Why are they calling for the caucus to leave the party rather than just pushing a caucus revolt to replace Kenney, like what just happened with O'Toole? Wouldn't their departure result in an NDP government of Alberta, which would be just as bad or worse in terms of covid policy? Unless he means leave that party and then do a confidence and supply arrangement akin to what the federal NDP does for the Liberals, in which case what's the point? I don't understand these demands.

There already is a leadership vote on April 6th so that has already been accomplished. They are calling for him to be forced out now, instead of April 6th (a virtual certainty if he doesn't rig the vote like he did last time).
The UCP MLAs don't have the ability to remove the leader through a vote like the federal cons have.

As far as Birds go they work pretty well as a symbol for this. Generally peaceful, like wide open spaces, travel long distances, and if you bring shit to their nest they will try and fuck you up no matter how big you are.
