refunds!

I think it was posted yesterday, but holy shit this was brutal and deserves to be posted again. This is the spokesman for the State Department?

This "Russia is totally going to do a false flag guys!" thing has been one of the phoniest bits of Agit-Prop media campaign since the Steele's "Pee Tape" dossier.

It is flagrantly false. Anybody who has any sense in their head and actually looks to see if there is literally a single scrap of evidence in support recognizes that.

This was true over two weeks ago when the narrative got pushed in the media for the first time, and it is still true now.

Kamala Harris staffers seem to always be coming and leaving, her communications director left in November 2021, her adviser and chief spokeswoman left in December 2021, and top this all off her deputy director of public engagement and intergovernmental affairs also left to go do something else. From what I read one reason why they keep leaving is that staff are reportedly frustrated Biden keeps giving Harris tough assignments such as reducing illegal immigration. Adding to this the vice president allegedly has a "soul-crushing" management style.

during the primary, there were articles about exactly this, Kamala was like BigHead from Silicon Valley; She mainly got ahead by sheer luck and her minority status, she isn't exactly competent, even by the dems' lax standards. Shes Hilary without the competency we all get from a hard working white woman. Hilary is the Tracy Flick-esque nerd with a thirst for power. Kamala was the token black one of the bouncy cheerleader sluts who just fucked their way through high school. The only thing she's good at is prosecuting, she would have been an amazing Attorney General, for a conservative administration. Her entire skill set is all but useless in the CRT law field.

Its almost like a cruel joke, her and joe are both blue dogs, but have been forced to be progressive by the powers that be, no wonder Manchin is giving them the finger, he's clearly seen what happens if you let them take an inch. if Manchin cucks he'll be forced into drag the rest of his life. Honestly I bet the blue dogs of the party are pulling their hair out. its the 70s/80s all over again, the socialists are dragging the entire party down, if it weren't for the corruption Trump could probably have ushered in another era of republican presidents.

Its even worse now, by forcing the win for Joe they allowed people to see how the tricks were done, Joe's win basically is the run gotten from the bunt sacrifice of Virginia and almost New Jersey becoming red states, and the way shits looking it'll be the first of many sacrifices.

Spending time in the univeristy system also gives you an idea of how incompetent they are at actually leading and managing. These places charge an obscene amount of money, adjunct professors teach classes for a pittance, and existing programs are often left to fend for themselves. They sure find the time and money to lecture us about diversity and the fagpedo agenda though. While they increase tuition and housing costs hurting poor (often minority) students.

The bad news is that these people have filtered into every institution that hates us and aggressively gained power. The good news is that they're incompetent. They'll attack like a spurned ex girlfriend, but they won't last.
